"Why running down hills can drastically improve your parkrun time" is the headline we all wanted!
Ha, I didn't think of that. A great point. Future video - how fast would a downhill parkrun be?
Crackin' speed Harry.
There are some great routes nearby....Wentwood. Well worth a visit for the views of the Wye Valley.
Keep it going.
Thanks very much!
Pretty sure this is a spot near me, a great one for running. Great videos too man 👌🏻
Really appreciate it Ollie
Excellent video. You're such a good runner, it helps to see how hard you need to work in training. Inspiring.
Thanks for watching
well done great effort
Many thanks David.
Hi Harry. Enjoyed this so much last night I went out and copied it this morning. :) 1:45, 1:49, 1:47, 1:45, 1:44, 1:40 - must have been sandbagging!
Nice one, and well done. Love that you went and did it!
Harry
youre a beast, your channel must have more views!!!!
Very kind, thank you
Meanwhile me in the Netherlands where the biggest hill is a speedbumb: ....
Haha, it is amazing in the Netherlands, I ran there again just last year
Dear Harry, I live in a hilly area. There's always some incline or steep road to run up. I don't even bother trying to run fast up them, it's tiring. I just want to run up them non-stop.
Races and parkrun (when they return) on nice flats are for speed.
Thanks for sharing Noll S as always!
What a glorious setting on a beautiful day.
Different ballgame in winter I'd bet.... especially doing these sessions on them 😎
I imagine you’re correct. Thank you for watching this video. I hope at some point to make another training style video.
You can do Kenyan Hills run as fast downhill as you do up hill
You can
Hi Harry, great videos. Have personally only ever done 2 park runs, only recently started, and now we're back in lockdown here in NZ. 😐
I always think when I see the times you do in park runs, how the heck do you run those times? I can't even run/jog the whole 5 k but that's my goal. So far PB 43 something minutes 🤣🤣🤣
50 years old though. Would be interesting to see how to build up to actually sustaining a run/jog for a beginner.
Fantastic Kathryn - love to know someone is watching in NZ.
Keep going with your goals!
All the best,
Harry

@@davidking5352 Great to hear David!
Stick with it.. I started park runs .. 45 minutes feeling your dying on your feet.. couple of years later .. 26 min personal best and finished 4 half marathons.. remember it's your own race no one else's.. it's about to the doing it.. ( 52 yrs)
Hi Harry and the Jog On community, what pace would you aim to run these kind of hill runs? Your goal 5km pace? Or something quicker? Thank you!
Faster than 5K pace Lisa, a short but hard effort
@@thisisjogon fab! Thanks Harry.
Wait, is that a Jog On watch band?
That would be cool. An orange strap to make it more JOG ON
Is that cesar's camp?
Hi Richard, it is indeed.
Was that cesars cramp.
Do you walk back in between sets?
Depends on the session, often will break into a light jog
