Thiruppugazh is well known and understood among Tamil Hindus as it is our ancestral tradition and was never the tradition of non-Hindus, though the latter now want to invade it for missionary purposes.
At thiruppugazh-nectar.blogspot.com/2016/10/391.neelangol.html and www.kaumaram.com/thiru/nnt1296_u.html you can find the complete lyrics of this video's Thiruppugazh song (the dance video only provides excerpts of the song and dance) along with meaning, Roman transliteration and English translation made available by traditional Tamil Hindu Murugan Bhaktas who have followed the traditions pertaining to Murugan handed down in unbroken succession since ancient times.
Notable is a key verse (though not included in the excerpted video):
      "nAl andha vEdhaththin poruLOnE"
In literal translation, this line of the Thiruppugazh song which is used in the dance says that God Murugan is the substance of the 4 Vedas "nAl vEdha..." (nAl is 4 and vEdha is one of the names of the Vedas in Tamil)
Contrary to Aadhimoolan projecting this or any of the Thiruppugazh songs as mere "poetry", i.e. devoid of religion, the Thiruppugazh song collection is entirely in devout praise and worship of the Vedic AKA Hindu God Murugan. (Murugan is one of his countless Tamizh names.) The songs are about this Vedic God and the established means of his worship which is notably a form of yoga that is common to all Vedic bhakti paths. It is a practice well-known in traditional Hindu lineages dedicated to Murugan, which is why composer Sri Arunagirinathar covered these aspects too in his songs and why the Hindus of the Kaumaram and Shaiva branches of the Vedic religion understand the details of his songs very well even if translating to English or non-Indian languages is always hard.

This is Bharatnatyam, a classical dance that originated in Hindu temples in Tamilnadu, India. It is the oldest classical dance in the world. Most of the steps and emotions are portrayals of devotion to God. Some dances are depictions of religious stories.
As the title indicates, this dance is a devotional piece dedicated to Sri Arunagirinathar, a famous saint in history, and the dance itself is a tribute to Lord Muruga. Also, this dance was performed in a Hindu temple. In fact, there was a time when dancers were prohibited from dancing outside Hindu temples.
Everything you see here, from the detailed choreography to the lyrics (Carnatic music), and even the musical instruments used have been meticulously chosen to convey the spiritual meaning and tribute to Lord Muruga. Every posture and facial expression in Baratnatyam has to be maintained at a certain angle; these have been derived from geometry. The dancers have most likely been training since they were 5 or 6 years of age to attain this level of perfection. Plus, the fact that they are dancing in 90F to 100F, humid weather with no air conditioning is a feat by itself. Also, You have to understand Tamil to truly appreciate the lyrics.
India's pop dances such as belly dance or "bollywood" dance are nowhere as intricate or difficult as the classical dances (Baratnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Manipuri, etc)

Correcting the other response to you to counter the concerted desacralising efforts of known iconoclasts. The song used in the video is not at all mere poetry, it is a profoundly religious Hindu song by a devout Hindu sage, Sri Arunagirinathar, invoking the Vedic/Hindu God Murugan, whom Tamizh Hindus (and nearby states' Hindus) are devoted to.
Sri Arunagirinathar's collection of songs in praise of Murugan, called Thiruppugazh, cover the full range of the sacred mode of worship of Murugan, including regularly touching on an ancient Vedic form of yoga for devotees' union with the Hindu Gods, in this case Murugan.
The meaning of the full song used in this video can be read at thiruppugazh-nectar.blogspot.com/2016/10/391.neelangol.html and www.kaumaram.com/thiru/nnt1296_u.html
which is by traditional Murugan bhaktas of unbroken lineage, and not by iconoclasts who would reduce this to poetry and obscure the real meaning and purpose.
In the 2nd to last verse Sri Arunagirinathar sings that Murugan is the essence of the Vedas and the final line is a very Hindu/Vedic view that is likewise associated with His yoga path, and is a common theme in Sri Arunagirinathar's Thiruppugazh collection as well as in other (Tamizh) Hindu scriptures on Murugan. This is worth drawing attention to repeatedly, because it establishes, contrary to the iconoclasts' ongoing efforts, that the God Murugan, His temples and worship, His songs and their composers like Sri Arunagirinathar are all Hindu religion and not secular poetry or a secular mystic/mysticism independent of Vedic religion (Hinduism).
I'm happy to hear of anyone who feels since and respectful appreciation for Tamizh (as also for our sacred dance Bharatanatyam): Tamizh is my Sacred Mother tongue that has been the medium of much great profound knowledge such as contained in the Thiruppugazh collection. It is considered a Divine language by Tamizh Hindus: UmaShiva and son Murugan, and their devoted Vedic and Tamizh Shaiva Sage grammarian, are the ancient source of Tamizh as per Tamizh tradition. It is all this that is being painfully and deliberately eroded by the iconoclasts.
This response is so that innocent onlookers like yourself are aware of what's actually going on. Every Hindu religious form, from our Hindu songs and music styles, our Hindu dances and even our Gods/temples, are since the last decades increasingly being deliberately contested, even in our own spaces, in an attempt to wrest them from us by persons who never contributed to these things in any way and have only hated Hinduism, and who want to pillage what they will from our religious forms for their own aggrandizement.

I like their sari. Why? because that is my favorite color that they 're wear it and their steps while dancing I've been done way back years ago. I joined them while they dancing for the sake that you are there in their country. I realized that their dancing is the same of YOGA Dancing because of stretching your whole body.
