    4.9” is a great size, especially on the lighter builds, I love the spool… I hope people try them and realize how much fun 4.7-4.9” is… and we get some more wide releases in the size range… it’s one of my favourite!
    I really love -4.9” tri-blades for quick trippy freestyle and 5.5-6” bi-blades for flow style… I wish people were more open to trying new stuff, it will drive actual releases and development.
    We are a little stagnant at times, and have so many motors and props that just don’t get released, because of the lack of interest 😢 or see a single generation and just get dropped…
    I feel like when the cool new stuff get released, people just look at the numbers and get confused because it’s not a 2207 or 5” and don’t give it a chance… even though it is awesome… I dunno, sorry for the tangent.
    Happy flying everyone, please experiment more, and we will have so much more cool stuff.

    • @StacemanFPV
      @StacemanFPV  Před rokem +1

      No problem ... The thing with motors and props is this... And it's what you are saying... There are a lot of variations and combinations to try to find that perfect setup for someone. And the thing is, it doesn't matter what someone else says or what something was "designed" for, it can fit a variety of scenarios.
      Look at me for example .. Flying props designed for a completely different setup and different flying style (though I have my sbang moments) and they are working for me exactly like I want.

    • @lemonsquareFPV
      @lemonsquareFPV Před rokem

      @@StacemanFPV absolutely agreed!
      People may find that they much prefer a very different feel to everyone else! That’s why experimentation is key!
      That was the driving force behind a comment I made yesterday on edrones community post on props.
      Props are the easiest to change and make the biggest difference, it’s cheap and easy to experiment with props and everyone should try as much as they can get a hold of… motors on the other hand aren’t AS important, they either control the prop properly or they don’t…
      I like very specific stuff, and I also change my torque curve, in radio, with a data crunching spreadsheet to calculate my exact curve to give me a perfectly linear motor with a 5% hover point… this gives me absolute perfect throttle resolution, repeatability, and transferability between vastly different builds and motor torque curves.
      Not many tune their torque curves (but should) and rely on finding the motor that fits them best, when they could just be tuning the curve on a motor they like the durability or other feature of. 🤷‍♂️ am I weird? I design motors, of course I’m weird 😜
      I generally run 9-12 points on my throttle curve to get it perfect, I go for linear, but a friend of mine likes to go for an artificial fast ramp up and bump… that’s the wonderful thing about throttle curve tuning, make it feel how you want! Can make the quad feel completely different.
      Again with the tangents 😜

      @@lemonsquareFPV yep you're weird LOLOLOL but in a good way :-) 😂😂
      I don't think I've ever heard of anyone tuning for the motor torque curve.. I think Bob Roogi is one of the few who even talk about it and how it affects things.. Puts you in good company I think.

      @@StacemanFPV LoLoLoL! 😂
      Thanks man!
      Yeah, I need the precision for my kinda flying, I can’t afford to waste a third+ of my throttle stick for nothing, thus the 5% hover point at the bottom of the stick travel and perfect throttle = thrust relationship.
      Also some setups don’t make more thrust above 90% (number just for example, actual may be higher OR lower) and just pull silly current, kill battery, and heat up the motors for zero actual work done… so that’s a good place to look to optimize throttle too…
      I over engineer and optimize everything, and sometimes it really, really matters, and sometimes it’s a waste of time 😜

    I gave them a go and immediately fell in love with those hunking bits of plastic!
    People knock them, and im not comparing them to thrse props youve mentioned, i just wanted people to know that the dal 5045c pros are so punchy, the hub is like 6 mm and the seem to give more control at below middle throttle ,i suppose its cause theres no bounce back from the heavier drone.

    • @StacemanFPV
      @StacemanFPV  Před rokem +1

      Well, it depends on what you are doing. For me, underpowered works really well as I like to fly a lot of tight proximity flying. Being underpowered basically gives me a lot of throttle resolution, which helps to prevent ballooning or over-correcting throttle adjustments. If you fly a lot of open spaces, then underpowered is not what you want, but many sbang pilots like these props on high kv motors for their response as they make a lot of quick direction changes, and need the prop to provide throttle very quickly, and don't necessarily need more thrust as they run higher kv which compensates for less thrust of the prop.
