  • Do you want to discover an amazing place that most safari-goers miss on their trips to Kenya?
Welcome to the Jambo Mutara Camp located in the Mutara Conservancy. Remote and luxurious, this camp is one of my favorites in the country. It's the ONLY camp inside Mutara and perched high up a hill, which provides sweeping views of the 20,000 acre conservancy.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy - another renowned conservancy in the country, is only ten minutes away from the lodge, making it an easy link to explore both protected zones. Wildlife travels between these two places, meaning you could see the same lion appear in Mutara and later again in Ol Pejeta.
This lodge absolutely delivered. It's a second generation owned and operated lodge that employs mostly local people, meaning that staying in this lodge supports the local economy (this certainly isn't the case for many safari lodges in Kenya). A portion of the accommodation proceeds goes towards the wildlife protection management and conservation efforts in the area.
Both Mutara and Ol Pejeta invite thousands of local school children each year, providing free educational experiences for neighboring communities to learn about their local fauna. This is just another reason why I love supporting this conservancy and the camps that operate inside it.
