Hi, what a wonderful video and clear explanations. My question is regarding the node exporter, tried adding it the way you did with the localhost:9100 but it did not reflect on the targets in the Prometheus UI as though the service discovery didnt see it but when i enter it straight in the browser, it is accessible. Please how can this be fixed? Thanks

    Hi that's a great video.
Can you help me to find a solution to absent metrics.. It seems that we keep receiving false alerts on absent metrics. Is there a way where we can stop this false alerts.
    1) Is there any other alternative function instead of absent function which does the same work.
    2) silencing an alert stops only the absent metric alert or stops entire genuine occurring alert as well..
    3) what happens if we reboot the alert manager will the false/in-active alert dissaper?
    We use prometheus version 2.10.1

Lets say, I need to set up an alert for a list of servers not responding
    eg
    static_configs:
    targets:[server1:9000, server2:9001]
Does the alerts happen only if both of these servers go down?
Is there a way for the alert to ring only if a single server goes down?

Nice explination. But it gave me an eyesore to see the way you are using Linux. For example, you should consider sudo as a sacred command and not use it literally every time.
