Yes rgm 1987 I recall having a VW Golf Driver Mk2 a few years ago & the wax stat went in the carburettor resulting in poor cold starting & running in general. It was replaced in time. The automatic choke worked fine right up to when I sold the car.
I still recall my father’s yellow golf 1980. It was a beauty and economic car. Yet very good machine 😔 I learned to drive with this.
