This is definitely Scandinavia's fault. Annexing so much stuff at once? Of course nobody would just go along with that, and any leverage he imagined he had wasn't nearly enough to force the situation to go the way he wanted- the longer it got drawn out to be, the more likely he was to get targeted by opportunists. It doesn't take hindsight to know this was bound to happen.
The fact he ragequit is equally ridiculous. Scandinavia's grasp on hegemony may be tenuous, but it's equally difficult to remove them from the great powers list. Even when they lose wars, their inner territories remain largely unmolested...
Victoria 2 - probaly the closest a PC game gets to the mentality "I-destroy-friendships" of boardgames.

Thats the reason why we treat what was said as "contracts" when I play CK2/EU4/VIC2 with my friends. So easy to be like "ah nah fuck that" cuz someone has to go first since you cant do peace-treatys where booth sides gain something from the other.
Stryker did fuck up by not being specific and being vague but when he realized what was happening Scandinavia wanted to go through with it anyway so it became a real war

Why do you not have some rules on transfer wars? If people can just back out after receiving territory and be like "I didn't know you meant ALL of India", then it really has no point being in the game if it is possible take states for no infamy and then call their allies into conflict that should have been a trade.
The transfer casus bellis weren't used. If it turns into a real war they must add real war goals

Most vic 2 communities have a special Mp version of mods, and one of the cbs is a no infamy state transfer.

ngl spud throwing scandi under the bus for hanover is stupid and also PLC and russia joining against scandi for low pop states make absolutely no sense
ik this is 7 months late, but with DM dead, spud has scandi as his colonial rival, and plc and russia both accept those pops, PLC is far more understandeable as estonia and latvia give him around 1M pops in DoD IIRC (Both accepted), karelia meanwhile is extremely defensive terrain, like, muscovy only has to defend 3 forests there
