Ideas for more ways to get mega energy: catch a Pokémon that can mega (any evolution), research, research boxes, buying them with poke coins, placing a Pokémon that can mega (any evolution) in a gym (like how you would get pokecoins), walking with them, transferring them, increase friendship level with them, add more elemental lures and every time you spin them you have a chance to get energy

Honestly I only have one complaint about mega energy, it is very challenging for people that don’t have the best Pokémon, like me,or don’t have many friends that play the game or just in the general area (these mega raids are five star I can’t do that 😞). Overall, I think it’s just too hard to get mega energy for your desired Pokémon.

I think we should be able to mega evolve through different challenges with the specific Pokémon . I actually love that there is a time limit. Some task by which we should be able to mega evolve are :
1. Using certain amount of candy (25)
2. Getting some quest done with the Pokémon
3. Making one type of mega energy which can be used on every single Pokémon
4. Mega energy from every type of raid
5. Making mega evolution possible after certain buddy level(2)
6. Overall make it easier to obtain
I’m okay with the 4-hour limit. But having to win extremely hard multiple raids, that require teammates, in order to earn energy points so as to mega evolve at least one Pokémon? I hate this implementation.

I started playing this game on saturday well came back to the game with a new account and everything and i got a shiny charizard already since it was community day.
i would've loved it if the buddy system was implemented with the mega system
like once the buddy becomes ultra buddy he could bring the mega stone and you can only use that stone with the one pokemon which brought the stone to you
the mega enery feature just feels paid to win and its not cool that niantic is doing this to the most anticipated feature to come to the game
That would be cool but having 50 storage taken up by mega stones alone would be kind of a pain.
That’s actually a really cool idea. Just like they bring you souvenirs.
And they could just make it not occupy item space like stickers or whatever
I had a pretty alright idea that Niantic should use. So hear me out, considering that mega pokemon are supposed to be all about building a bond between a pokemon and it's trainer I think it should be more intertwined with the buddy system. So for every action that you perform with you're buddy you get 1 heart and maybe if you are performing that buddy action with a pokemon that is part of a mega evolution family then you should get 5 mega energy of that specific family for every heart earned(action performed). In doing so this would allow people to earn 50 candies per buddy per day and you can still swap 20 times! With this feature in game it would allow people to earn 50-55 mega energy per buddy if you perform all tasks including the bonus. I feel that this much is a fair amount because getting all 10 hearts with you're buddy in one day does require quite a bit of dedication and I feel that the mega energy would be a huge incentive for people to want to utilize the buddy system more. I feel that this implementation would really encourage players to utilize the buddy system on a daily basis and want to take the most advantage of it (especially if you are a free to play player who doesn't want to spend money). In doing this it would make the whole mega evolution system so much more player/lore friendly. Just one other thing I wanted to add to take the system a step further is maybe depending on the level of friendship you have with you're buddy you will get different levels of reduction in mega evolution costs kind of like how stardust cost reductions are implented in trading with higher level friends. Thank you to those of you that read all of this and lmk what you think!
@@MrNelly316 In the files the cost was supposed to go down if you had a higher buddy level i believe, but i think they will add a passive way of getting mega energy, since beedrill can't earn anymore energy than you get from the quest there must be a way to get beedrill energy in the future, and I believe due to ehat people have been saying Niantic will need to add a way to get mega energy outside of raids.
I don’t really like the way you can only get mega energy from winning mega raids because most times when I’m battling in a raid I’m with just me or someone else so I basically cannot win them so I can basically not get any other mega Pokemon apart from beedrill 😢

I love how most of the replies have nothing to do with the comment
Things i like about mega pokemon:
- they add a new fuction to the game
- they are a step in gen 6 which I'm happy about.
My dislikes about megas:
-its not suppose to have an time limit.
-its not a button instead its mega energy what I completely hate imo.
-the fact that megas are in raids is stupid theres a whole pandemic going on and ontop of that people don't have the money to buy remote raidpasses because well we aren't getting pokecoins in the Netherlands for example.
Things I want fixed for megas:
-make it so after every battle the pokemon changes back. There is no need for it to be buddy so you can be like "look at my shiny mega charizard X bro it took me so many raids"
- make it so buddy pokemon at great level or higher can mega evolve so its like everyone can evolve it.
-remove mega energy + raids it's not necessarily needed.
- make it so when a charge move is ready u can click a tiny mega symbol and then the charge menu to mega evolve and use the charge move and for the rest of the battle it stays mega evolved.
Yes this is like main series. In my opinion this should have been implemented because i like the main series better because it gives the use of megas alot easier and stuff and u guys can completley disagree but it's my oppinion and I would love to see it this way.

I hope they ad mega stones to replace mega energy or at least give a massive reduction and make it so if it’s ur buddy u get a slight boost as mega evolution has to do with the trainers bond with the Pokémon. “Everyone has Charizard Venusaur and blastoise”. I only have a charizard since I started in 2020 lockdown I haven’t been able to do much But I got. Shiny and regular charizard. I also got 6 legends one being a shiny Groudon
You can earn Mega Energy by defeating a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in a Raid Battle or completing specific research tasks. You can also occasionally earn Mega Energy by walking with your Buddy Pokémon if you have previously Mega Evolved a Pokémon in your Buddy Pokémon's Evolutionary line.

