We only camp with the grandbabies occasionally, so we like the 29L a lot better than the 31P as you get much more kitchen storage. We like no transfer switch, in twelve years of workamping we have had to loan out our battery charger several dozen times because folks do no maintenance on them to check for wire tightness and invariably all of them will fail at some point for loose wires on such an important function. For those thinking the portable LP tanks are a pain, we use the Mopeka Bluetooth Ultrasonic sensors which tell you your LP tank levels to a high degree of accuracy and the app lets you have as many sensors as you have tanks. Every RV we owned has lost an AC unit within the two year warranty period, so having two is a blessing and the Winnebago Intent can allow one AC to run while you run the microwave. We camp host in places there is no AC power or only 30-amps available so us having a 50-amp coach often needs to complications when we need two AC's running in warmer climates. We try to camp host in the mountains in summer where AC is not needed. One comment, being a price point unit we do not like the pleaded shades, but I have become an expert at restringing them which isn't all that horrible once you buy the repair kits and learn the secrets. MCD shades are less insulative and with only single pane windows on a price point motorhome there may be a slight edge to staying with the pleaded shades, at least until they fall completely apart and then you can retrofit them with the Slow-Rise Brand of roller shades yourself for very reasonable cost. Matt, we are working on paying off our travel trailer so will be looking for you to give us a good price on a mid-year Intent 29L when we get that far ... so please give us a 29L review soon!!!! Keep up the good work and OH YES, the storage behind the BEDROOM TV can be accessed from the main clothes closet, not by lifting up the bedroom TV (which is fixed), It is like a secret shoe compartment, LOL.

I love the floorplan and at 31', it fits in my driveway. I do agree with you that the latter is too high. I also don't like it when any RV has exposed hookups. All hookups on my '91 Itasca are covered. I don't see why a 2020 anything has exposed hookups. My wife and I love your videos. Keep up the great work!

Matt don't risk any ladder like that, something happens to you or Andrea' ...can't imagine the RV world w/o the 2 of U....

    3. Love the visibility thru the steering wheel.
    4. Ease of getting in the "cockpit area", no clutter.

    6. Bunk area with rod and multi function ...♡
    7. ♡ the sink angled to visit and see living area...
    8. ♡ flooring
    9. Countertop space, ( does need a power tower)
    Dislikes:
1.They couldn't put even 1 solar panel on top!
    2. Would like to see more gray tones and barn siding interiors.
    3. Magizinetype storage area by copilot is needed.
    4. Didn't see a doggy window...
    5. plastic toilet...really!

Hey guys! I love this RV! The two AC's are fine with me - especially the 30 amp. We've stayed at some older RV parks that only had a couple of 50 amp sites (which are always taken). But there are usually plenty of 30 amp sites. And, when you've been on the road all day and you're looking for a place to pull over, relax, walk your dog, and take a hot shower, having a 30 amp can really help with that! Guess I've always had the kind of RV you had to change the plug when switching from generator to shore power, so that doesn't seem like much of a problem at all! I also have no problem with the ladder being higher. Its actually a good way to keep kids off your roof - it's simple to take a folding step ladder and put it in your storage compartment....just pull it out when you need to climb up!
There are so many likes ---- the storage - the swivel seats - the kitchen - love those bunks and the interior colors! Dislikes - gosh, can't think of any!
You guys make the best videos - love ya lots!

Matt!!!! Please, please, please bring a step stool when going up the ladder!!!! We love your reviews! We want you safe and healthy. Next, you need to continue starting these RV's up with the a/c on while you are showing the outside so they are cooling the inside. It will show us that you guys are staying cool in the hot FL weather. I like seeing the videos where you and Andres are comfortable. You guys do an awesome job and I know you work hard. Praying for your much deserved success!
    ***3 things I love
    1-bunks
    2-whole cab area
    3-kitchen
    4-ducted a/c
    ***3 things I don't like

Over all I love this one.

The 3 things I do like:
    1. the interior layout: the seating arrangement, the amount of counter space in the kitchen, the bunk area

    3. the floor plan for this size motorhome

You see the short ladder as a dealbreaker? Really? Cheesh. To me the ladder issue is the absolute least-important. Heck, some RV’s don’t even come with ladders.
All that’s needed is to carry a stepladder to more easily access that bottom rung, something which many owners might do anyway to access the higher interior storage areas.

