Good info but id highly recommend having it sunk into the ground so that it acts as a barrier against the rhizomes creeping in as they would just crawl right under that. A good rule imo is 50/50 or 1/3 above ground/below or have it at the cut height of the grass you prefer.
Thank goodness I did not receive the bill yet I didn’t think we upu a was away qaqaaaaaqqqqqqqqwq qqq’t
this is my issue with my Zoysia. Creeping rhizomes. That's why I'm looking a metal edging vids.
Thanks for giving this lady the confidence she needed...Took 2 seconds! No more mulch pouring into my driveway when it rains.
You are welcome...it works great!
This should be set into the ground to prevent grass roots from invading your flower beds. How deep depends on the kind of grass. But usually 1.5" to 2". It will also make the edging more stable.
Landscaping is one of the most gratifying job's.. Looks awesome
I used that in my backyard! Works great. I reinforced the joints on the inside with some left over rebar because my mower guys use the industrial mowers.
So glad I ran across your video... hubby and I looked at these last weekend... definitely buying some and getting my flowerbeds done this coming weekend! Thanks for sharing!!!!👍
Awesome Jennifer...get ready to pile in the much afterward...but you'll really like the look and low maintenance
Trade help works well and makes for good neighbors. Good info on the edging.
Yes it does!
That’s great it’s really nice , never used it before but I might now it looks good and easy!!
You're such a real person. I love it.
Thanks buddy
Years later I used your advice and still looks good. Installing more tomorrow and needed to refresher. Thanks again.
Looking great.. very educational.. Every time you said tap it the movie happy Gilmore came to mind when he was talking to the golf ball..
Wooooooooooo!!!!HeeeeeeeeeHeeeeeeeeee!!!!ALright!!!! 🤗. Love watchin ThE FarM!!!
Was thinking about trying this out this weekend, and now you have this gal convinced! Thanks for such a great video. I love when people truly want to help others and are just genuine and authentic. And funny! Great personality and easy-to-follow steps!
thanks Amy
The hardest part for me, a 63 yr old lady, was separating the stakes from the metal edging. I was able to by using a sparkle tool & hammer to separate one welded area and then bend back & forth. Nice video. Thanks!
“Or be ashamed of it and fix it later” - Glad I’m not the only that happens to sometimes!
Love hearing your voice.I will put your vlog on and go about what I was doing.you explain things very good.thanks Lisa. In Ohio
I was just outside in my yard trying to put this edging down for the first time and decided to come in and watch a video to make sure I was doing it right! I'm so glad I did because it was trying to pound it into the ground without snapping off those stakes! Thanks so much for the video. You're a fun guy to learn from :). Keep on making videos and watch out for those turds!
Glad to help!...If you watch the "this old house" version..they say to burry it....to me it makes no sense...it's great for containing mulch and establishing a nice barrier ...thanks for the positive feedback brotha...I hope you'll stick around and enjoy the channel!
helping neighbor, how nice is that!
Only thing I would say to help with getting it to anchor well is to use rubber mallet to hit the center of each piece first so it doesn’t seesaw on you
I just put this stuff before watching any videos and I realize I didn’t connect the pieces right but it works lol I overlapped them a ton but theyre all staked very flush. Hammer works if you dont have a mallot but it will rough up the piece you are putting in a little. My landscape turned out pretty dang good for no experience. Id recommend this to everyone
Planning to edge my driveway with this edging! This video will help me GREATLY!!!!!!!!!!
More great info!
And Swooper ain't lying!👇 river rock looks awesome as bedding!
Thanks man! I got a tool to make it go a little more in the ground. I appreciate it. Such a helpful video for a first timer
You’re great man, gave me and my girl a chuckle and good tips
Love this! Great video and very encouraging!
Thanks Glad you enjoyed it!
I've always been one to just edge flower beds to keep the natural feel. Great job anyhow.
I agree with you 100%....when we had our traditional stick built house with foundation...I'd just make my rounds every year or so digging a small 4 inch trench around the flower bed...tossing the soil back up agianst the foundation to make water flow away from the house....it's a very good practice that I learned as a boy....now with the mobile home it's a bit different....we cant throw the dirt up against the "skirting" (stuff under the trailer) so edging was my best option to build up a nice bed for planting...thanks for your comment CJ...now ya have a bit of my logic
Thanks for this video. The edging looks good, bro!