I wish it was easier to earn Mega Energy and there should be more pokemon that would be able to Mega Evolve ✌🏼
Problem: Mega evolution is cool but they being temporary is the sad side. I see most of the people are not happy because the mega evolution is temporary (4 hours), and mega energy can only be earned doing raids.
Solution (In my Opinion): If game takes any of the solution points , it can make a difference
1) Decrease the cost of remote raids, or even provide some free remote raid pass every week , or something like that,
2) Decrease the mega energy required for mega evolution,
3) Enable ways to earn mega energy other than raids,( Just an idea : If a buddy Pokémon could mine its mega energy with some rate per day , it would be great)
I believe there should be more (free) ways to accumulate mega energy.
-BEST BUDDY interactions and battles make so much sense and niantic missed this big time.
-Mega Energy daily quests or pokestop quests
-Make mega energy universal, not Pokémon specific or create a “Rare mega energy”
-Decrease the cost even further after initial mega evolve or make it free with perhaps a cooldown..
-Increase duration for mega, or make permanent while equipped as your best buddy.
Idk, it’s just so easy to think of so many ways to improve how the mega system functions in the game.. just some quick constructive criticism from my end.

I would love if you collected a certain amount of mega energy that when u evolve them they’d stay like that instead of there being a timer, I love how some of the designs look so it makes me sad when it disappears :(
But i do LOVE the fact that you can collect up to 999 of the mega stones and make your Pokémon stronger. It can prove to be useful in raids if you need that extra combat power really quick or gym battles as well.

I think there should be ways to earn mega energy other than the raids. Maybe you walk to get some. Also I think that you should have mega pokemon forever, and have an unlimited number of mega pokemon too. Maybe even a way to turn it back into its non mega variant if that happens.

1:30 the change that I would make to mega Pokémon is if you mega evolve it 5 times then you keep if forever
For example
First evolution: 200 energy
2: 100
3: 75
4: 50
5: you keep it forever but for 100

I hope Niantic will soon put some other ways to obtain mega energies like buddy system, from several researches and all the other ways that is possible
The way I would’ve made Mega Evolution better is by gaining Mega Energy through our buddy Pokemon as the point too even Mega Evolve your Pokemon within the lore of Pokemon is too have a deep bond with your Pokemon so too get that aspect I can see gaining Mega Energy from our buddy similar too how we get our buddy too best buddies, this would also allow us too give a reason too swap back too Pokemon we already have best buddies more often as I say too unlock the capability too gain Mega Energy is by first making your Pokemon reach best buddies and once that has been reached a new separate page or the current page would turn into Mega Energy gaining page will be available. I personally would still keep Mega Raids but I would’ve added the buddy feature one I just explained at the same time so it gives something too the free too play players a chance to do more affectively. I would’ve seen Mega Raids the more plentiful way too gain energy but too access more often yes you need too pay for passes while the buddy one as the more harder and grinding way too get energy but it’s accessible too all players without spending

I think that you should be able to earn mega stones as a rare drop from raids to give a pokemon a mega evolution, then every time you use it you are going to get a 24 hour cooldown before you could mega evolve it again. (It would be free to evolve when you have used a mega stone on your pokemon)

2: research tasks and buddy challenges
field research should have tasks for rare energy, they should give between 5,10 or 15 depending on the difficulty
pokemon that can mega evolve should have buddy challenges every day to get there specific mega energy it should give 5-10
3: go battle league
go battle league should give rare energy as a reward depending on what tier you are (1-2 5 rare energy 3-4 10 rare energy 5-6 15 rare energy 7-8 20 rare energy 9-10 25 rare energy)
4:friendship level energy reduction
pokemon that are ultra buddy should have a decrease of 5 energy to mega evolve, best buddy should have 10
5:waking with your buddy
if your buddy pokemon can mega evolve should earn 1 mega energy per km you walk with your buddy(does not depend on what pokemon is your buddy)
6: gifts
gifts should give a chance to obtain 1-5 rare energy
7:lucky pokemon
like buddy pokemon lucky pokemon should have a 5 energy decrease if that pokemon can mega evolve(does stack with buddy decrease)
8:mega increase item
a rare item(like elite fast/charged tms) that could increase the mega timer by 2 hour(as of right now we don't need this but its just an idea)
I do still believe that raids will still be the superior method of obtaining mega energy however with all these other method it will make it easier for rural players to get mega energy and its will make easier all around

I spent 3 months on Pokémon Go and I am level 25! I watched this because I wanted to see what Mega Beedrill looked like
This is the "show off" stage of mega. Pay to get it first. Like regigigas with tickets. It is fine, doesn't affect the game, doesn't get you advantage because can't be used in PvP. So it is ok. If you don't wanna pay for raids it is ok just wait till mega is useful.
@Mystic7: Mega evolutions SHOULD last for a fixed number of battles, instead of 4 hours. As we know Niantic, the servers will be down once I evolve my precious Mega :/

I wish they make best buddys give the trainet daily mega energy lets say like 5 or 10 because getting a pokemon to best buddy is quite a pain and it will also make allot of sense for them to do that because mega evolutions is supposed to be the bond between the trainer and the pokemon.

A different way I would have mega evolution is that instead of you having to battle raid bosses to get mega energy you just have to get the Pokémon that can mega evolve