WINNEBAGO is renown for fiberglass roofs. There is a trend happening with newer models where they are going cheap on the roof which is a HUGE part of RV maintenance and prevention of expensive maintenance later. Even an aluminum roof is better than TPO or especially old school rubber roofs. Don’t go all “other brand” cheap Winnebago, please. Price point isn’t worth losing that Winnebago brand roof. Even if Winnebago takes a hit for the team to keep the famous fiberglass roof, which would be better than being greedy; overall, return and new customers would make the difference regardless.😁

    * We like having a small amount of storage in the dinette table itself.
    * We like the amount of counter space in the kitchen and we also like the amount of counter space.
    Our dislikes:
    * We prefer frameless windows.
    * Where's the doggy window on the passenger side of the cockpit?

Hey Matt and Andrea!!! As always I love seeing y'all's faces and love the video. I saw a little snip last week about a new 2020 Winnebago that looked extremely modern inside with light colors and what looked like a whole new floorplan. It was I think priced either at 299 or 399 but I can't remember as l only caught the tail end. Plus I don't watch any other RV salesmen. I won't ever even be able to own an RV lol and never really thought about it anyway until I happened across your channel and just fell in love with you and Andrea!! So now you're stuck with me and it won't be long before you're stuck with 100,000 and even more subscribers!! 😊 Oh, my point was I would love to see that RV or something similar if you know what I'm talking about and have access to show one sometime Started rambling and completely forgot why I was commenting in the first place 🤦🏻

Good morning RV Review Crew! Hey Matt - you look quite fetching in the blue outfit! Very sharp!
Well, I sit here today with 3 days until retirement and no lumps on my head from the bible-thumps from the Mrs., so this is a good week for me.
And, tomorrow my root canal procedure gets finished! Woohoo! The only thing better than all that is watching another Matt’s RV Review on the Winnebago Intent 31P!
Am I in heaven or what?
    Here we go now…
    In this coach I like:
+I know Matt is wary of 30-amp motorhomes with two A/C units. But Matt is wary about a lot of things, like he was with the new Ford V8-F53 chassis. Given Winnebago’s track record for quality, I want to believe there are technology and electronic advances which allow the 30-amp/2-AC combination to be a viable option for certain coaches. Note: in the SPECS Matt put up, shows the AC unit at 15K, not two-11.5K units. My bigger concern here is how noisy the A/C units are (which is not disclosed)
+24-foot awning = YUGE, I can’t bring myself to complain about it not being armless as I usually do
    +NO CAMP-SIDE SLIDE!
+CONTROLS, DASH, DISPLAYS in the E-450 cab area look fantastic
+Being able to swap out standard propane bottles is very convenient for the owner/operator
Now for things that I did not care for, or I have questions about:
    - I like the undermount (I assume) porcelain sink, it’s very sharp and I notice it is downsized a bit to allow more countertop space in the galley - this is GREAT! However, I did not see countertop-level covers for the sink (like the cutting boards over the sink in the Adventurer model). If sink-covers do not come with the Intent, let’s change that! (minor point, I realize)
-The outdoor kitchen which fits under the YUGE 24-foot awning is very nice! However, was there a propane quick connect? I did not see a propane quick connect? An outside kitchen is not a kitchen unless you can cook or heat something.
-The layout is ok; I am not a fan of the main living area TV partially blocking the windows by the dinette. A better option would be for the TV to flip up and down to get it out of the way of the windows and allow for a larger dinette-area window. Even better to swap the location of the dinette and couch and have the TV on a televator which also allows for a large window in the area if the TV is stowed.
-Not too crazy about the blinds (vs. shades)
-Why was the sealant used on the roof black instead of tan to match the roof? Dicor Self-leveling Sealant comes if tan, why did Winnebago use black? I’d like to know the reason this color of Dicor is used by Winnebago.
Finally, MATT! I don’t have my GRIP6 belt yet! I need to prove to the Mrs. that missing church the day I was selected to win a belt was an actual thing! MATT! It’s not a hot-water heater (you don’t need to heat hot-water), it’s just a water-heater! Also, at $100K, this looks like a great-value motorhome.

