    Been wanting to see a good install of this exhaust because I’ve already ordered mine and I’m waiting on it to be delivered.
    This is the best install video I’ve seen 🙏🏻

    I have a 2018 1SS 1LE and got the MBRP axle back delete in black. Love it! But, here's a little hint. When you have it installed, have your exhaust man cut in front of the axle and fabricate a length of pipe to meet your new exhaust. It's about 20" of pipe (that's what she said), but GM put what they call a necessary crimp in the pipe that reduces the flow by approximately 35%. I did some digging and was told that this was because Chevy couldn't allow the lowly Camaro to make more power than the Corvette. Just a hint. It costs an additional $50, but makes a world of difference.
    Great car! Great vid! Thanks for sharing!!!!

    • @CarolinaAutos
      @CarolinaAutos  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks man. I'm actually interested in looking into this. If I understand flow dynamics correctly, even with a crimp in the exhaust as long as the overall inside circumference of the pipe is the same (which in this case, it is); nothing should be affected. I thought they crimped it so it wasn't too close to the diff/fluid but I'll do some more research

    • @garygeer4685
      @garygeer4685 Před 3 lety +1

      @@CarolinaAutos Actually it's not. It's not a flattening of the pipe, it's pushing the pipe back into itself, which in fact does reduce flow. ...Just so you know.
      Concerning the pipe being to close to the diff fluid. No. The same setup can be found on the previous Z28. And according to my GM dealership, while the crimp does offer cosmetic clearance, it in no way threatens or comes into contact with the diff or threatens said fluid. ;-)
      FYI:
      No full aftermarket cat back system comes with the crimp.

      @@garygeer4685 Chevy says the crushed pipe doesnt affect flow or power... the Corvette makes 5 more horsepower than the Camaro because the LT1 in the Corvette is dry sump and the Camaro is wet sump.. thats it..

      As for your claim that chevy said it didn't effect the output, I was told by a GM service manager that it in fact did affect power.

      This has been tested by several outlets and there is no power gain by swapping out that flattened pipe. No idea where you got 35% from...?

    What up Eric, we bought our Veloster Ns same time and I still have mine. Very possibly trading for LT1 in the next couple of days, decided I was ready to go back to RWD and after considering Turbo 6's like the M2 and supra I came to my senses and I decided I needed to pick up an NA American V8 while they still exist. I initially thought about the ZL1 that was a few years old with low mileage and try to get it done around $65k. Then I looked around at the NA Camero because in all honesty I don't drive fast enough to actually need that much power every day. Hell man I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've buried the accelerator pedal on the Veloster if that tells you anything. Now I do drive it quickly, but I mainly use it to commute to work and the Camaro will be doing the same haul. Now I have several back roads I drive and I prefer handling to straight up speed, so the Camaro seemed like a good way to go to get into a great handling rear wheel drive with plenty of power and worth dumping the Veloster over. I'll tell you what though, I have been very satisfied with the VN, I have been looking at cars ever since I picked up the VN, and I haven't seen anything that I would replace it with when I factored in price and fun. I actually considered keeping the VN along with the Camaro, but I'm not loaded unfortunately and I'm in my 50s, so I'm trying to save as much as possible for retirement these days and I like to have money in my pocket and not be a slave to my bills. Plus I only drive one car at a time and I think the Camaro will be a better long term car to keep for collectors value too. I'm also quite pissed off that all this green energy bullshit is going to make everyone drop their V8's. Man I'm all about progress and I love some forced induction, but I also love the beauty of the NA V8'S and the 6.2L. thanks for the video brother, getting excited 😆
