People call this Godzilla stupid but he was clever enough to NOT fall for the same trap twice
Lets not forget those two separate helicopter ambushes. He's alot more cunning than we give him credit for.
And he tricked the torps into singling one of the subs
The most believable reptilian monster of all of them in appearance and movement. Fleeter of movement. More of a gigantic dinosaur.
Right! Zilla was analyzing the environment and probably thinking “huh this is familiar, I think I’ll
Avoid it”
That's something that I glad they still kept for this godzilla: he learns and is not really just a mindless monster
Fun fact: The USS Indiana and USS Utah were fictional submarines at the time the movie was released, but both names have since been assigned to US Navy submarines
At the end something good came out of that movie
Yes, and there will never be a SSBN-Anchorage. Sailors would never want to sail on a vessel that was destroyed in a movie. Too much bad luck.
@@grimreaperloquendero5830 why are u watching clips of a movie that you don’t like?
Well no because 1. We don’t name our SSBNs after our cities. We name them after our states. 2. The Anchorage was a SSN if you look closely at the captains cover.

Dude, stop roasting this person's comment
Maybe it's me, but this version of Godzilla seems to move faster in water than Godzilla in the Monsterverse films.
It’s because he’s sleeker. He’s built for more speed than power, and I like that
Iguanas I think are pretty speedy swimmers, since he's mutated he's more slimmer and a stronger tail to dash threw the water
I agree, the this one moves.Reminds me of a really big version of an iguana.
I suggest watching KoTM. The way Godzilla travels to different locations on Earth is faster

I know that the Hudson is deep, deep enough for some submarines to enter. But this movie makes it look like an absolute abyssal depth right off the docks. My fear really isn't Zilla, it's the fact that the moment I step into the water it's just a drop off to infinity it seems.
I forgot how strategic Zilla really is.
Well technically he is a radiation mutated lizard not an ancient prehistoric radiation mutated monster with two brains... lizards are pretty intelligent
0:07 - 0:14 These Godzilla steps are just cool, I wish Godzilla would step on me and I would snuggle up to his leg
Zilla deserves a reboot that does him justice.
Such a dope version of Godzilla (Obviously 2014 Godzilla was cooler but Zilla was my childhood).
What went wrong exactly?
People(not me because I actually love this movie) get upset for two reasons:people got upset for the design because of how different it is from the Godzilla in nearly every other movie. The other is the animalistic nature to him. Mostly the fish thing. I counter the latter with this: he’s an animal. He’s literally a mutated iguana. You can see his parents in the opening and a lonely egg near the test site

Why did 90s CGI look so much more realistic than today’s CGI?
It took more effort to make it look half decent and there were fewer studios with this capability. Now that you can basically do this at home, there are a lot of overworked and underpaid artists who don't have the time to put the level of quality into many of their productions.
@@MichaelCasanovaMusic that only applies to SOME situations where the artist aren't given enough time to polish their craft. This movie is NOT an example of good 90s cgi for it's time which is evident by the fact the constant rain was used to hide the unfinished cgi upon the movie's release. In reality, the Hudson River is not deep enough for submarines to operate in.
It would also not be deep enough for Godzilla dive in considering he is about 200 feet tall. It would be a like a man trying to dive in to a 6 foot pool.
They should have made a naval battle between the US Navy and Godzilla in somewhere at the New York Bay. Perhaps let Godzilla swim from Hudson river to the New York Bay, then naval battle would be more logical.

People always have a problem with Zilla because he's not like the OG, but I say that's what makes him very special.
He peeped the situation and was like "yeaahh, not falling for that one again."
As amazing as OG Godzilla is, Zilla has a special place in my heart because of his intelligence and agility.
EDIT: can we please also talk about how he pretended to die to get the humans off his back? Pure genius.
I don't think Zilla pretended to die during that scene, but rather was just knocked unconscious.

I'm more or less fine with the effects on Godzilla in this movie, but I've never been entirely okay with the swimming parts of it 😅
6:21 Why did Godzilla dig instead of climbing out of the water before the torpedoes shot at him? He could have survived. Or was he afraid to go back on land because the army was waiting for him up there?
Try getting out of the pool yourself, it takes amount of body weight adjustment from water to surface, it's damn heavy. And of course the army waiting for him up there.
He was faking his death so the military would call off their attacks and he could return to the city/his nest easier.

Could a sub survive a double torpedo hit in real life? Or at least some of the crew make it out alive?.
i doubt it
Honestly it wouldn’t stand a chance from two torpedoes, hell even one torpedo would’ve probably killed half the crew
Well, one torpedo alone would kill all the crew, they'll just drown to death.
Unless the main character is in the Sub
No chance. One torpedo hit would cause catastrophic damage and death. Plus if they were operating below the surface the pressure alone would kill them if the hull were compromised.
