This was the epitome of the old meme: "I hate Destiny. It's my favorite game."
I hate this comment. I can't stop coming back and looking at it.
We all know if bungie and activision never took paid content from people d2 would have taken over the gaming world.
Bro thinks the deathbringer quest is tedious but doesn’t talk about how bad some of the exotic quests are in d1
Looking at you Thorn. God forbid if you didn't have a void primary 💀
Thorn year 1
hey grab this thing but, you gotta wait until weekly reset twice
His old Bungie that gave him a green engram that turned into an exotic was so generous… meanwhile new bungie is literally throwing more loot at us right now in the coil seasonal activity and onslaught than any other time in destiny history.
Yea an exotic engram is worth nothing these days
Wonder why they decided to do that now of all times.
Couldn't be due to a failure of an expansion with Lightfall and the lowest pre-orders they've had for an expansion in years.
They gave you limitless rewards out of desperation and you all fell for it lol
@@shooshooshooshooshooter we’ve been getting more rewards in D2 than D1 for years. Literally just decrptyed over 300 engrams that were building up in my vendors before the season was over. All while you still farm spinmetal because you are an emotional stubborn gamer who can’t admit they were wrong?
@@basedoz5745 you’re confused about what a ‘reward’ is. What you’ve described there is bloatware disguised as something the game is giving back to you.
The difference is the process to acquire such things is streamlined way better than in D1.
Out of those 300 engrams, what did you find in the bunch that actually felt valuable to the point that you’re not only gonna keep it but also actively use it. Likely less than 1%.
That’s not a reward, it’s junk mail.
@@shooshooshooshooshooter so wait, D1 fan girls are now arguing that D1 gave you more rewards while also saying that D2 rewards are bloatware? lol literally no shame. How many planetary mats do you have in your inventory. Meanwhile I have gotten better weapons in the past 2 years than any point of d1. Just because you haven’t kept up and don’t know what weapon rolls are good anymore doesn’t mean it’s bloatware.
"how bungie ruined their destiny" is 79% bad puns and you guessed it 21% delirium
Ha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The amount of puns genuinely hurt me.
The destiny community now is people who were too broke to buy the game before it went free to play and are literally addicts to do daily challenges 😂
Destiny is still shit though.
There was a ton of justified negativity throughout D1 that this guy completely ignored. And a ton of equally justified positivity about D2 that he is also overlooking. I'm not saying all of his praise for D1, nor his criticism of D2, are unwarranted/invalid. But this feels like a hit piece rather than a truly substantive and impartial retrospective.
I've taken many breaks from Destiny over the years, from D1Y1 to D2Y6. I've stayed through bad periods and left during good periods (though more often, strike that and reverse it). Despite it all, D2 is a great but imperfect game in my opinion - as was D1. So much of what he says about how D1 made him feel still applies to D2 for me personally: A game that you can simply turn on, get lost in, and have fun. D2 has more content now than D1 ever did, and a lot of D2's current content is better and more rewarding than D1's average content. I don't let Bungie off the hook for their shortfalls and errors, but I think if you're going to be so mindful of these elements then it's only fair to be just as mindful of the things Bungie has done well/right.
Imo the seasonal model is ass, yeah content droughts sucked but it meant that I never felt like I was suffering from fomo and sunk cost fallacy. The monetization is certaintly one thing aswell, I dont want to have to sink in 100 quid for the annual pass ontop of a 20 euro dungeon key. Every. Year. Its a price im willing to pay but Bungie *know* that if any other studio pulled this shit they would get annihilated online.
Can you though? The seasonal model and constant FOMO business idea doesn’t let you just get on and get lost into the game, it forces you to
D1 having to go to orbit before a planet was so so tedious imo
@@gavinferguson2938 The dungeon keys are included.
I find it odd he seems to hate that weapons get nerfed? like I do get it, it sucks when your favorite weapon is nerfed but like...
if nerfs and buffs didnt happen the game would get stale really fast
His argument was typically that he hated seeing nerfs primarily; circumvent having to nerf by buffing other stuff
@@vishalb.2396powercreep is already a major issue
A lot of those opinions he had made it seem like “if you enjoy this stuff you’re dumb, and you’re wrong, I’m right. If you want to be right think like me.” It also seems like him playing The Final Shape at all is like a twisted “Sunk Cost Fallacy”. He came so far with a game he actively finds no joy in that he might as well see the “end” and then be vindicated in his decision when he is ultimately disappointed because his mind is already made up. Just don’t play and let those who enjoy the game still have fun.
