Algorithms brought me. Mugler kept me. I discovered his fashion as a teen in the late '80s. His perfume I was aware of. It was during the pandemic and YT and a sample mailed to me that POW! My daughter is ADDICTED. She is 14 but I indulge her. My mother did with me. A signature sent is a must second only to lipstick, always. 😂 My daughter loves the newer Nova the most of 4 she's tried...so far.

Alien Essence Absolu was an absolue(tly) amazing release, such a pity its discountinued - I stocked up on three bottles for a rainy day... R.I.P Thierry Mugler.. There are three generations of alien and angel wearers in my family, lets hope L'Oreal shows due respect to this powerhouse of a brand. Thank you for this video!!
I found Thierry Mugler in my early twenties, starting my fragrance journey and obsession/collection. Until then, I never found anything with such great longevity, protection and sexiness to add. If not for him, I might have been buying one boring Chanel at a time the rest of my life.
I’m probably going to give my Mugler samples a chance. Never tried it on me but Angel was such a popular scent that you can pick out in a crowd of people.

I love the house of Mugler. Angel is one of my all time favorite fragrances, although it seems as though it’s been a polarizing scent all these years, I still absolutely love it. Many years ago he also made three flankers of it which were the rose, peony and lily angels. I wish I can find the rose version today it was a masterpiece.
I love all your stories about getting into fragrance through Mugler. So many beautiful bottles in the ladies line, I remember when I first saw Alien I had to have it for my vanity. I took it out recently when I heard the sad news. Angel and Angel Muse also. I always thought there was a little oddness to the DNA of these perfumes, but I kind of appreciated that. I wasn't crazy about the newer releases though, I was gifted aura a few years ago but I'm not able to wear it - it has an icky kind of sweetness on my skin thats also kind of custardy and I believe something called a "wolf woods" accord. I loved all his work in the 90's, it was such a moment.

I remember smelling Angel for the first time in the early '90's. It blew me away with that rich chocolately patchouli and cotton candy; so different from everything else at the perfume counter. Still chasing that original Angel. The modern Angel is not the same. RIP Thierry Mugler

I love Angel, i was born in 92 so i feel like its MY scent. It works well with my chemistry. Lasts a long time on me too, by the end of the day I just smell like a patisserie. Like freshly baked goods. I love it so much. Im almost out of my current bottle so will definitely pick up another bottle soon ❤️

Fabulous video Sebastian 🙌🏻 I adore the liquorice/anise notes in perfume as well. One of my favorites is the original Lolita Lempicka, love it so much. Not quite green enough to be a freshie, nor sweet enough to be a gourmand, nor spicy woodsy enough to be a (traditional) uni, yet somehow the perfect balance of all of these things. In a class of her own, for sure! 💜🤍💚🖤

Thanks so much for doing this tribute been waiting for it. I 100% agree with this ranking, Angel also has a very special place in my life, a university crush in the 2000's 😍 🤣, although she "crushed" me and married another dude 🤣🤣🤣, but that was my introduction to Mugler and haven't fallen out of love with this house since. Mugler, a fallen genius ahead of his time and yes those sprayers are no good in the Amen line, bottles look good though on the shelf.
My favorites are Angel, Alien, Aura, Womanity, and Angel Nova. I love AMan on my husband. I haven’t smelled many of the other men’s fragrances.
I started wearing Alien in 2008. I still own a bottle but only sniff for nostalgia. I do wear Pure Havane, Mirior des Majestes, and Alien Oud Majestueux. Recently purchased Mugler Cologne and Angel Muse. Can't wait to try them. And today you made me curious about B*Men. Always like adding a few masculine fragrances to my collection. Mugler was iconic.

Angel remains the center of my collection and has the position of honor. I appreciate Mugler's innovation, creativity and foresight, adding chocolate and cotton candy to otherwise traditional fragrances. May he rest in peace 🙏.

My Kingdom for a bottle of Chyprissime!! I was sad that this amazing line of fragrance was discontinued. Cologne was the one fresh fragrance that i have received the most compliments on. I would love to come across a bottle before the change of packaging and sizing.

