Yes, I am currently writing several books right now. One of which is a superhero comic book that I want to make as an online web comic to the CZcams Platform itself.
I've been a book coach/ghostwriter for business people for more than 15 years and I have seen many clients leverage a book to explosively grow their business. I've seen it happen for Realtors, Financial People, Personal Development people, even CEOs who wanted to consult after retirement. A book immediately places you head and shoulders above any competition perception wise and is one of those life goals you will never regret accomplishing.

I am writing a book right now. I was nervous at first, then realized that with college classes, I have written over 800 papers easy which is equal to about 500,000 words total in six years and received good grades on those papers. So, I feel a bit less intimidated. Good luck to all who are thinking about writing a book. You got this.

Now I want to capitalize on LinkedIn, I want to grow a TikTok channel and now I want to WRITE A BOOK! I'm not sure how you guys do it, but you inspire me week in and week out!
I needed to hear this. I started writing and about two-third the way completed, but I stopped writing it when I became a content creator about a year ago. Today’s program has provided me with the information that I need to get back focused on writing my book. Thank you.
I agree for nonfiction self-publishing is the best route (much quicker and the author has more control). I believe regular publishing is a better route for fiction. Many book stores do not want to put a self-published writer in their stores. The problem is buy back. Bookstores have arrangements with publishers to return unsold books for a predetermined rate. Most self-publishers don't offer this. BTW I'm in VRA and it is great.
Great topic coverage, especially on all the benefits of self-publishing. Love Chandler's enthusiasm, which is even more infectious while listening at 1.25 speed. I've already gone the traditional publishing route; will be self-publishing my next three books. How about a video on some of the self-publishing options? (E.g., digital distribution, not necessarily tools to use. So, if I use whatever to create the PDF (maybe Adobe InDesign or something else), where do I go next, to make the PDF available for sale, possibly with bonuses? I have mine own research, but would love to hear about options.
I might be doing something not right or simply my level of marketing, which I admit, is terrible. I have been trying to build my channel which at first was just a hubby and about two years ago I tried to connect it as an extension to my two sel published (In 3 languages) about the most fascinating city on this planet, Jerusalem, and the land of Israel, yet my books and certainly my channel don't flourish as you guys described. My books aren't just words, they are pictorial too, lots of pictures because I am a photographer too, as well a tour guide and bible teacher, which i combined with my knowledge of archaeology into these book yet I still haven't broke even. I invested time not just writing it but photographing this whole country, not to mention money. Just a month ago I was able to up load the kindle version version of one of them, and soon the printed one, I have been having or the graphic designer some set back, the point is, that I have been trying to build my brand beyond the borders of this tiny country via books and videos yet I keep on struggling, my first book came out in 2015 and 2nd one end of 2019 but with the world crisis everything came to a still, at least the book but even my videos don't reach even 50 people. So, it isn't as easy or glamorous. During this recession I have been working on a 2nd edition of my first book. My target audience are Christian who wishes to learn about this land and where the events they read in their bible took place, yet, nothing... or very poorly.
Still listening - I was also diagnosed with ADD while in college and I've written/published (regular pub) one novel, a novella and several short stories (two collections). I write fiction - horror, which isn't really connected to my channel. I wish I could connect the two subjects... but I don't see it.
I love this book idea as well as the idea of downloadable content you talked about in other videos. I really think I could do this but... something I haven't been able to wrap my head around is the "free mini class" that is often talked about related to this sort of endeavor. How do you know what information to include in the free part so they still want to go on to learn more? Plus, it seems like the content I'd want to use in a class or a book would already be covered in my CZcams videos. I'm guessing you have content answering these questions. Which video would you recommend for me to go find more answers? PS. Thank you. You make a difference in my life.
Sorry. I have written and published fourteen literary works and it has done nothing for me. CZcams and books do not translate into each other unless you are a NYT bestseller and can have an audience from another way. Sorry I don’t see this happening for just anyone.
Well I think the key word there is 'literary' which never makes money even in traditional publishing. Non-fiction and genre books support literary works in every major publishing house. It would be no different for that niche in self publishing. However I know many non-fiction and genre self pubbed authors who do very well. So everyone's experience is different depending on what they want to write about.