Seems like he is more bitter that destiny fans didn’t always agree with him more than anything about Bungie.
he clearly is in love with the game dude its not easy to acknowledge flaws without experiencing the good points. The game has abysmal writing and a poor beginning - mid game which is the part where most people choose to stick around. The seasonal format encourages the same "shoot, kill, hold E" format that every other activity in the game has because mechanics harder than a baby rattle cant be in patrol. The vanguard and gambit rituals are a joke in terms of replay-ability considering they axed most of the maps and strikes. Into the light didnt even fix majority of the issues it just introduced another shoot kill hold E mode. I enjoy this game and have 682hrs clocked so far so its not like i dont play but i am also at least partially conscious to the fact that D2 is in a pretty awful state. You cant teach an old dog new tricks tho so i dont expect many d2 players to internalize the concept of being critical
I think you’re missing my point, but you’re right. I love the game too, but it is deeeeeeeeply flawed. I have close to 4,000 hours played if you add up my steam and PlayStation accounts. I’m not blind to the shit seasonal model, repetitive grind, horrible matchmaking, unbalanced abilities, lack of PvP support, endless glitches, error codes, cheaters, etcetera. I want to see the game/franchise thrive and improve and iterate, and I don’t think I’m alone in that sentiment.
I’m probably mistaken in my take on his words. Nobody would put that amount of time and effort into something like that without caring about the game. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Criticism is important and healthy, but it just seemed like he was waiting for his prison sentence with the game to be over so he could finally be free.
@@exomoneylabel right but that point falls on deaf ears when he is longing for the gameplay loop of destiny 1 patrol zones all while hating the grind of D2. He glossed over Witch Queen like it isn’t by far the best narrative in all of destiny. He was literally criticizing how easy Destiny can be while ignoring Witch Queen introduced legend campaigns. Destiny 2 right now has better gameplay, build crafting, enemy difficulty, and gives you more loot than at any point of D1
I loved the first game. Had maybe 2000+ hours on it. I quit playing since they started re-selling D1 content to me in D2 expansions and cutting content i paid for. The game went from being fun to repetitive chores to gain maybe 1 or 2 light levels a week if i was lucky. I just dont have that time working full time and being a parent.
Puns: 9/10
Takes: 6.5/10
Nah takes should be lower, half of the video is glazing Destiny One expansions that objectively gave less content then a single Destiny 2 Season gives…
Like the nostalgia goggles are unreal.
@@charleywilson2146 honestly, half of his takes are "okay, so this big dlc is better than a season (that is fundamentally built differently) because it has more content than it"
bro takes are like 3/10
@@charleywilson2146I was agreeing till you said d1 expansions that give less content, the d2 seasonal model is redundant and repetitive
@@fatedtwo2504 nah i agree with what most of he said, especially sunsetting, sunsetting was such a bad idea, and made the game worse for new and returning players as it cuts out all the content of older seasons.. leaving you confused as to what happend. thats just bad design.
I totally understand his frustration and feeling burnt out and just done with D2. Seeing how it made changes that objectively did hurt the game like sunsetting and just not at all enjoying the gameplay loop. Just do not enjoy the seasonal model by any means.
But I do think this type of burn out really limited himself in actually playing D2 today and what it offered. Undermining 2.0 by comparing it to D1 abilities (omg the layout was disgusting back then), not even playing what Stasis and Strand had to offer, no mention of crafting either.
And again, its fine to feel burnt out and just want to stop playing Destiny because it isn't what it used to be or that it became worse in your eyes, but its so tired and demoralizing to hear this sentiment when they're not even giving it a chance.
Just like any other live service game. If you feel burnt out, Take a break i took a 5 month break from D2 and came back during into the light and am having a blast since. Can’t wait for TFS
Same! I’ve put in a fuck tonne of hours since taking a break and honestly now im hooked and dont think i’ll get burnt out any time soon
The problem with this advice is that you'll likey miss out on things, and potentially miss out on those things forever.
@@X20Adam it is okay to miss out thing. if you have mindset that you have to see or do everything, then you just get burnout
@@noneclip you're missing the point. People want to experience the things they've paid for, and having so much of the game that you have to pay for get removed all the time heightens FOMO, especially when kinda important story stuff gets removed. Amanda Holiday is a Prime example.
