@@OnionChoppingNinja is correct. A lot of bugs didn't really come along until insect flight got really popular because of how it exploits the physics engine. Sometimes the high frequency of the wings would sometimes lead to molecules shattering the insect's shell due to clipping when the wings would exceed the programmed maximum frequency of 256 Hertz. The devs decided that instead of removing the mechanic of flight, they would instead embrace the bug and the devs upped the cap to something nearly unthinkable, 1.855 * 10^43 Hertz as reverse engineer Max Planck managed to find while trying to reverse program the game to figure out why the famous "blackbody radiation" glitch couldn't be recreated.

Anomolocaris was great, it was such an adaptable build.
I remember an old video called 'beating the Cambrian explosion by only pressing forwards.' Turns out that player accidentally discovered the filter feeding mechanic and unintentionally revolutionized aquatic builds.
Yeah, while I started off as a trilobite, I built up to being an Anomolcaris and enjoyed being a top tier life form. It sucked that it was banned but at least all Anomolcaris players got to play as sea scorpions in exchange.
The classic shrimp build has a variant where you glue your head to a rock, and wave your limbs around, gathering food like a sessile filter feeder. The "barnacle" can even glue its head to human constructs such as piers. As for reproduction, you won't believe how the male reaches the female...

I mean it's when the first proto arthropods and proto molluscs developed, we had the first jellies, the first sea anemones ...... Plus some really cool things that I wish didn't see their player base shrink to nothing so that they could play the other classes, I personally think that trilateral symmetry is cool
At first things were way more interconnected, so that meant to balance 1 build, they also touched many other builds because they shared a lot of the same DNA-game-code. Until the players finally made some more diversity could they get into making a balanced meta. I do agree though, that they should have tried a bit more themselves to create less entanglement within their code, but when making a new game, it is often hard to see how much you need to split all the code in subsystems, and it turns out the deva underestimated this and had to rewrite a big part of the code again.
And the Kickstarter campaign lasted 10 billion years! I don't know why they were insistent on getting the stretch goals of 7 other planets. Their base goal of one star and one planet ought to have been enough.

Yeah, oxygen decreases stink. It's why I stopped playing as any arthropods after the Carboniferous period as the idea of being tiny and easy prey for much bigger vertebrates wasn't appealing. As for the oxygen decrease in the Cenozoic era, I didn't really notice it as I was playing mostly as terrestrial birds or as large mammals though I DID play as a terrestrial crocodile on the Asian Server in the early part of the Cenozoic era until they were outcompeted and driven into extinction by mammalian predators.
Looking head to the next stage, I recommend a build optimized for high atmospheric CO2, tolerance for high temperature in each biome, and - this is key - tolerance for low pH.. That's where the meta will go, as human industrialization results in global oceanic acidification. Calcium carbonate builds such as coral are already in major decline. If oceanic pH breaks most or all of the photoplankton builds, entire biomes will become unviable.
Whether flowering plants will retain their current streak, depends on either (a) a pollination strategy without bees or (b) bees coming back into major play after humans die out and stop spamming insecticides.

That’s the problem with open world systems like this: there are just as many ways to screw up your character stats and become a joke as there are ways to optimize it. It’s easy to end up with complete cheese if you don’t know what you’re doing!

Opabinia was my favorite build to play, even if it wasn't the best. The high perception stat coupled with the success rate of catching prey provided a fun experience when I began playing.

With the expansion Cataclysm, the devs added the flying mounts, making travelling too easy and fast, taking away lots of opportunities to meet other players, and that for many players was a step towards the death of the social element in WoW. To me it's not a big deal, because the new contents are always flight-locked. I recommend checking out the game, even if the current expansion sucks (it has a monthly cost, but it's still worth it imo, it's a great game)

This was very nostalgic. I remember when Earth's Alpha first came out, it wasn't that apealing when I first played, but once Mars' servers got shut down permanently I started playing Earth a lot more. I also remember all the hype for Earth's beta, I hoped there would be some similar like creatures from when Mars was in beta, it turned out to be much better. Earth was the best game, until the human race was added to the game.
Oh yeah, the old game! I never played, but it seemed like Earth Beta up until the end from vids O watched.

Tierzoo was actually wrong about that. Anomalocarid builds weren't banned until the end of the devonian. They were substantially nerfed though. Look up the schinderhannes build.

The tardigrade is basically the strongest animal in the world. Rivaling that of the strongest predators because the tardigrade could survive a nuclear explosion, in high temperatures, cold temperatures and even survive for a decently long time in space.

Those were the good ol days, I remember choosing the Anomalocaris every single time, I wasn't very good at the game at the time but it was still super fun.
Man, I miss those days... I was just 9 when I discovered this game. It was the most popular game of the time, it was cheap as well. Sometimes I wish newer builds still had crazy size AND armour instead of the best armoured builds being 1.5-15 cm. But hey, it's much more fair now, and IvI (insect v insect) runs are still relevant and fun.
I thought minecraft was cheap when it released.

I am A Outside beta tester and have some things to clear up. The anomalocaris is the master variant of opabinia and it was the meso predator test. We intended the trilobite to have more mobility but a bug in the games code made it slow. Hallucigenia is a weaker and cheaper upgrade in its defense skill compared to the trilobites great defense stat. The land mass was intended to have arthropods living on the land servers. But a glitch in the code made all players suffocate on the land servers. So we had to make balance patches until the glitch was fixed.

I know the guy that made anomalocaridis, his username was Dino Cardio (the whole class of anomalocaridis was named after him). He also made some more interesting builds like Dunkleosteus.

Nah, thats only in the titan expansion dlc, we are playing the vanila server so we should be fine
@@arandomguy4409 yeah but the movies expansion (all) allows us to see other servers before we go there. There’s also another server where the squid class won in a war between the human class and became like them. That server is found in the interactive movie update (all), called the gaming update by the devs because they wanted it to sound like the thing we are in. Also, there is only one dev (any type mini-class)-CZcamsr (human mini-class) since the dev class didn’t want to spread info. It’s tierzoo!

It might be B tier but I'm a Opabinia main, I remember logging on for my first match and picking Opabinia since I thought it looked interesting, it was so fun destroying trilobite players with my trunk, they always think they are invincible against predators then I flip them and 1 shot, and when I see a Anomalacaris swimming for my life and hoping I got away. Such great memories, I wish beta was still available all the sweats keep picking the meta and I can't have any fun anymore, R.I.P the good old days.
