Would you recommend a camcorder for doing some video in a top down table top review situation over a standard camera?
@@MarkusPix do you do the firmware hack on the nx500? I have one and the hack removes the shooting time limit and the bitrate is much higher also. Just wondering.

Loved this video. One of the most informative comparisons I've ever watched. It looked like the auto white balance on the V800 shifted once you moved into your living room. It wasn't so blue anymore and the colors were much more satisfactory.
I'm new to photography/videography and I have been exploring many different CZcamsrs to learn more. You are by far the most realistic, straight-to-the-point, common sense, no BS channel I have found so far. Thanks for being genuine and sharing your knowledge. You deserve more subscribers
Thanks for this video. After years of making videos with DSLRs, I'm looking into camcorders for convenience and speed. Especially as a new father, I just don't have the time to setup my camera to capture family moments. Great to see you have so much fun talking about each camera. Love the "playing army" analogy. About sums it up. I was using mirrorless for recording 30+ minute vids (w/2 cams) and just got so tired of having to treat the shoot like a cinema set up when all I needed was a sharp, in focus shot that lasted for 35-40 minutes without needing to worry about it. I watched one of your vids, reminding me that old school camcorders DO IT GREAT! So I got an AX33 and forgot about it! Now I have a single file and my work flow is so much easier.
BTW - loved your recent comment about YT requirements and if you can just get the lighting right, you've got the battle won, even with a less expensive camera. Everyone needs to listen to that gem of advice

Thank you Markus. The information in this on vid was so good. The ability for me to go through and make a good choice within my budget , seeing the actual video shots and focusing speeds was great. Really valuable. Not many people have the ability to do what you did with the variety, let alone be so generous with the information. Thank you again. Definitely a smaller Sony seems to be the best choice for me. I was gonna do Panasonic but the washed out colors broke the deal. Most of my filming is done outdoors at pools for swimming. Catching a shot then painting it.

Love the comparisons, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted the Fix & Foxi comics. Having grown up in Germany, these were part of my childhood!
The Samsung NX500 is already my favorite and I found one on the Dutch marketplace (sort of an Ebay). Thanks for providing so much information on the compact cameras with replaceable lences. Super!

Totally agree with you, about small and light, just want it to work, don't want to fuss with white balance or LUTs etc. I agree that people are afraid to admit what you so often do in your videos - state the truth about what they really want when it comes to photography. Keep doing what you do.........it's a breath of fresh air.

i love your enthusiasm for camcorders! you are right everyone gets caught up in the process of setting up a dslr to film (gather batteries, attach mic, rig it out etc), when there are far more simple solutions that will save so much time. Getting great results out of a low or mid-tier camera is the best feeling!

I've had my AX33 for 4years and it has never let me down! I also use an A5100 and Canon M6 because of the tilt-up screen. Keep up the REAL comparisons without all the fluff.

WOW, I am so glad that I found your channel! The detailed information that you put into each camera and camcorder really help me a lot to decide for my purchasing. I have checked few channels on CZcams with the same topic and I stuck on your channel mainly because your videos are all covered with my interest such as cameras, camcorders, and lightings. Thanks for sharing. I almost watch all of your videos. It took me hours. The only wish that I have is that, I wish you mention on your video which camera and camcorder that can be mounted on a tripod.
You know, after watching all those super in-depth camera reviews where everything is nit-picked to the point of analysis paralysis, it is super refreshing to watch Markus' take on things. It's just so relatable compared to all the other stuff going on.

You made me feel better about my Sony AX53 Markus. I got it a few years ago and then regretted it later because it's a lot of gear and I thought it was too big and obsolete. But it's still a good unit. I just picked up a Sony RX100 VII after watching your videos on those. Thanks.

I keep saying it, this channel is the best i have seen. You act so natural and also very honest, you have done pretty awesome job with cameras and camcorders that others don't like.

I came back to photography due to my channel and after more than 30 years away from it found a lot of changes, had to purchase an old Canon 700D to learn on again then got myself the Canon M50 and the 22mm f2 pancake lens and loving it. Thanks for making the effort to point out the differences on the image quality. I did miss your evaluation of the sound recording. When you take one of those little camera's with you, the sound tends to be flawed sometimes and sometimes surpisingly good. Sound is VERY important with video....

Thank you for you evaluation. Last summer in Nevada with 100+degree days every day, I became frustrated with the heat generated auto shutoff on my G7X and the SONY action cam. Could not even make it half way through Red Rock Canyon before both cameras shut off. I will be looking at a 4K SONY Handycam as a backup. Great video.
Thanks. This video was refreshing. You helped explain the reason why camcorders are still viable in shooting and that price and bells and whistles aren't always the thing to go for. You quickly take the viewer through a hands on usage of the cameras without all the jargonish gobbilty gook that so many people try to impress with. All we really need to see is examples of the products and their results and you give that without too much yawning through techy talk. Thanks again.

You got it! I worked years with Camcorders. But now days apparently all the CZcams guys switched to DLRS. So I tried, too. Yes, the quality is fine ... but! Wanna get nice audio on your DSLR= so you have to use an external mike. Wanna get Zoom? Ok, switch the lens. To sum it up: you are configuring your DSLR all the time to technical issues your Camcorder has already on board. In my eyes just use DSLRs only for the little few shots where you wanna have some DOF. By the way: Has anybody noticed some Codec issues with the A6400? Do the test: A dark room, switch the light on and watch compression particles in the picture. Never was an issue on a Camcorder!

There was a German barber in my town (near Sydney) who also sold newspapers, "Fix und Foxi", "Das Beste aus Readers Digest", "Bunte Illustrierte" usw. Great when I was studying German at school.

Such a great video Markus. I have a Sony AX53 camcorder and I love it. The stabilization is awesome and so is the massive zoom. I can get all kinds of shots with it and I can get great bokeh if I just zoom in on the subject.