Looks good man ! Nice job !
Wow Sir That Was Beautiful And Awesome
Wooooo! Your song is genius, you just need more cow bell, lol! Great channel👍🏾
LOL
Your suppose tap the edging in ground half inch or 3 quarter that why it have slots in middle for stacks . ™💯
Looks awesome josh btw you have awesome neighbors
Thanks man
Great DYI video and I didn't know about the spikes already on the sections!!
Hello, thank you so much for the great video! 👍🏻
Thank you for making this video
I really like this guy ! Nice attitude !!
Oh yeah....gonna be lovely.....
Love that stuff. Looks great!
Thanks!...Gonna look even better once I get more mulch and flowers in place
Great Work!!!
I switched from mulch to river rock check it out looks so much better than the mulch the weeds have a hard time getting through you can also get recycled glass it looks good in the beds mixed with the river rock
I would love to see a pic of the river rock with recycled glass.
What a great video :) thank you for not swearing at all, we greatly appreciate it and your kindness.
Yessmam.....I might have one curse word in all 500 of my vids...I hope you subscribed to see our farm adventure!
Great video, Thanx👊
✨ Thanks for sharing! 💗
Awesome demo. Thank you.
Did that this morning. Slung mulch as well. 8 yrds. worth of mulch. Gonna be tender tomorrow. We used the green. Good stuff.
Awesome!
Lol try doing 64 yards😂
CJ Young that’s a long career in landscaping. Keep you in shape.
Average cost $$$ ?????
"be ashamed of it and fix it later",...yeah, I identify with that comment. Thanks for the tips. I'm installing this type of border, and yes, it comes in black (too).
That looks beautifull!
Thanks...mulch goes in today!!!
I just love how to break things down! I’m a newbie. Subscribing
Thank you Josh again!
You are very welcome sir!
Nice work
Great job Sir.
I've never used that before. So I thought I'd look up a tutorial. Thank you for your information. I have to do my neighbors today. I'll let you know how it goes.
Goonies. Good flick!!
Heck yea!!!!
Thanks a lot for this video!
Hi Tony, thanks for your demo. One problem I came across was hammering the stake into a rock that made the stake bend. Best to test with a screw driver where you stake is going to make sure no hard rocks there to bend or block the stake.
lol...well, I'm josh ...you do need to check for rocks...and if ya hit one ya might need to reposition and try again
Nice work man! And nice Happy Gilmore reference. “Just tap it in.”
I was already trying to work out what that quote was from. Thanks for saving me being kept awake by it. Ha.
Good stuff, thanks!
Thanks for the info!
Be proud of it, or be ashamed and fix it later....put it on a T shirt Josh!! Copyright it!!
Love ya brother!!
lol thanks buddy
nice ram im a huge dodge fan hard belive our plow truck is 20 years old still working like a tank woooooo
Thank you for sharing the video and God bless you sir
Thanks for always producing realistic, real world projects that people can relate to and learn from!
Nice Video, Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I’ve had the supplies for a month.
not a bad job ....just takes a little head scratching
I've got a path way that needs this. Thanks!
Good Job Explaining, but I am planning on hammering part of mine into the ground to keep mulch behind it. Thanks for posting the video!
Great vid dude
Hi..... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
Hi Josh, looking very fine, I used half log edging once! Never again it rotted in no time,
Yep this stuff should last 50 years!
If that's steel, it will rust eventually. Spend extra for the aluminum pro grade that installs the same way.
Not offered at my Lowes
I used an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to get the stakes off. couple zips on the spot welds and they fell right off.
When we do beds around our house I fine that that edging doesnt hold up as long as the thicker stuff the landscapers and professionals use, It's basically just flat stock steel.
Great video, wish I could see how to bend into a right angle and also how to cut or "break" by fatiguing without a saw...wish in one hand and spit in the other, as the old saying goes. Wife wants an absolute square so bought corner squares, but am going to need to make right angle bends and cut a few....will figure it out. Great Personality in your video and will watch your videos for my next projects...very helpful overall! Thanks!!!