There's so much stuff that I'll likely never get to experience because I took a long break from the game, only to come back to multiple expansions being removed, and years of seasonal content being locked away in a vault.
Destiny is a hollow shell of what it could be, but they're too busy chasing player count highs and over monitizing the whole thing to see the forest for the trees.
They really did ruin their Destiny
This is like telling an alcoholic to just stop drinking
The fact that he starts by praising the dark below, where the "new story missions" were missions of the base game but played on the reverse...and he even said that the missions of curse of osiris were "reskin"? What? And the dark below and house of wolves ones you just praised? I swear to god these people cannot be real.
Destiny 2 has no pay to win. I’ve bought everything and still get mopped in Trials 😂
Facts frostbolt kicked my teeth in with white weapons
Yea morale is in a good spot and this guy is just salty. He glosses over anything good. I'm so hyped for the final shape. 🎉
He’s right D2…Bungie got lazy asf. You do a quest & get the exotic lol. OG Destiny took a lot more then that
@@iwaskillcam1434you know that’s not every exotic right? Sometimes you have to do an entire campaign for some exotics

Agreed.
Started in d1 quit in d2. Came back for witch queen and quit soon after. Came back for lightfall and didn't even finish the campaign.
I'm someone who was absolutely done with destiny especially as a d1 vet.
Came back for into the light and I mean just wow.
Farmable weps, craftable weps for each season. The coil, onslaught, a library of raids, extremely intense dungeons on legend mode (just cleared warlords on legend with my new can THROUGH THE FIRETEAM FINDER).
An amazing world lore that's nearing a "finality".
Bro I'm sorry. I'm a big bungie hater and even I can admit they are fuckin cooking with this game.
I've played into the light more than my entire time with witch queen and starting lightfall combined.
Did I mention onslaught? Shiny weapons, amazing weps like mountaintop which will be enhancable in tfs?
Sunrise?
Sorry but if you hate this game after having tried into the light (as a vet player, ngl it is tough for new new lights) if you hate the game though even after unto the light then destiny is just not for you.
However, if you like arpgs light buildcrafting (which also will be boosted with prismatic), if you like challenging methodical gameplay (legend Master level raids, dungeons, etc) then you just have to try d2 imo.
There's a reason games like helldivers can release and people say "destiny killer" only for d2 to swoop back in and take top 5 most played and most played in a rpg genre.
Because it's a good fking game.
I personally just dont like bungies business philosophy. They actively try to mske sub par content calling games that push the envelope in development a overdeliverance. The monetization is pretty egregious. The pay scheme is convoluted. Gun models are constantly recycled. The firing of people like michael salvatori just because he has a lot of bungie shares is scummy. For a story that's been built up for almost 10 years is incredibly underwhelming and confusing with only one new race being introduced(taken and scorn down count they're corrupted versions of other races). It just feels underwhelming.
I lot of people like the creator of this video seem to forget that D1 seemed so great because of how new everything was. Everything was full of discovery.
Idk I don’t think this guy is the right person to be making this type of video. Lot of weird takes and something that are just blatantly incorrect.
I’m not sure you’re the right guy to make that kind of comment.

I respect a lot of this guys opinions if those are what he came to, but I’m not sure how much a review of Final Shape from someone who made a near hour long video just talking about how much they already dislike the game is worth. Seems like he’ll be going in with a loaded opinion.
I like how the dude complained about nothing to do in patrol zones and dead world but then cried when he had to find and collect sleeper nodes for the quest

The title for his video should be “ How bungie ruined what I wanted for Destiny”
Hahaha yeah we have expectations because it’s what we’re paying for and it’s what they’re promising. And yet they consistently fall flat, and have done since the beginning of destiny 1
Why does he focus on d1 its a diffrent game. You can not really compare d1 with d2
Reminds me of that November Hotel guy, where he keeps comparing D1 to D2 all the time
Spot on video from Renn. I will never stop playing Destiny but understand where he’s coming from.
"how can a developer put their heart and soul into something thats going to get deleted in 2 years"! This for me is where he fucked up. 1) its never deleted, its stored and reused later 2) Isnt that a risk with all game development? I can name at least 10 games in recent history that were DOA that devs had to carry on making content for, never knowing if that was it. Devs know and understand this and generally doesnt affect their passion for making something to the best of their ability.
hell, by its very nature a live service game is temporary
Also they said expansions aren't getting vaulted anymore. He didn't pay attention.
