Darling, we adore you! I love that you used the canvas inverted. That way you have an instant frame! I have done many more altered books than canvasses because I don't consider myself a painter.
I like canvas for pieces to use as home decor art, or as a gift. I like journaling for easy storage.
I actually have done the canvas letters for teacher gifts. They turned out amazing and it was because of watching your channel that I came up with the idea to do it. Teachers loved it and used it in their class rooms and at home. Fabric, tissue papers, 3D stickers and beads…kids helped in picking out what each teacher liked.
I love both of these projects Marta! I especially love how you showed how easy and fulfilling it can be to make it both ways. I haven’t done a canvas in years and I’m ready to try again. Thanks for sharing all of you tips and positive comments. You are a delight.

I really love the canvas, the way you've done the wooden edges especially. I like the canvas because it's square and just feels more compact. The journal page does have a softer feel though. Great vid, Marta xx

Because I have lots of old books sitting around I prefer doing a journal instead of canvas. Doing re-purpose of old books is a great idea. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I do love both...but I think the journal. Simply because, like you said you can close the journal.
Both are very pretty and have their place in creativity. I feel that jpurnals are more personal and that canvas work and such are more for public viewing like gifting or selling.
Hi, Marta. Thank you for sharing this side-by-side demonstration for us. I think both the journal and the canvas turned out beautifully, but I would have to say I'm with Team Canvas. It's a small team, from what I've seen in the other comments, but I'm happy to be there. :) In particular, I like the 3D effect of the canvas. Granted, if I did this kind of work all the time, the journal would be more practical, for the sake of space. But I regularly work with canvases in my mixed media art. I normally paint the canvas, but I'm beginning to incorporate collage into my art, and I'm loving it! It was you who turned me on to this technique. Have a blessed day!

I love your art journals. Every time I see it, it is a source of inspiration for whatever else I want to do. It is a technique, a group of colors, a way of locating different kind of papers.. For me is the same. What if, for me it is different, is when you use other materials than paper and give more volume to your work. I love everything. Many kisses.
Both are equally beautiful. I do a lot of journaling, so my vote is for journaling.
No way to decide which I like more. I like the canvas because the three dimension is more prominent. The journal pages are free and open looking! Nice work!
I couldn't possibly choose. I love mixed media in all I do and this is just 2 different aspects of collage. I love and will definitely be doing it both ways.

Oh Marta, they both came out amazing! Love the texture and colors. I am team canvas 99% of the time, as I can give them as gifts or sell, as you know with my paintings I've been doing that for the past 6 years. I agree, they do take up more space though. However, art journaling is a fun way to decompress after a long day and you just want to create and relax. I can't wait to try this later today. Great job, once again!!!

I loved seeing both canvas and journal options. More of these would be lovely. I have always loved it when you use sprays stencils and pastes. I appreciate you. And I think I like the journal because it’s a bit bigger giving it more breathing space. ❤️. However they are both equally beautiful.

I love it on the canvas! But I equally love it in the journal. Yes for storing, the journal is better. For a one time project, I would prefer the canvas because I can add a little dimension. You sound so uplifting in this video. It makes me happy! Janet

You catching up w messages is like me trying to catch up with CZcams videos when I didn’t watch many for a month. Lol. They only stay in notifications for a month so I missed a lot n was trying to find them. I had to watch video at 1.75 to try n catch up. Just 1 week behind now. Lol. Everyone sounds funny.
I love the comparison. But my favorite is the art-journal, for the reasons you also already mentioned. Its easier to store and i love working in my art-journal and see the pages grow.

Marta, they are both wonderful. I have yet to try a canvas. I really like the reversed canvas base idea for a project due to the raised edges. It seems to allow for even more creativity. It is unique in appearance.

I love them both but the journal page just has the edge because it has more space and detail to appreciate. I thought it was really weird that you used the back of the canvas but it really works. I wondered where you were going with it at first as I’d never seen this before (I’m pretty new to art) and then realised it was a frame. Brilliant, love it! 😁
LOL, I too am a list maker. For me putting it on a list gets it out the mind chatter stage. I can either forget about it (because it's documented) or I can go forward with the next step easier.
I like journalling, not so much canvas art.

I'm definitely Team Art Journal but I do like both. I think it's because you get a full picture with the journal whereas the canvas cramps things up a bit. Love your work.

The canvas is nice to put on your wall but a journal is more contained! SO if I was going to do a canvas it would have to be really special . SO I would practice in journal ready for a master piece canvas! That is how a would look at it! We are all different ...Thank and appreciated!

I love this idea... would love to see more like this! Also a fun thing I found out about recently is that E6000 has glue in a spray bottle now so if you need something more heavy duty it might be worth looking into

because you can put it in a book and put it on a shelf and come back to it and continuously look at it. I like it that I will be able to take it with me when I leave and it doesn't take up much space. I do love the canvas as well and I think that doing canvas is an amazing art in itself. Because you can hang it on the wall and people coming into your space will be able to see it and admire it as much as you do hopefully. I don't have a lot of space for hanging therefore I don't do canvas well I haven't done canvas yet. I love your channel and I have in the past ordered from links (49 and market video) when I had a little extra. I am in the USA and you inspire me so much that not everybody does that for me you are one of the few people that I truly watch. I don't get to catch your videos all the time when they come out however I do try to catch up when I get time. Please continue to inspire me.

They turned out really nice! I love both! And it has a traditional Chinese black and white ink painting feel. I haven't been on CZcams in the pass year or so and I miss your video a lot. I think I like the canvas more because I like that butterfly more. Can't wait to catch up all your videos
