  • School of Medicine Professor Kafui Dzirasa joined President Barack Obama on a panel discussion in October at the White House Frontiers Conference in Pittsburgh. Dzirasa, Harvard Professor Atul Gawande, patient advocate and cellist Zoe Keating and scientist Riccardo Sabatini shared ideas about the future of medicine and health care innovation. Dzirasa provided a short tutorial on the workings of the brain and how the next steps in research will require a bold engineering approach.

Engineering is good for physical systems. The human is not just a physical system. It has a non-physical system that is far more superior in all respect. Based on this premise, it is wrong to apply engineering principles.
You must learn about the non-physical human by asking the Chinese Traditional Med & Ayuvedic teachers. After this basic education, you can then decide if you can further your education in the correct direction.
At the moment, you are on your way to cause more harm.

So, what is this "next big idea" in Brain-Research?
    Its not said. Is it?

He said the next big thing is to understand how information processing occurs in the brain so he can intervene.