@@supercato9613to be fair that'd be a criticism of his fearmongering. And he can't have is oh so mighty points challenged.
Yeah and I remember there being a sentiment in D1, specially around Y1 and Y2, how Bungie would spend a lot of resources in campaign missions and maps which they would then be unable to reuse. Now, they're making very good use of their old content and get shat on for that to.
People seem to have completely forgotten about the massive content droughts and terrible quests from D1 too.
@@el_androi1203 D2 players have a mixed bag of New Lights in them who would crawl into a hole and cry if they knew about the 16 to 20 hours we had to spend a week running around the cosmodrome gathering resources lol That was "content" back in the day lol
This is a really interesting game situation. It's a game that has some of my favorite gameplay. But I really only stick to it any amount of time when I'm in a good clan. I'm not much of a PvP player. And it seems like I pick some of the weirdest times to jump in, but it does seem like the sentiment around the game is positive. I hope TFS is really good.
It feels like John Bungie killed his dog or something, the amount of shit talking this dude did kinda made me mad. I will admit there have been some bumps along the road, but I've been in the community since the beginning and I've enjoyed nearly every minute of it. I look forward to what's to come as well
Translation "I had fun in this game when I was a teen, had infinite time and friends, but now I just don't feel it and hate on it despite it being objectively better in almost every single aspect.
Bungie vaulted the older content because a lot of it was on a launch version of the Destiny 2 engine and every update they the dev team updated the engine, certain things wouldn’t work anymore. It started off as a simple trigger, small piece of dialogue was skipped, or a small script call would miss or not fire at all to big triggers (Ghaul fight not beginning or ending cutscene or entire story areas not loading at all causing lynx. To name a few, to entire scripts just failing to fire at all and putting you into a limbo state where nothing was working but the terrain was fully loaded structures were loaded but they were “hollow” because the scripts that, that particular load zone needed failed to fire all together and with that dialogue script calls would fail to fire at all. So, Bungie vaulted all the older content because of incompatibilities within the code and game engine.
I got lynxed out of an activity because the zone failed to load and not even the preload zone was available as a backup, so it kicked me back to orbit.
I mean I love destiny 2, and leveling up, and just playing in general without feeling like I'm forced to play.
Kinda wild hearing the lantern encounter being called awesome when it’s one of the most boring and infuriating encounters in any raid
It is amazing to me how low the numbers for final shape have been. Usually it’s 2-3 million or more players, but this has only been around 1.5 million
Hes just a hater huffing d1 nostalgia and copium
Yeah I played d1 again and I was like damn this game is trash
Feels sooooo clunky and also can’t even change fov so I feel like I’m looking through a freakin telescope
And it takes 3 years to turn around because d2 has turn radius and even more sensitivity options

Such is the way of a game that constantly gets updates
If d3 came out I’d be saying the same exact thing about how d3 is better than d2 that’s just how that works at least from a non nostalgic perspective
I think he was just talking bad about the game because he wants people to overreact to his comments and bad views
I mean, yea lightfall was a rough year. Currently though, things are in a great spot. It’s like this video is a year late lol
Lightfalls year oddly enough wasn’t even a horrible year content wise, Witch and Wish + Into The Light had a ton of good stuff! Deep and Defiance were a bit less interesting, but I still liked them :)
Even Lightfall itself wasn’t a horrible expansion, it had a lot of good stuff, it just suffered because of shitty dialogue.
@@charleywilson2146 I’d disagree. Outside of dungeons and this current season (I goes I’ll count the season before this one as well) it was really bad. The problem is when season at best are predictable, and mediocre content wise, the fact that lightfall was arguably the worse expansion they released ever, a lot of the player base fell off. Lightfall never should have happened, and the story was terrible. How do you go from Witch Queen to that? Lightfall was a terrible expansion, with a terrible story, and all of the inner workings of Bungie came to light, unsurprisingly, it was all terrible.
@@BurritoReviews So, putting Lightfall's numerous issues aside for a second. Basically just the first season when it was the only post-campaign activity was bad. Which is actually a pretty good run for a year.
I was never able to do the Forges. All of the Black Armory weapons are grayed out in my Collections tab even though I played through all of the rest of the content during that expansion. I just didn't have the time to level up enough to actually get anything. The whole activity seemed so pointlessly time-consuming, I cannot even really remember it.