I started using Angel back in 1998 when my sister brought for me ,and I was still living back home in Cuba, moved out to the the state and since then is been my favorite perfume,I have tons the I like bit nothing get even closer .It has such a good smell with my ph the is unbelievable not to mention the stays on in me literally like the whole day .My second from the house it will be not doubled Angel Muse another one the I have been wearing since it came out in the market .Alien I can’t tolerate its something on the notes the I can’t wear it give me a strong headache. Overall I hope the don’t charge anything about because is truly my favorite perfume.

Great video! It seems like the brand has forgotten about the male fragances altogether. And in relation to what you said about Alien Goddess, they have been releasing flankers that have nothing to do with the originals, especially the Angel Eau Croisiere ones. I guess they use the names to sell more... 😕

Ultimate is my new favorite Angel Men.
Maybe it is the best because it has fresher juice.
I like to add into my Angel edp around five drops of pure ambrette oil. It really enhances the longevity and gives the scent a bit more depth! Try it if you have a refillable bottle! Also layering it with the body cream makes it a beast !

I still have the OG Angel Men in the steel case. Was able to get a refill last year.
No perfume collection should be without Mugler scents I was introduced to AMen by Thierry Mugler while working in the UK in the nineties. By a friend of mine, that was from France she told me she has purchased a lot of these after shave. And thought it would be a great idea, for me to smell this fragrance which she would recommended I purchased for my boyfriend at the time. And I did and I was transferred to a world of malt and spices that I totally adore. And even today I still purchased this fragrance, I also love the alien scents and own some of the fragrance from this line which I like to wear but I also have couple of bottles from the Angel line. But I don’t enjoy the original Angel scent because the dried down smell green on my skin but I really enjoy Angel Muse. Rip Thierry Mugler

Thank you for this overview. Just starting to explore fragrances, I heard so much about Alien from a housemate, she would rave about it, but I don’t recall her actually purchasing it. Fast forward over a decade and I’m seeing it on many CZcams favorites videos. With the recent FragranceNet sale I blind purchased a 1 oz bottle. So far I have sprayed it twice on paper and it smelled like pure chemicals! So not sure what that is about, but when you mentioned L’Oreal now owning the line, beginning to wonder if they are messing with the formula? Or could it be the paper that it was sprayed on? I will try it on my skin this weekend - hoping for better results! Angel also sounds interesting, as well a a few others, will order a tester of Angel next. Thank you again for this, I appreciate how you share not only the fragrance, but also the people that create it and other fragrances they have developed 👍🏻
Update: Gave Alien another try on my pulse points. It did not have the chemical smell like it did on the paper test. So either it was my sniffer or something in the paper I sprayed it on. Still not raving about it like my former housemate. A little heavy for my taste, but will try it again in the Fall/Winter. Still keeping Angel on my sample list to grab.

Aura is absolutely amazing. It’s so unique and out of this world. It’s perfect for a hot hot hot summer day, that’s when it really shines. Also, I disagree with your Alien Men flanker comment.. Alien Men Fusion is incredible.

There were others in the taste of fragrance line including angel (cacao taste) and alien (caramel taste). That was a really interesting experience in amping up the gourmand qualities of mugler though. I found angel to be wayyyy too much that I decluttered it (I just have never been able to come around to angel overall).

@@ThePerfumeGuy I wish some of the concept flankers like the liquers and these le gout de parfum lines were still around. They are not only interesting but unique to the brand. They also seemed to really keep with the flanker concept whereas today we see flankers that are basically new fragrances benefitting mostly from name recognition. Alien goddess could be said to be like that, though it is a fantastic fragrance! Hope you can get a sample, I think you'd like angel in particular given your history with it! If I had it still in my collection I'd have happily sent it your way 😭

Mugler Cologne is best in class. It's better than Creed Original Vetiver and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Also, Pure Shot/Energy is the best flanker of the Pure line.

Sadly I haven't found it. It's such a unique leather in that it's kind of gourmand like the A*Men dna but very rough animalic leather. You might try Tom Of Finland? But it doesn't have the roughness to me but it's a suede leather with light gourmand touches. Not identical or smelling similar but worth a try! :)

I prefer Aura EDT over Aura EDP.
There was something about the EDP that made me nauseous - maybe the mix of vanilla and green?
