    The Mazda Miata is one of the most fun cars you can buy for the money, regardless of what price that Miata is at. So if you are looking to spend $5k on a fun to drive sports car...the NB Miata is an AMAZING choice. I love these things, nimble and small, a great car to throw around corners, the only complaint I have is that I barely fit in the car. Check out this review of a NB Mazda Miata with some moderate mods!

    Eddie, there's a very easy way to remember the Miata generation codes. 4 Generations. From oldest to newest: NA (89-97), NB (98-05), NC(05-14), ND (15-now). So basically A-B-C-D, and add N to the front!

    I had an NA miata as my very first manual car and daily drove it for 6 months. I’m 6’5” 220lbs. The way I fit in mine was the night I got it home me any my friends took out the drivers seat and did a “foam-ectomy” where we literally cut out some, not all, but some of the foam from the bottom and back of the seat and it let me sit a few inches lower and back and made it perfect to drive, pair that with an after market steering wheel with some slight dish too it and it was a breeze to drive

    The best Miata of all time was the 04/05 Mazdaspeed. I daily drive an 04 speed. It is modified with the Flyin Miata intake and exhaust and they say it has about 200 rwhp. Mazda realized that the NA Miata got the basic formula right back in the 1990s, so the NB wasn't a huge departure. You like used Miatas; give an NC a try sometimes. I think you'll like it! I've got one, the latest of the four Miatas I've daily-driven since 2000 (a '93 NA, a '99 NB, an '04 NB and now the '09 NC). It has an inch or so more headroom (at least if you adjust the seat to its lowest position) and it has a nice HP boost that more than makes up for the 100 pound weight increase over the NB.
    Because a second car is always a good idea, I'm thinking about buying a second car which isn't a Miata, so I'll have a spare car with an actual back seat, but I don't know; shouldn't I just go ahead and get a fifth Miata?

      @erebus38 Před 5 lety

      Well it would,but then again my battery died and because of this,it won't. However,if I either can recharge or replace the battery it will crank over. Funny thing about this is that the battery was also a fairly new replacement along with the starter which would otherwise still be working just fine if the battery wasn't dead and I supposedly also had a new cam angle sensor as well as another sensor that I don't remember the name of that was also replaced. While I tested the car for anything that might cause a parasitic drain where nothing was found I still have my suspicions that a drain still also may exist,whether it can be detected or not and there's also the possibility that the problem is either electronic or something based on the fuel system. If I had the money,tools and all the know how based experience I'd probably try to do the diagnosis and repairs on my own by fooling around with it,but I lack all that stuff.

    what most people don't realize is the REASON you're too tall is because the miata never intended for you to USE those seats. They were ONLY put in so you could legally (and affordably) leave the dealership with it and put in your favorite RACING seat when you got home. Unlike other sports cars where a racing seat might be TOO low and now you're staring at the top of the dash... guess what??? you're sitting PERFECTLY like the racing seat came stock.
    Now thats* smart thinking by mazda. unfortunately many Americans don't think about this.

    The generations are the letter N then the alphabet. 1989 started with the NA, then the NB which is the one you are driving, NC after that and then the ND is the new one as of the 2018 model year I'm pretty sure.

    The owner of this particular example NB should probably look into fitting his car with an LSD before adding a turbo, as the base cars (the cloth seats are a tell) weren't available from the factory with this feature. But regardless of trim level, all Miatas are great fun, especially on the right type of road.

    • @youngbeasters
      @youngbeasters Před 3 lety

      LSD was definitely an option for a base model.

    • @vossler360

      @@youngbeasters LSD was usually bundled with an option package for most years of NB for base trims, but sure.

    Good first car? I’m 16 years old and don’t know how to drive manual, but I really wanna learn (my dad knows how). Ik this car is pretty low cost and within my budget. The biggest concern is it being RWD, which everyone I’ve talked to said doesn’t matter, but people in my family swear it’s the worst thing ever

    • @chanmanthegreat1429
      @chanmanthegreat1429 Před 4 lety

      haha wtf? RWD is the absolute pinnacle of drving. do any research and youll learn that RWD is the best! and learning a manual is fun and easy. Miata is an amazing first car if you get one in good condition! also, do yourself a favor and get the NB!