It seems like he just doesn’t enjoy destiny’s core identity anymore and is blaming the game for it
"My life drastically improved when I put Destiny behind me"
Destiny is not heroin but okay...
The player base didn't want Gambit because they released a game mode and then just did nothing with it, there were plenty of people who liked Gambit, just no support for the game mode behind the scene. Rather than balancing the game mode on it's own, they decided they could not separate it from PvP and PvE and that it would be to hard to balance all 3 game modes with them feeling good.
5:36 akhem - season of the worthy brought back trials in shadowkeep.

this was really a painful video to watch... How can someone spew so much hate towards a game and still continu playing and ranting and playing and feeling miserable and so on and so forth... I would book him an appointment with a psychologist tbh. I have spent more then 13K hours on destiny 2 and it's the one constant game to which I go back to every time (I pause this when something else of interrest comes out, like Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima,...) but Destiny is my one game I love playing, hell half of my gaming room is Destiny related ( displates, seals, posters, figurines, pins,...) so I really cannot understand how you can hate a game as much as he does and still continu playing it. cut your losses and move on, get a life, a dog, a cat, a girl, a guy, something but please shut up about Destiny, he has no idea how things work on a CEO and shareholder level so stop making assumptions just to continue spewing hate over it...
tadaaaa :-) rant over 🙂 nice video though Shadow ;-)
3:00 To be fair it's really hard to recommend this game to a friend. In my case if i were to tell my friend what he needs to buy to play everything with me,i feel shame for suggesting that.Loved the game for years, heck i still love the story and the world, but the rest of the game is in shambles and i can't honestly recommend it to anyone. With this one statement of his i can agree and I personally don't think that any of the serious monetization issues have been even touched at by Bungie, didn't watch the whole video so idk if rest of his negativity is justified but with this i 100% agree
I couldn't disagree more with this guy. I got genuinely angry at this guy while watching. Half the things this guy said made no sense:
1.How do you expect the annual pass to have as much as the DLC?
2.Says Deathbringer quest is hard and doesn't mention D1 exotic quests (looking at you Thorn, Outbreak, Touch of Malice and Nechrochasm)
3.Didn't touch on the raids or dungeons at all
4.Buffs and nerfs are needed to make the game balanced and make it enjoyable
5.WAAAAAY too many puns
6.Weapons are vaulted and reissued, not removed (reminding what The Final Shape did to Datto in 2024)
7.Didn't mention the good stuff that even the bad expansions had
8.Didn't mention the new (both good and bad) systems added in the expansions
They’re taking King is a turning point because that’s when the game should’ve actually been released. Remember how terrible it was before then they basically did beta test and then release the game with the taking King.
Also though he had some decent points, he kinda sounds like a bitter old vet.
I think it's pretty obvious what it will take for people to like Destiny like they did 1, massive content droughts. Coz that's what makes D1 expansions set apart from seasons. They had way more time to make them
Was Into the Light and the Brave arsenal not just an Event version of the whole Exotic Green Engram thing, but mucm MUCH better.
just like the situation with the Old Engram system, that was Bungie admitting Sunsetting was wrong, and doing it with action, no?
I didn't know there was a 3rd channel until this moment, God will number 4 make a debut
It’s not that Bungie is stupid, it’s that Bungie has a hidden agenda.
"Imagine if a season or an episode gave us trials of Osiris" my brother in christ did you not play season of dawn
Apparently, the reason the game could not get too big and they introduced sunsetting was the old playstation not being able to deal with that big of a game file. Imo they should have cut old gen support rather than vaulted content. If they explained it to the players like that, people would have understood, I think.
Also most of the early weapons had static rolls rather than ranfom rolls, and one perk. Much of that stuff can't compare to the guns we have now
@@destructocat1960 I was referring to the reason for sunsetting of locations and content we paid for. The story can't be experienced from the start anymore other than through yt videos. The weapons and their static rolls always could and still can be pulled from collections.
@mythe6669 yeah i was upset when 100 dollars of paid for content disappeared. I left destiny for quite some time because of that
I have been watching your videos for a few weeks now and I must say your perspective on Destiny 2 has been so straightforward, so nuanced and so fair too. you have given credit where credit is due, and you have criticized CONSTRUCTIVELY, which is a lot different from just trash talking bungie. Your guides have been helpful as well. You have a new subscriber in me
I've really really enjoyed watching Renne's D2 vids, very amusing take and angle. But, i think this opinion (towards D2) has become his identity to D2 players. This is not an attack just an observation.
