One of my favorite moments between Laura and Sam is when she looks at him and bursts out laughing at his mustache and Sam says “I love it when a woman I respect laughs at me for no reason”
@@bladethorn I like FCG. but i wish Sam would maybe do a more serious character, that i guess could still be funny at times. I feel like Scanlan was Sam's best character. And i really didn't care for Veth at all. But FCG is definitely not a bad character, but to be honest i don't even know what Sams character is gonna be next campaign. That is if they keep doing campaigns, i hope the keep doing them. The day critical role stops doing some kind of big campaign thing is gonna be so sad. The world will definitely be a lot less bright.
@@bladethorn FCG is a great character- maybe even the best character after Marisha lost Laudna's magic and Fearne not offering much anymore after an amazing start. He's certainly the most complex and has offered the most character development out of all of them, by constantly working on himself, but unfortunately Sam has nobody to really riff off of. His closest character is played by Taliesen. I like him, but he's really not good at yes, and-ing. He's too preachy and often does the opposite of yes, and-ing, especially with Sam. Laura is occupied with Laudna and the seriousness of her character. Chetney's anti-metal stance lends himself perfectly for banter but it might be they feel like they already had enough banter between the two in the last two campaigns. So he's kind of left to his own devices and everybody keeps telling him he's doing it wrong, whatever he does. Sam and Laura sitting together in campaign 2 was amazing. Sadly the magic dwindled away a bit after they separated because of covid and Laura forgot about the rapport the two had and fell back to her sarcastic retorts towards Sam when he engaged her.
9:54 is honestly exactly what D&D is about! That's a grown ass man going full kid in a candy store from his fictional character being told by a fictional storekeeper that he is reading the book that one of his previous fictional characters eventually published! And honestly I remember I had the exact same reaction (which adds yet another layer of fiction and imagination), especially since campaign 2 was so much less directly connected to the first one the few references that came were soo impactful! Really glad Mat loosened it up for campaign 3 tho as it's just so insanely gratifying to see the different characters again years down the line!!
The only cast members who Laura's character hasn't romanced in a campaign yet are Sam, Liam and Ashley. Just saying. Also one of my favorite Sam/Laura moments is C2E124 when Laura laughs suddenly at Sam's mustache, and Sam says "I love it when a woman I respect laughs at me for no reason."
@@chad8767 Fair, but I think it feels like they interact less often then laura and sam in some of the earlier episodes of c2, which makes it harder for me to latch on to their friendship/relationship
If you go and watch the Cupcake clip with Laura tricking the witch, or when they vandalized the Platinum Dragon temple, Sam is truly the unsung wing man to Laura's best shenanigans.
I related so hard to Sam at 9:20 . Honestly it's how I want to work as a storyteller. He knew that scene's potential and didn't want anyone to interrupt it's natural flow.
So we all know Laura and Liam have the sibling energy of constantly rippin on eachother and loving. But these two have the, "single braincell shared between the two of them" energy 😂
Laura and Liam are the siblings who are super close in age so they mess around with each other, Sam seems like the baby brother that she just can’t be that mean to 😂
@@Jc-587 that's a good way to put it! Especially during his ads and he does something super crazy/messy and she always calls him 'SAMUEL' instead of 'Sam' 😂
What I really love about Critical Role is that they have a close relationship with every individual member of the cast. What I've experienced in friend groups is that there are always those who hang out together because of their mutual friends/group but who would never hang out together alone. There are always some who are closer to each other than others. But in Critical Role, all members seem to have pretty much the same level of closeness with each other (obviously there are the couples but hopefully you get what I mean).

To be honest Sam and Laura interactions are like 50% of the reason i watch critical role. They have the best dynamic ever.
I think that’s one of the reasons C3 hasn’t grabbed me after 10 episodes. They don’t really interact, FCG is kind of… bland?

Jester and Nott had my favorite platonic relationship of campaign 2. Equal parts hilarious and endearing.
Plus all the times early Campaign 2 when Sam helped cover Laura's pregnant belly when she was keeping it private- very sweet.
