My rescues volunteer drove 10 hours on a country winding road. She got his shots, heart worm test and a year supply of heart worm medication before she brought him to me. He chewed his plastic crate up so she sent me a huge metal Great Dane size crate. He still loves that crate five years later. I told her he was itching so she sent me a $100 bag of dog food, treats and toys. I send her pictures of him every Holiday. She and the pound he came from vote for him every year for the Halloween Instagram Petco contest. These humans are GODS Earthy Angels.
A pit bull puppy was dumped on my country road. Her mange was worse. It took us a year to get our poor baby mange free. Our vet is a wonderful person who has worked with us before on two other dumped close to death dogs. There is nothing like saving them, loving them, and being rewarded every single day of our lives.
This breaks my heart! Too many dogs and cats! Too many puppy mills, backyard breeders. Not enough potential owners. I'm sure increased cost of living is a factor.
Mange is 100% curable. No excuse to euthanize any animal. God bless you Lee and staff for all you do. Many thanks to the transportation and original organization that rescued these innocent pups. ❤
Not everyone, whether individual, shelter or rescue, has the money, time, space, personnel or resources to treat mange. It's quite intensive when cases are as bad as these pups. The smell of them is from infection so that's additional medication in addition to everything else to treat it successfully. I'm so glad Asher House has the capacity, capability and willingness to tackle these cases. Each life preserved is precious.💕🐾🐾