Great third channel, good luck... "👍"...
I just like D2 because I don’t really need to think too hard when playing (besides being in a RAD) and the fluidity of the gameplay along with the complex sci fi narrative of “what are we here for” makes the whole thing just really enjoyable.
This guy clearly is one of fans that loves to complain about every little thing and he doesn’t stop to realize the good enjoyable things about the game. This is a great game the only one of its kind and for him to say he is done after the Final Shape is a total lie. You can never leave after you start playing
House of wolves was incredible prison of elders was my favorite mode ever
I think they should do a classic d2 which would be end of forsaken back and keep the d2 we have now but make the loot transferable between the two
his puns are good haha
I haven’t had as much fun in destiny since the age of triumph. TFS has done a lot for the game
I think destiny could definitely do a halo style content download. Games like cod do it. Dedtiny is obviously a server heavy game like cod, cod is able to do it by just seperating servers to differnt dlc downloads. Destiny could do it. Just easier and less expensive to not do anything
That’s a great point about trials why not introduce a brand new on slot mode if they do it right it could have the same impact don’t let onslaught. Sit like they did gambit
“leave the multimillion dollar company alone” energy
that dude just ignored everything good about destiny. I'd suggest checking out SirDimetrious' video on Destiny, it's essentially the complete opposite perspective on the same topic.
Destiny 2's biggest problem for new players is the fact that you need 4-5 DLCs to be current which ends up being around $300. Also most players don't care about PVP thats why trials wasn't cared for.
He had *some* fair points, but overall, to say d2 is worse than d1 especially in D2’s current state, is objectively, not subjectively, wrong.
its tough to listen to someone complain when you yourself are actually kind of happy and hype for the future. I dont know how you made it through all this lol but i agree with a lot of what you said
The new warlock super can be called an igneous bummer
Their video feels like if you took every "D1 good D2 bad" Reddit post ever, stirred them together, and had AI spit it out as a script. Even playing the token sad Destiny music the moment they go from talking about D1 to D2.
Their opinions are coming from a subjective perspective with a little bit of nostalgia for Destiny 1. They did touch on concerns that have been discussed fairly extensively, but it seems like (as mentioned) he glossed over a lot of high points or merely just never saw them, especially with the lead up to The Final Shape.
There is a lot of talk about "removing content" but then you have to ask yourself: Do you really enjoy the original Arms Dealer strike or do you like the Reprised Arms Dealer that has been adapted to the evolved sandbox that flows much better and is narratively anchored in the current state of the story? Not to mention, we now have -permanent- reprisals of raids such as Vault of Glass, Kings Fall, and now Crota's End. It has also been mentioned they can't just "repack" these activities back into the game 1:1 and they fundamentally do additional dev work to adapt it to the current state of the game.
I would prefer if the game remained contiguous like MMOs such as WoW or FFXIV where any player can start from beginning to the end, but equally jump right into the thick of the current of their own agency. However, some of the oldest content in Destiny 2 needs dedicated dev time to adapt them to the current sandbox and fix any persisting issues. This takes time, labor, and money to do on content a large portion of players are sick of playing.
There is definitely a dissonance between player and dev. Though, I will make note that The Final Shape is massive in filesize and the whole narrative around the Pale Heart makes me wonder if they're going to slowly cycle in the DCV and gradually make the experience of the game "whole" again.
The original video maker is incredibly disingenuous, deliberately ignoring certain reality and facts because those don't support their conclusion.
They're right on the money about a lot of things, but it's hard to trust and agree with them because they're intentionally leaving things out.
The gun zingers got old so quick by the 20 min mark I’m cringing how often he does it lol
His hair colour tells me all I need to know about him.
D1 exotic item quests were much more busywork than D2
As of the end of August 2024, he's looking quite justified. Whilst TFS was great, it didn''t have long legs and so far Echoes has been a total let down. Coupled to another round of lay-offs due to poor management and player morale is at an all time low.
The announcement of the reduction from 4 seasons to 3 Episodes was a hard pill to swallow but in the wake of the aforementioned lay-offs, Bungie changed the deal to One expansion and one 'into the light' style content drop per year, going back on what was previously promised and is not only another slap in the face but it shows again that Bungie's leadership is totally out of touch and tone deaf to its remaining players.
