I was 15 years old, and went to visit family in Germany in 1996 (I'm from South Africa). And my cousins were dating two guys from a German boy band called Konstruction - yes, that's how they spelled it - opening for the Backstreet Boys. They invited me to their concert. I was, like, "Who the hell are the Backstreet Boys?" Remember, this was two years before they broke big. Long story short, I went to the concert, and I was blown away. I've been a Backstreet Boy fan ever since. I'm now 36 years old, and I still have their CDs, and more than a few of their albums on USB playing in my car constantly. Thanks guys for 21 years of memories......

I just went to BSB’s DNA concert last night here in Denver, Co! THE BEST concert I’ve ever been to. THE STRONGEST, THE CLEANEST SOUND SYSTEM I HAVE EVER HEARD. Performance was on point. AWESOME intro. They deserve that Number 1 spot!!!

David Theisen fereel, and Dream Street looool, they were like O-Town, they came out near the end of the whole boyband phenomenon, like 2001 when I was 11/12 they dropped they're first single I never liked them. They don't get a listing that's how bad they were....lol. At least Jesse McCartney made a career for himself.

Recently went to a Backstreet Boys concert and they deserve #1 they give you a damn show!
People kept saying Westlife and 1D, but they didn't know how big Take That were back in the days. They have received eight Brits Awards. Having eight number one albums on the UK Album Chart. They also had 56 number one singles and 39 number one albums internationally. Their sixth album Progress became the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the second fastest-selling album in British history at that time. In 2011, Take That set the new record for the fastest-selling tour of all time in the UK. I think no. 3 is fair for them

Backstreet Boys have a great history and amazing songs with really sensitive and heartful lyrics and they were tremendously successful in their era and till today even though they've grown up..at that time there was no youtube internet etc and these guys left their mark in this type of music by doing music and only..now the bands or singers are mostly into shows and physical appearance rather than music itself..I've heard 1D some times but they never left me an impression of a deep feeling or spectacular music or something.. it just reminds me of just a common teenage band and nothing more..but that's only my opinion tastes in music change day by day now if this is for the best or the worst we'll see:) Bye!

Just went to BSB concert. They totally deserve to be first. Great vocals, great dancing, every song is catchy. Soooo good. It either had to be them or NKOTB.
I guess many of you didn't know how famous Nkotb and Take that were during their time. They were huge compared to the other boybands in the later years. They paved the way for all the boybands, especially all white boys 😀 but i cannot argue with BSB being on top. They still got it goin' on...

They are just simply amazing. They treat each other as brothers. They care for each other and never left anyone behind. Unlike any other bands in the 90's they made their way up even if they had difficulties. They are my inspiration. All other boybands from the 90's no longer make music but they are still , with their own music. I love them until I live.

Watch the concerts, watch the members, the songs, I recommend that you watch, concert in Berlin and Manchester, they danced well and live sounded very, not a single mistake, all well prepared and professional

In my opinion, Take That is the best "boy band". They are not even a boy band anymore because they have already grown as artists a long time ago now. Individually they might not be the best singers or dancers but overall creatively they are pretty much the best of the "boy band" genre. They don't need songwriters. Particularly with Gary fricking Barlow you have the best bandleader and chief songwriter you can ask for. I mean, "Back For Good", "Patience", "The Flood"? Are you kidding me? These are bloody good pop tunes 👍.

I was born in 1975 so my boy band was NKOTB. I missed the mixup tape tour because I was in the hospital and rehab clinics since December 2018 and in a coma until March 2019. I was in rehab clinics until August 2019. I am still in a walker and am only 44 years old.

Westlife is the most underrated boy band in history. They deserve so much more, but people always has the inclination to listen to shitty music with shitty lyrics instead of deep, soulful songs that actually makes sense.
Yes. Yes I agree so much with this. I really hate how a lot of music, especially those by boy bands, these days seems dedicated to rabid fangirls who want nothing more than to be the girlfriends of the artists.
I heard some of their songs that they performed on this list. Westlife sounds like that they are a good boy band.
Most of their Hits were covers and they released so many albums. They were just doing it for the money it was always clear.

it's hard to answer reverse-racist (technically, a racist, just a black one) comments but i can agree on b2k to be in this list... and he said "my teenage time", which is millenial time (late 90s-early 2000s) .. you can add d12 (minus eminem) too, but it's hard to think d12 or b2k sing a slow lullaby making all the girls go romantically crazy.. plus, the last time i checked simon webbe was black..and mj was white.. (uh oh, i forgot blackstreet... )
