This doctor genuinely terrifies me. Like a lot of woke nonsense, it seems like it comes from a good place but is insanely harmful. I continue to be shocked time and time again by 1) how stupid some very intelligent people can be and 2) how unqualified people seem to feel duty bound to drive change in a field they do not understand or even try to understand properly. People doing this to other humans without trying to properly help and understand them properly should be locked up for child abuse and/or grievous bodily harm.

Yes, I feel that as well. Sometimes I feel like I woke up in the middle of an Orwellian plot where I cannot longer trust the institutions that I used to look highly upon. The language games and manipulation are particularly madding, when McNamara beliefs herself to be the expert on “disinformation.” The sad thing is, I have kids and I have this nagging feeling that we had it better than them growing up before these ideas about gender identity were introduced in schools and mainstream culture. It makes me angry to think about this.

The feat of being publicly shamed, hanged or straight out cancelled is immense and results in some out of the ordinary behaviour.
People will say and do things not because they believe in them but out of fear for the repercussions if they do not support these believes.
If you look at history such behaviour is mostly showed by people who were being oppressed. Either on a national scale by dictators or on a smaller scale like in individual slaves.
There is also a phenomenon relevant to this. It is called 'mass hysteria'. Know that ever since the invention of television 'mass hysteria' has been more prominent then ever and much easier achieved deliberately even(and yes that happens).
I saw an interview where they asked teenage scholars if 'men could get pregnant'. Most of them answered 'yes ofcourse'.
Now this is an example of mass hysteria. Men cannot get pregnant. The fact that a man or a handful of men in the entire history of mankind were able to conceive a child after numerous surgeries. Dozens of complications and under intense medical observation did conceive a child does not make it so that we can say that 'men can get pregnant'. No the correct phrase would be 'a man got pregnant', it is the exception to the rule.
Those who do not comply with the mass hysteria are often addressed with phrases like.... 'who are you to tell someone they cannot be whatever they want to be' or 'whoever they like to be'
Just for a moment take a breath and realize to what part of society we show the same behaviour and the same reassurance about their self image.... Did you guess it? It is to children. We tell children they can be anything they like.
And only with children we display such behaviour. We treat people as children again.
We believe the exceptions are the rule.
We hang those that have any other opinion.
I have so issues with any Trans person or people who want to transition and such.. However I do think that we should call things as they are and then talk about that.

If the methodology is flawed from the start, it doesn't matter how many people agree with it, it's still flawed. Secondly, "standards of care" are simply the "usual and customary practices within the field." They're not backed by any independent research, and it's not a published, peer-reviewed volume that can be referenced. It's just the accepted way that is practiced by all in that field.

As a retired doc I can say that most patients would be frightened beyond belief if they understood how insane many future doc's there are in every graduating class in every medical school.

Oh yes. I had a surgeon call me all sorts of names after I made a social media comment about not thinking medical transition for children was a good idea. Unfortunately for her, I can navigate my way very well through biomedical and psychological journals (thank you masters degree in public health and teaching human anatomy and physiology for 20 years), and have lived with gender dysphoria my entire life and I have been following the research for over a decade.

To protect a patients privacy and confidentiality, to transfer knowledge, respect for peers, TO PERSCRIBE ONLY BENIFICAL TREATMENTS, and to DO NO HARM to the best of our ability.

She is incompetent in that this garbage actually represents her best ability to do no harm and to only manage patients in a way that benefits them. In such a case she is not fit to practice medicine. Her licence should be revoked.

Some doctors are persuaded to park their morals, when there is money to be made and she clearly comes off as someone who does exactly that. No sincerity in her tone at all, sounds scripted and lacking of emotional integrity.

Parking your morals for a bit, that would be taking the easy way out when your dead tired and burned out, prescribing vitamin tablets to a patient and calling it a day, when you know that instead, you should really talk to them, and discussing a plan to eat a healthy balanced diet for example. That is parking your morals to the side.

This goes much deeper than that. I know many people who get pain meds for their inability to walk properly without them and instead of offering surgery or anything to that extent, they just give them the meds and that is that.

My fiance recently graduated as a P.A. from one of the best colleges in the US for it and they pushed this agenda and ideology HARD onto the students and would actually penalize any student that pushed back on it. I ask because my experience there was learning within the first ~3 semesters or so that no, somehow the idiots do *NOT* get weeded out. There were people consistently asking questions implying they just didn't get it or understand what was being taught, and somehow every semester, they were back.
I think the issue is that determination >>> intellect and qualifications. Any system that seeks to assess someone will always only be an approximation, not an exact science. Degrees are not some magic piece of paper that irrefutably proves someone is good at a field of study - let alone at applying that knowledge in a practical profession - they're just a strong estimate that this person SHOULD be qualified. But at the end of the day, ask yourself this: who are the kids that grow up to be doctors, lawyers and engineers? That's right: the ones whose parents were pushing them to succeed. The minority of these people were passionate about those fields as teens, they were simply pushed into the role. So sure enough, you sometimes get sub-par doctors/lawyers/engineers whatever who aren't passionate about their job, don't really care about what kind of results they get, and all they care about is having that successful position.

I found this: Standard of care is the level at which one performs their duty of care. Duty of care is part of tort law that refers to not causing harm to another person. It is an expectation that all people will act responsibly. Failure to provide the Standard of care is negligence, including injury to a person and any loss.Feb 27, 2022

Standards of care should be based off evidence. In this case they are not. It is based on theory and there is no analysis on long term outcomes if they are benefiting or harming anyone. One of the only American studies looking at such things, published and cited by the APA as their validating evidence has its conclusions redacted because they did not do their stats correctly and all their previously found benefits are determined to be void when done correctly. Still they stand on that paper with no positive results to justify the SOC as valid. It’s hard to even comprehend what I’m seeing the failure in science is so severe.

This is a perfect example of someone who studied something and yet they don’t understand it. As a healthcare provider, we always approach medicine based on evidence based medicine. Granted, there are sometimes we have to step outside that and weigh benefits vs risks to provide the best alternative for a patient. She needs to sit down and go back to her first year of medical school and review what journal club is all about.

ToTK did very well sold over 10m copies in half a week... their game is a massive success, and it will see another rise in millions when they finally release their new system that can run BotW and ToTK and Hyrule Warriors at 60fps remastered at full 70 dollars

Like Dan Crenshaw said 70% of people are against this ideology (I think its actually more, but people are scared of being called names). As a medical student, you should know that standards of care are established without the input of every single practitioner. She is following protocol, regardless of the outside perspectives on this matter. She is doing her fkn job, and to assert she's causing harm is based on hot air - and definitely not statistics.