To me it seems Bungie, at this point, are actively driving players away from their only game, which in an over-saturated live service market is a questionable business move and another middle finger to their customers.
It just all seems very disappointing.
Ther wsnt even a sunset in his ending
Complaining about having to do activities and killing bosses to get rewards in a looter shooter is where he lost me. Along with a melodramatic ending of being so excited to quit is a bit much. A 10 minute video saying it turns out you don’t like this genre would’ve sufficed lol
I like how so many points for d1 or negatives for d2 are for both, or not said like the droughts in d1
Exactly, the same point he did for the Deathbringer quest, he could have made about the quests for Sleeper Simulant or the exotic swords in D1. Seasonal activities are just "killing enemies, then a boss appears, then you kill the boss" but Prison of Elders was the best thing since sliced bread. Recycling campaign stuff and strikes is terrible, but the Dark Below and House of Wolves campaigns are fine. And there's even more examples.
I don't think Bungie is stupid. I think Bungie is greedy. (41:30)
I wanted to take a look at how many people there are in destiny 2 on the steam charts and they are the 9th game with the most ammount of players, helldivers 2 is 34th
In defense of d1 sunsetting. They didn't remove half the story 😶🌫
Wow. Dudes selfie cam shots are cringe af. I had to literally look away whenever he came on screen
53:57 why do you guy think you got the change you wanted ??? Because people who had problems with the game STOPPED playing, stopped spending money. This generation of gamer has lost the ability to critically think
I understand some of his points but i have the feeling he wants to be mad at destiny 2 imagine hating a game so much that you need to play the last addon so that you can stop playing the game you hate so much.
Just seems like he focused on D1 as if it was a flawless game and D2 had nothing of value. He made some decent comments, but this felt very biased, and I can't really hold his coverage to be all that great
Me being real the game is too hyper focused on dedicated players so the game ends up being exceedingly non-newby friendly. Like either people get lost in what to do in this game or the toxicity of people who expect you to have 10 years experience runs newbs off.
"Surprisingly it was fine; crucible did not get destroyed by Grapple being op."
My brother in Light- have you tried playing on Exodus Blue in the past year????
This player sounded like a typical uninformed forum user who had half thr into and only understood 1/3 of what he knows and then proceeds to objectify and romanticize the past in a way that completely misrepresents the past.
Destiny has problems. I don’t know if TFS can fix them completely and I’m still not certain if I’m buying it. But there’s a proper accounting for things and there isn’t. This dude’s take is more “Anarchy” than it is “Truth.”
While he has some points, this guy is the embodiment of, “I paid for the game, give me everything,” mentality.
Lanterns is awesome? First time I ever heard that most people detest that part of Krota
Feather light ptsd ensues
That dude sure does dislike this game he keeps playing and paying for.
this guys takes are fucking INSANE holy shit
Dude spent his entire video complaining about shit just the then say “I’ll have to save my thoughts on when I review TFS next month” lmao bro is complaining to complain. Some of them were valid but he sounds like he’s forcing himself to play the game and is mad it isn’t living up to his own self imposed expectations
"They have very limited resources" but they still choose to utilize most them to do eververse stuff while we get the cheap knockoff each season.
25:46 Meh, Javelin-4 is just overall a boring small map, we’ve had other maps like it before, calling it crowded is a stretch, but it’s just super generic imo and they over saturate playlists with it.
Homie might be Darkside Royalty. Although that's giving him too low of praise
I feel like this guy should have stopped playing a long time ago and just moved on. Some of his criticisms are valid, but it's weird that he has so much hostility towards a game he's still playing. I stuck with WoW longer than I should have, but not so long that I couldn't trust video games anymore....
The only thing I don’t like is how raiding is mandatory to get max level and the smexy weapons.
Even then it’s a me problem though 😂
Raiding isn't required to get to max level, you can get pinnacles from all sorts of activities. And if there wasn't exclusive loot from raids, then it would (rightly so) be an outrage.
@@el_androi1203 Ah okay I got ya. Would be nice if raiders weren’t toxic asf so I could get some of the better stuff but I already know the community’s opinion on solo players.
Should’ve stayed with activison
how is bro the biggest bungie defender its grim
I wsh they would bring the forges back
