I recently shared a bonus video of some footage from a stormy day in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire. In this 'Part 2' video, the wind direction has changed and this brings with it the nice effect of the sea coming right over the breakwater. Normally you can walk right along the top of the breakwater, here it's easy to see why they close it off when the elements combine to produce this (beautiful to watch) event.

Wow, absolutely stunning. I had just finished watching Moving Art on Netflix, when your notification came on. This is equally if not better than anything I had just watched on Moving Art. I am listening to the howling wind outside, with fire roaring in the log burner, on the edge of Dartmoor wondering what life is like outside the moors, during another lockdown. Thank you for making a lonely person not so lonely for a few minutes.

I really felt this video too Sandra. I'm not sure what hit me but something did. I'm semi rural in the West Midlands sticking by all the lockdown rules and slowly going nuts I think. Close to tears watching this and wondering when I'm going to be able to go anywhere like this again. Steve's doing us all such a great service. Yeah, definitely over-sentimental this morning!

@@Charlienmeg It is very difficult when you live with isolation. I use to enjoy coming off the moors and driving to meet my friend for coffee and to be part of society once more. However, I have found myself spending a lot of time staring out of the windows!! I also put my tins of food into alphabetical order just to help stop the boredom. But, then there is only so much you can do inside the house. I have my chickens to care for, and I also find myself watching these for most of the day scratching around, whilst longing for human company. Stay strong, there are many, many of us out there trying to cope with isolation, and trying to keep from going nuts.

I think i have lockdown sensitivity or something but that made me a tad maudlin and I was close to a tear in the eye watching the waves leaping over the harbour wall. It may be because it's 6.15am on Friday morning and I haven't had a coffee yet. It could be because I haven't been anywhere at all in the last year. I don't know. Wet and windswept. You, Steve, grew up in Stonehaven? I my self have a connection with Stonehaven - my great grandfather on my grandmother’s side was struck and killed by a train on the rail line a mile or so south of Stonehaven. He may have been guarding the rail line for the passage of a train that bore the Tzar of Russia. This happened in the 1890’s. Hearing the story as a child, it got moved to the Firth of Forth rail bridge. You still refer to the area as the Kingdom of Fife. My second cousin who lived in Arbroath did too.

Oh so long ago but still tragic to hear John! Yes, I went to high school at Mackie Academy and lived in Stonehaven for 6 years. Not been there for years, think the last time was before they blocked off the right turn on the dual carriageway to Spurryhillock. What could possibly go wrong turning right over a road with a 70 mph speed limit especially with farm traffic....
