    Its almost as if the OCG gets treated way better than the TCG & as a result player interest & attendance goes up
    Oh yeah & locals are suffering in the TCG so there's that too.

    • @Wortigon2000

      last 2 times I attended locals, the number of competitors fell to less than half. (over 20 the one before last, only 9 the last time)
      It is indeed suffering to find people to play with around here. (TCG)

      All their cards are cheaper while super over powered cards are hard to pull there it’s not like that in the ocg they also get many rarity when they open packs. So like s.p little night is super hard to pull and expensive but over I’m Japan it’s a rare and not hard to get lol but they also have high rarity versions. They treat yugioh over there the way they treat Pokémon you get can the card in higher rarity and lower Rarity so everyone gets the best cards

    The OCG and MD are pretty much the same with the same banlist (pretty much) so it makes sense that the OCG's tournaments would also be MD style. TCG out here just being by itself, as usual 😂

    • @jtalkalot19
      @jtalkalot19 Před 3 měsíci +1

      It's only their YCS. They've been doing them since 2018. Because they generally average like 3000 people they are best of one 7 or 8 rounds of swiss.

    • @julias01

  • @bobjones4469
    @bobjones4469 Před 3 měsíci +1

    OCG is best of 1 but they need to lose twice to get knocked out, no? TCG you lose one game and you're out, I believe.
    Hard to say which I prefer, the Side Deck has both pros and cons.

    I wish there was more events in the TCG. I’m waiting on my state (northern Wisconsin) or Minnesota to add a regionals to the list and we still don’t have shit. We’ve had regionals every year, several times a year, since I started in 2014. Why is there nothing going on in 2024? I’m not buying fucking product if there’s nothing to play it at since locals in my area is completely dead. I was so excited for the gate magician support and I never got to play it. Now I’m pumped for gimmick puppet support and I swear if I buy all this shit and still don’t have an event to play it at I’m quitting. I’ll play fucking magic and go to locals for that instead

  • @spicymemes7458
    @spicymemes7458 Před 3 měsíci +1

    I wonder how much of this has to do with LGS dropping yugioh product and/or local events in the last year. After all, if locals go away, the next best thing you can do if you want to play in person is regionals and YCS. I'm not sure how much of this attendance record is excitement for the game vs a matter of necessity.

      If all locals suddenly went away then that is going to suck big time for a lot of players who are only able to go to locals and can’t afford or even have the time to go to multiple regionals or Ycs tournaments especially for ycs tournaments that are in other states or countries.
