This is an excellent demo thanks for posting it - pretty much this demo alone sold me on the D41 above the other models - the D45 is stunning but not worth the extra cost compared to the D41 IMO

Very good comparison. They all are wonderful guitars. Most people think the only difference between the 41 and 45 is the extra "bling", but after hearing this, the 45 sounded out of this world. You can definitely tell the difference with the 42 and it's forward bracing. It sounded amazing as well.
The D-41 and D-45 sound more airy, open whereas the D-42 more tight and slightly more bassier and louder. I like the D-41 and D-45 more but of course, the latter is priced well beyond my range.
All these wines are tasty. The reachest one is obviously D-45, but it needs professional guitarist who can bring out all nuanses and colors that D-45 can deliver.
As for me this are just similar to D35 or D28, the only thing is that it has a lot of blings in it. Like a person that’s wearing attractive jewelries. Of course not all guitars sounds identical but it’s a matter of which one you prefers. My HD28 has got its own characteristic too.

Randy, it would have since the bracing are forward shifted leaving more of the wood to vibrate at the bottom end.

Very nice comparison. I have had 2 different 45s that I let go...stupid. I am shopping for a 42 now. This helped.

d-41 sound the best ! d-45 is too bright d-42 a kind of soft but d-41 in the middle and has very balanced sound
