The national tragedy that was mentioned was the Sewol Ferry sinking in 2014 where 300+highschool students drowned when the ferry sank. They were told to stay where they were at while the captain & crew escaped. Not only that the government and authorities handling of the tragedy was an atrocity in itself. The then president was eventually impeached because of how she handled the tragedy.
The song is called Spring Day. You guys ahould check out the MV and then watch the explained video for it by Bulletproof Vibes. That aong is still charting in Korea to this day.
5:06 my cousin is an exo-l and she was in the kpop scene way before I became an ARMY. She's not a fan of BTS, but she shares this sentiment about the influence BTS has for the kpop industry in the western market.
when ARMYs said that no one doing it like BTS, we mean it :(( glad that you guys understand that now! a bit of funny story about their soundcloud music, as you know that they released their music on soundcloud for free right? this happened when ddaeng dropped. the music is so good that ARMYs can't believe that they released it for free. we even begged them to release the music on paid streaming platforms so we can buy it because honestly they deserve it. but they were like "nah guys this music is our present for you" and we were like "let us paaaayyy this music is too good to be a free track" and yeah that happened for quite a while. the connection between them and their fans is mutual, you know. we can feel their sincerity, their constant effort to communicate with us like really we never feel like the love is one sided. also have you guys watched their MMA 2019 performance? they have the video on their official channel, so go check that out :D
Kpop Stan’s should be grateful for bts, they literally opened the doors for kpop like after their appearance on many shows other kpop groups were able to get on them, like even on buzzfeed and Ellen with superm and the views of kpop music videos jumped, I remember seeing how the biggest views was around the 300 Million mark but after bts blew up now the average views for big kpop mv’s are 600 Mill and up

Hey Efra here ✌🏼. We would love to, unfortunately The Late Shows and other TV Broadcasters are really hard on reaction channels and get our videos blocked or taken down so if you never see reactions from TV Shows like Ellen, the late night shows from us etc this is the reason.
I think if u pause enough during the performance then u can get away with it. Also a lot of other reactions Channels have done this and they haven’t been copyrighted. Btw the late late show didn’t post the performance rather it was a fan account.

Because of BTS being so hugely successful, being the band of the century & being in untouchable heights, Korea, Korean culture & K-pop in general are getting the attention and chance to be explored and be successful as well. Because of them people all over the world are actually diving into k-pop and artist of the past & present are getting more & more views, recognition & success. All the success every Korean artists will see from now on will have a lot to do with BTS. You can't actually deny or ignore the exposure BTS brought to Korea & Asia as a whole, as much as that now when someone walks down the road and hears a Korean song playing it doesn't seem weird or awkward to listen to & people actually pays attention which was unheard of just a few years ago.
So, that's actually something to be thankful for no matter if you like them or not.
