This is a vintage blowtorch produced by Unis France around 1910.
Most part of the job was polishing.
I really wanted to test it but many people told me there was a risk of explosion. I still need my fingers for a while so I decided not to ignite that antique blowtorch.

i know people are loving the brass but for me its the freshly filed knurling that just hits different
I am very partial to brass and copper items - those literally are reborn when you polish the item - it is so rewarding. Great job.

I do understand that these are very dangerous, but at the end of the video,As most people are waiting to see, The final test of it!
I would have definitely nickel plated the handle, it would’ve took a quite a few times of plating And sanding, but the final outcome would’ve been awesome! But nonetheless, excellent job on the restoration!
And a spray of clearcoat, will keep it brilliant and shiny, since you are not going to use it.
I should have varnished it you’re right. 😌👍🏻

You won't lose any fingers. I have a working five pint paraffin blow lamp which I occasionally use for silver soldering. I am rather non plussed by this lamp though because there does not appear to be a pump. Am I missing something?

C'est quasiment un objet d'art maintenant ! Le fonctionnement n'est pas vraiment dangereux, mais ça va lui enlever son magnifique rendu !

Good decision not to test this blow torch. Better safe than sorry...
c'est fou comme un simple outil de travail du siècle dernier deviens quasiment une œuvre d'art!
Ces chalumeaux sont dangereux a régler quand ils sont neuf ou refait comme ici, ce qui est sur , c'est que sa dépanne bien quand on se retrouve sans gaz, de 91 a 94 je bossais avec un artisan qui fabriquait des pièces de rallye , l'alu était anodisé et l'acier peint, je chauffais au chalumeau les pièces pour faire tirer plus vite la peinture en hiver et a plusieurs reprises il m'est arrivé d'utiliser ce petit chalumeau, je préfère ceux avec le manche en bois.

@@TheFabrik des-fois faut être plus fort que l'envie de tester et penser a sa sécurité. pour les réglages c'était le père de mon patron ancien plombier qui s'en occupais, par contre cette mèche fonctionnera pas, trop vielle.
