Thank God I found you. You sir are a hero. You should teach at a University instead of all the professors who pretend to teach, those who go on an on for an hour complicating things and making life harder.
Thank you very much for the very nice comment, yes most things can be broken down into simpler steps.
Brian Swarthout Just one question sir: at 4:15 you say that di is between C and 2f but how can that be possible? since f = (1/2)*C ==> 2f = C, right? so you're basically saying "di is between C and C." Is this right, or am I missing something? Thank you
Al Infinity Yes, you are right, it should say di between C and f. Sorry about that, thanks for catching my error and thanks for pointing it out to me…..that must be a copy and paste error from the convex lenses where it would say the image is between f and 2f when the object is beyond 2f. Again thank you, I will add a note to the video right now.
Simply no other explanation is as clear as this one. I looked in my textbook, I looked at my teacher's notes, I looked at a few other videos, etc., but nothing compares to this one. Thank you so so so much for this video, you are absolutely amazing. I am on my way to watch a few more of your videos to clear up my understanding, and I also just subscribed! I will definitely recommend this channel to my friends. You have a gift for teaching; please don't stop! Thank you~
You're very welcome and thanks for writing such a positive comment!

Great and thanks for the great comment.
Your better than our teacher and textbook combined. XD
That is a lot to be better then. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for all of the comments.

I have a quiz tomorrow in physics and this really helps! Thank you for making it so easy to understand!
Thank you so much I understood it just in a few minutes rather than my teacher teaching for 2 hours.
Great and thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
thank you so much!! i've been banging my head against a wall trying to understand the logic behind ray diagrams. this is the best explanation on youtube
Glad you found the video helpful and thanks for the positive comment.
I've been looking for a decent resource on this for days and this is the first time I've actually seen the effects compared based on the position of the image. I cannot thank you enough, I wish that one day an $80 text book would be half as good as your explanations.
Thanks so much for the nice feedback and glad you found what you needed
this is amazing! thank you for doing this!!! it really helped me with my test!! i received an A+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Immediately clear and effective explanation! I watched some other videos on the same concept and was still confused, but this was the exception for me. Also, I appreciate the length. Some videos are ~15-20min, which can take a lot of time. Thanks for the help!
hapamateo thank you for the very nice comment, yes I try to keep them all under 10 minutes. I try to get right to the point no sense going on about nothing just to hear yourself talk.
I was falling behind in Physics for a couple of months and then I found your channel and I honestly couldn't be more thankful. This is one of the most helpful videos on here, and I'm doing good in physics altogether. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for you comments, glad that physics is going well.
thank u for explaining this to me like a toddler. u taught me everything i need to know for my exam in 12 minutes that my teacher failed to teach me in 2 weeks. very helpful!
Glad I could help and best of luck on the exam!

That is a great comment, thanks for watching.

and I love that lol
your teaching is excellent ... this the first time I watch your video
all I can say .....it's very simple an easy to understand much better than my teacher who has complicated things
keep up hero
Thank you very much for the positive comment.
Goodness gosh! I really didn't knew that the way how the convex lens and concave mirrors form the images in the same manner till now! Thank you so much and that was so helpful rather than studying 10 different ray diagrams!!
You're very welcome. Happy to help!
I learned more after watching 5 minutes of this video than the past week in class. Thank you so much!!!!

Thank you so much. This has helped me dearly understand rays in my physics class. THANKS!
thank you so much for this, it helped me out a lot! i don't understand my teacher because he talks too fast and he's not very good at explaining things, so i've resorted to youtube for help, and your videos are perfect because they give a really good explanation of the concepts and you make it really easy to undertand. thank you so much!

what happens to the size and location of the image when you bring the flashlight nearer to the concave mirror?

Love this video! Just wanted to point out though that in scenario 1 (do>C), you mentioned that di is between C & 2f. However, in the diagram you have it between C & f (and also you mentioned that C=2f) so I think that was a typo!

Thanks! This is a very helpful review for the test I have coming up on this. EDIT: Also, I now understand real and virtual images. The textbook and my teacher were terrible at explaining it.
Yes textbooks often come up with a definition that is a bit confusing. Goos luck on the test. You can also see a listing of all my videos by topic at www.stepbystepscience.com
Thank you sir for your teachings as only because of you I could understand these diagrams. I could score good only because you made it simple for me to remember, many tried but failed and in the end it was you who could tell in such a easier manner. Sir because of you and these diagrams I could score more than I could except.
Thank you so much.

But what is the focus???
Where the light rays come together, are focused. You can also see a listing of all my videos by topic at www.stepbystepscience.com
BTS A.R.M.Y you probably not have taught physics so you are saying it. The focus is a point where the light rays combine together at a point.
BTS A.R.M.Y well focus is that point were the ray which is parallel to principal axis will reflect at!!!!!.....so every ray parallel to principal axis will reflect at point f (Focus

Please watch to clear all the doubts
focus is a point at which light rays pass after the reflection when it incident parralel to the principle axis