Likes: I liked the floor plan. I liked the DIY neutral colors. I like the way the dinette table comes up to counter-top height because it'd be handy as extra food prep space. And I liked the outdoor kitchen (which is huge since I usually say I'd rather have the storage space, but this one just seemed very inviting to use...). Dislikes: That ladder is an accident waiting to happen--boo hiss! I didn't like that there wasn't storage behind the TV in the bedroom (what's back there?). And, although I liked the shower door, the bathroom overall just looked very cheap and generic. Bonus like: I really get a kick out of watching Matt and Andrea. What a great couple. I do like this floor plan and all the space for the kitchen counter. I wish there was a window in the bunk house. The “short” dog house is certainly a plus. I thought it was odd that you couldn’t get behind the TV in the bedroom. I am not a fan of a door to the bathroom into the bedroom. I sleep on that side and don’t want to hear anybody in the middle of the night😉 I was not a fan of the wet bay. I really like the outdoor kitchen but you do lose storage with that. The things I don't understand is how Winabego does a 3way gas electic in the Adventurer, but upgrades it to the all electric compressor fridge in the intent, and doesn't give you the porcelain toilet. Also, I need the 2 more powerful AC, because I can't control my temperature well and o get heat exhaustion supper easy.

From watching your channel I have become a big fan of the Winnebago brand. This one however is a non starter. Your reaction to this motorhome being 30amps gave me great pause so no thanks. I'd prefer a class C anyway. You and Andrea are the best! oh...and LGM!!! :)

Hey! Got my sticker pack today! Yeah! They would look great on the back of this RV! Need one that says, honk if you Matt’s RV don’t like the pleated shades either. But would probably have insulated curtains made anyway. Do like the overall styling. Happy to see the top bunk fold up. Free upgrade to porcelain! Like the head board. But never been a big fan of the bed going crossway . Because they are almost always a short bed. Knew you were going to pick that stupid ladder ! Lol. Thanks to the two of you for another great review.

Keeping in mind this is entry level...
    Pro
    Floor plan and seating areas
    Kitchen area
    Single big slide
    Cons
    30 amp coach
Tiney 4.0 Generator. A/Cs and microwave usage?
    PVC roof seems cheap

It just seems really cheaply made. I know its a price point motorhome. All the mattress look flimsy along with the copilot desk. I never seen a unit with no auto transfer switch. Does not seem to meet winnebagos standards.

I feel its important .if you are a flat lender V8 might be ok .
If you are a mountaineer you need a V10 for strength and durability some times you have spend the cash get a diesel for the power

Even for a budget rig I don't like the propane set up. But that's fixable like the absence of bathroom porcelain and the missing transfer switch. I don't like the wasted space behind the bedroom TV, or having to remember to Jack up the bed before bringing the slide back in.
I do like the layout and the kitchen counter area as well as the oven. For a budget rig, I wonder about how much the tank sizes are value engineered.
You have to be savvy to buy a value engineered product, meaning understanding if there is a shortcoming that can't be acceptably altered to your satisfaction.

Matt and Andrea thank you once again for a really enjoyable review. 3 likes: It's a Winnebago, outside kitchen and access with the slide in. 3 dislikes: plastic toilet, the 1 bay with all the hoses looked confusing and is there a new roof sealant (black) now?

  • @burkcw
    @burkcw Před 4 lety +2

I like the front seat swivel and access because of the less expensive v8. Thats a lot of storage taken by a not so useful outside kitchen which should be optional to cut the price and weight.I like the bunks but those drop down front beds should all be optional on all Class A makes. All power awnings should have the wind sensors and automatically retract when the transmission is engaged.

I agree that should be a 50 amp unit also should be on 22.5 inch tires and I agree that ladder is just terrible also the Winnebago seems to just cheat on the entry-level units and if you purchase one you probably won’t buy another Winnebago I don’t understand the marketing?

👍 Smashy! No cool spot in the shade??? L: cockpit layout with rotating seats; general furniture layout (did you figure out the couch/bed issue?; kitchen and appliances, oven! Outdoor kitchen. D: no auto transfer switch (just how prone are they to failure?); Dang, moob height roof ladder, even for us toned-types it could do us some serious damage; so-so changing space in bedroom; that ""step" sign is such a hoot, not very visible in the middle of the night. Sorry to hear it's getting so dangerous down there in FL, please stay safe you two. 😷😷😷😷😷!!!!!!

  • @MarkRVillano
    @MarkRVillano Před 4 lety +2

Hot tip: You should spend at least five minutes inside these motor homes *BEFORE* you start shooting the video tour, so that you can familiarize yourself with things like turning the sofa or dinette into a bed, accessing various under the seat storage areas, or swiveling the seats. I've seen you just give up on it too many times, and although I realize that you're doing so in the interest of moving the video along, there are a lot of people watching who think to themselves, "Gee ... This guy sells these things for a living, and if he can't get the sofa to deploy into a bed, then it must be pretty damn difficult." As a result, you may have already had a once prospective buyer cross the rig off their list before you've even made it past the refrigerator.
