8:15 has to be the single greatest line Alistair has ever said. His delivery is top notch. I love Alistair, even in the most dire of situations, he's still the most charming and humorous.
My inquisitor, Hawke and Warden look exactly alike and I wondered if Alastair wasn’t there he’d be like “Ah inquis- wai- beloved I thought you were heading west!?
I always thought that making Alistair a Warden was the best option for him, but he sound so... tired, so done. After all his heroics, after almost singlehandedly stopping THE damn Blight, he's just... another pawn of some would-be Commander? I get it, Alistair hates to take responsibility for someone else's lives, but still, why? It's been ten long years, and there is nothing left of that funny silly Alistair who blushed when Wynne explained him how babies make. The only time he makes a joke he sounds so done. «I need to change my name.» «Yes, I was there, he was big.» It breaks my heart to see him like that
Clarel was already warden commander at that time and the real Blackwall had a letter about how they just couldn't cross the border. If you ask how she is they say something among the lines that she might be trying to make up for that time, not able to help.
So Alistair doesn't talk about the Hero of Ferelden if he/she died? Shouldn't there have be option to ask him about how the Hero of Ferelden was? Like, high approval he wishes he/she was here dealing with this and not him, how he wishes he died against the Archdemon instead and he misses his friend.
Dorian Thomas Whatever do you mean? He was such a hero, and the whole game he reminds me of was simply fantastic! In all seriousness though, I would think Alistair already had his share of heroics to go through, letting Hawke play at being the hero to protect him wouldn't seem such an unthinkable thing to me. Plus, the warden(s) need him, and we need the wardens. Five down, two to go.
Dorian Thomas In which case Stroud needs to die, which again will leave the wardens leaderless. But yeah, in that case Alistair'd live either way. Then again, we wouldn't get to see very much of him in such a playthrough. Soooo... more dialogue with Alistair, and him saying he's happy with my warden, weighed against my Hawke dying? Yeah, nope, sorry Hawke, but I don't like to be reminded too much of DA2 in any case. :)
Unbiased opinion. I think out of all the characters in the series alistair was the best romance option. He was so sweet, loyal, and charming out of the bunch. The way he talks about his warden girlfriend is so heartwarming. ❤️ I remember on my third play through I was playing a female dwarf and alistair hit on me then gave me a rose. I asked him if he loved me even though i was a dwarf? (Because it’s not common for dwarfs and humans to date in ferelden.) he said yes! Especially because you’re a dwarf. 🙂 what a romantic guy.
@@yang6642 really in ALL my world states he/she are ALL alive. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔so a role for The Hero of Ferelden is possibly in the next dragon age. And I hope so😉😁😉
lone wolf 2SW Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see my Warden again but BioWare have already said that the Warden won’t make another physical appearance, there’ll be references to them I’m certain, but they won’t come back.
I like to imagine the calling sounding like the song fall into me from the black mirror soundtrack... imagining the warden starting to hum it when things are quiet is really spooky
i spent months crafting my relationship with Alastair. to see him as the independent grey warden in DAI, my heart strings played for him as i knew what would happen. from Ostagar to Crestwood, that is my companion and beloved friend. the unimaginable pain i felt when i had to leave him in the fade…if only our Hero were there to talk him out of it.
I'm convinced that Bioware isn't bringing the Warden back in person purely because DA:O didn't have voiced dialogue for the player character (aside from quips)
Considering how much he admired Duncan who was a dyed in the wool Warden and looked forward to dying in the Deep Roads out of duty, he must still feel guilty that in this scenario he's outliving Duncan.
well, the calling means the end of your time as a Warden. to hear it at such a young age, would be un-inspiring to say the least. which is why i think him being so grumpy at Redcliffe was because of the fake calling.
Sacrificing my Hawke was easy. Never will I sacrifice my hubby Alistair. Why easy? I'd die for him as a Warden, Hawke is just my Warden reborn in another body/life. Fenris or Anders who? I imagine my Hawke loves Alistair too. So Alistair > my Hawke any time everytime.
The part Alistair says about the Warden walking a dark path I assume that’s referencing the night with Morrigan but if not that then what could it be ?
I hate how Alistair talks about my Warden, who did the Dark Ritual. He speaks like I’ve done something evil when I talked to him before doing the Ritual. We both agreed that it was the best outcome and wtf you speaking like I’m not going to side with you and the Inquisition?

I used the Bi mod to make Alistair fall in love with my male mage, but the whole story path I chose led to him marrying Anora and in the end I let Alistair die killing the Archemon, because I knew my Mage could never bear to see him married and I thought It would be a cliché if my Mage died sacrificing his life for his love... so RIP Alistair in my DA World State.
You could keep him as a Warden, he wouldn’t marry another. It’d just mean that in Inquisition you’d need to choose between him and Hawke. You’d also need mods that allow M/M Alistair for his DA2 and DAI cameos. Alternatively, you could use the Anyone can Marry Alistair mod and keep him as King (as well an M/M Alistair mod for each game). You may still want to play as an MCousland (as opposed to another origin) to keep references to your char in later games as on track as possible.
And he still wasn't in Inquisition? I absolutely love all of his grey warden appearances in DA2 and Inquisition. The only problem is if I make him a grey warden and import it to Inquisition then I have to choose to either sacrifice him or my Hawke. There's no way I could ever sacrifice Alistair, but I also can't sacrifice my Hawke and leave Fenris alone. I just can't choose between the two. So it looks like I'll be making Alistair king and my warden his queen to save his life.
lol Blackwall "Duncan? Oh yeah Duncaaan...right. Good man *cough* *cough*"