WOW that view behind you Place looks like a Golf Course Put a 19 flag up on that hill LOL Grass came in good!
Thanks....I hope your subscribed to the channel....we're clearing land for a big beautiful farm! And possibly a wedding venue!

Personally I don't like the look or safety of the metal edging up above grade that much. I think if I am going to do it I would pound or bury the edging to about 2" above grade. Just enough to keep mulch in the bed and still allow to string weed eater the outside edge.
Thanks for your video.. Show us after you added the flowers in there..
it would have been nice to see the finished edge after line trimming. Thanks for the video.
hmmm...you mean after cutting ?
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I mean it appears to be good quality product and the grass was a little long next to the edging. In my opinion it would be nice to see the grass line trimmed up next to the edging. Everyone has there own taste and I'm expressing mine. After all the effort to install it and show it I would have grabbed the weed whacker and line trimmed to make it pop.
Take care.
Well done -- you are a good teacher and the projects provide useful information -- Thank You for your efforts!
Thanks!
Just found your channel yesterday been watching all day. I need ideas for cheap privacy fence.
Pine trees!!! Hillbilly privacy fence....really it depends on where you live
Stoney Ridge Farmer hahaha in Iowa. Guy next door is mental, I need something fast and cheap as possible and taller the better.
Lol I love how you talk about never have your tools in the dirt or an the ground 😆 6:47
But really it looks great and what are these called? Or what brand?
You for got tootsies roll patrol know worries we all do your the man love your channel
thanks for this video - what brand of edging did you use? Has it held up?
Woooooo!!
Nice seiko !
had it for about 6 years now....best darn watch I've ever owned! Just had it serviced and new crystal put in...what a great watch!
Nice
Hi Josh i like the edging but wouldn't it have been easyer to edge and clean out the beds first
Nice job!!! Can you please provide the company name and link to purchase the Metal Landscaping Edging!!! Thanks!!!
Where did you find those seat covers they look wonderful
The sooner you get to it the sooner we get through it!
Older video but it's still serving! Thanks for this! Can anyone tell me how I can make sure I don't hit any irrigation lines. I have a couple of heads near that I want to wrap around. If anyone can help a lady not create a disaster it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
The grass will creep underneath the new edging so it needs to be 2" into the dirt as recommended by the manufacturer, right?
Thinking of using this as a barrier between my neighbor. My yard slopes slightly downward towards the street but levels out closer to my house. How would I adjust the slope to it being level? Any help would be grateful.
Hello have you figured out yet?
Thanks for the class brother. Where did you get the seat covers for the truck? Mine are getting ripped up on my RAM.
I found a guy on ebay that sells them....he sells them as a pair or individually.....might get brave and do an upper seat with that seat belt mound.....probably regret it lol
Very cool where did you get this edging?
Josh D
Looking awesome man. I always give you a thumbs up. The question I can't understand is who is giving you thumbs down bunch of idiots.
Keep up the good work looking great nice property can't wait to you get some cows . Then the fun begins where do you see the size of those landmines. My neighbor has a dairy farm. I live out in the country and I like it that way country Song ya know.
General repair
Haters will hate!
"Just tap it in. Just tap it in. Give it a little tappy. Tap Tap Taparoo."
I went straight to the comments as soon as he said that to see if anybody would say anything about that...and I wasn't disappointed 😂😂😂👏
Hi what did you do at the downspout?, the edge is blocking? Thanks
put an extension on it
Did you ever get your carrier bearing fixed. I love your farm by the way
LOL....I have not yet...I think I'm gonna go buy a press to do the job...I have a buddy with a press but he's not into the camera thing at his shop :(
Stoney Ridge Farmer cool thanks just making sure I didn’t miss anything
Stoney Ridge Farmer you always need a press it will make jobs that require so painless
Lowe’s only has 4 foot sections. Where did you get longer lengths?
Good Info, but how do you cut the edging? For example I want to edge a flower mound, but not sure how to cut it if I have too much length.
Take a hack saw and cut it my friend
