My first encounter with an electric guitar is when I saw a stratocaster leaning against an amp on the stage of my secondary school assembly hall. Oh my. That's the sexiest thing I ever saw. The lines were svelte and it looks futuristic. Despite owning several dozen guitars now, I still think it's one of the sexiest design out there. One which is so often copied and admired. And it's so practical. Truly one of Leo's best design.

Nice Strat, and your playing displayed virtually EVERY tone a Strat can give. LOVED that funky intro! I was rather amazed at the sound of the bridge humbucker, though. It sure sounded like a Strat single coil bridge pickup to me.

Beautiful guitar Jon! I have to say the Player series have brought the Mexican Strat very close to the US. I say this having owned a US special edition Strat and now owning a player standard. There’s very little difference, if anything the player is quieter on gain. That humbucker is superb sounding. Masterful playing Jon. Wonderful video 😃👍👍👍🎸

I have this model in blue. Oddly, i get 50/60 cycle hum in position TWO (bridge/middle) but very little hum or buzz in the other positions. I still have a preference for Mexican Strats, mine does not disappoint and sounds pretty much like the one Jon is playing here.

It's a nice guitar, but If I could suggest Fender one thing, it would be bringing back the Nitro or something similar to Nitro finish to Mexico. A paint that is like EVH Frankestein Relic. instead of Polyurethene at least for some models. They did Nitro Fender Vintage II for American models, but not Mexican's... Which could be nice as well. I will E-mail them, even though I won't buy one anytime soon : D. Haha, Nice playing! I loved the runnups in the solo! Dennis shared a new video today. : ). Cheers!

It’s not a player plus 🤔 no locking tuners , no player plus neck plate , and presume the fretboard edges are not rolled - can you clarify ? Thanks
This was the information given to me by the store and yes the frets are rolled
Unless the store made a mistake and it’s just a player series strat.
The Player Plus has a 12" radius as well as the noiseless pickups. If this is 9.5" with Alnico then it's a Player. Inspiring playing by the way!

Honestly, the recent player series has really been disappointing for me. Absolutely terrible build quality and QC. Fender truly needs to up their quality dept. this Strat looks amazing tho. Not sure I like the sound tho. Not quite as stratty as I like.
