Again, this is intended to be C1-C2 level story but the glossary includes an explanation of the word ‘stable’ or ‘aroma’ while skipping the verbs ‘to waft’ and ‘to scour’!
Hi again Marek! Thanks for your comment. Again, we’d like to remind you that we make these stories in our spare time and they are free of use to you. They are not generated by AI and all words that we decide to explain are done so because they are used regularly in British English conversations. Waft isn’t often used. Whereas stable and particularly aroma are used more often. We want to explain language that is useful in everyday conversations. Thanks for watching!
Hi. First of all, thank you so much for the stories available on your site. At point 2:30 you use the word PLOT and I don't understand its meaning in that context. All the meanings of the word PLOT that my OALD gives don't make sense in your sentence. Could you please explain it to me? Thank you in advance
Where is this cafe ? It does exist ?
Unfortunately not! It’s fictional 😃
Thank you for the channel. I found the stories to be helpful. However, I believe that the subject of this one can be seen as propaganda. The story advocates for resilience, embracing challenges, and taking risks even when faced with the loss of a regular source of income. However, the author fails to acknowledge that many people find it difficult to adapt. Instead, he focuses solely on the positive outcomes of such an adventure. It would be more balanced if the author also shared stories of those people who have failed. So no, I would never do something like that.
Hi Anna,
Thank you for your feedback. We try to make our stories as positive as possible. It's true, they don't always reflect real life but we want to give people reading the stories some escapism from how rubbish life can be sometimes!
