- Jaby reacts to the trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, revealed at Epic Games' "State of Unreal" presentation during the 2024 Game Developers Conference. The game will see the ultimate team-up of two of the most iconic superheroes in Marvel canon, during an era of history where the world has been tested the most. Players will take control of one of four characters, Captain America (played by Drew Moerlein), Azzuri AKA King T’Chanda (played by Khary Payton), T'Challa's grandfather, Nanali (played by Megalyn Echikunwoke), a Wakandan spy undercover in Paris, or Gabriel Jones (played by Marque Richardson) a US soldier and member of the Howling Commandos, will cross paths as they join forces to stop the rise of Hydra during WW2. The game is helmed by Amy Hennig (Jak and Daxter, Uncharted series) and is set to be released by Skydance New Media in 2025.

This is all in-game, those cutscenes are in-game cutscenes, everything is in-game, it's so good looking it's unbelievable.

Yeah I saw it and was AMAZED. I wish insomniac uses that tech in Spider-Man 3

Ngl I had no idea this was meant for that new Captain America and Black Panther game and actually thought it was for a movie for a second, the graphics and facial capture is INSANE. Love hearing Khary Payton voice as T'Challa's grandfather .
I wasn't too hyped for this game however now I'm really looking forward to it.

Azzuri was such a bad a$$. Looks like the game's story will be somewhat based on the comic-books. There's a fight scene between Azzuri and Steve from 'Black Panther' anime comic-book series that aired on BET.......
I can tell that the lady is Megalyn Echikunwoke (voice of Vixen in many DC properties and also Hyde's half-sister on That 70s Show)

I’ve been saying since the final fantasy cgi movies that Hollywood needs to start doing this kinda stuff with movies, I’m excited to see them blending cinema with gaming! But think about how less restrictive they would have to be in a super hero movie if I just 3D scanned and modeled ur actors and had them perform and when things get super fantastical it just seemlessly slips right into crazy action sequences the movement would be capped so it could easily be avatar way of water scale mocap these days. It would support the super hero genre and still support actors as a whole because u still wan lt that real human emotion behind the performance!

The coolest part of Black Panther is Wakanda. So not sure i want a game just taking place in normal cities.
The lip-syncing seems to have taken a huge leap forward. It looks so realistic. There are AI programs that automate lip-syncing now. Wonder if they're incorporating something like that in this game or if mocap has just become that intricate.

The game isn't developed by Naughty Dog, so I don't think you can expect it to follow the Uncharted formula to a T or have the same level of detail. But it's a really neat concept so if they can nail the gameplay this can become something special.

Cap's a bit small, don't you think? It was fine for the movies. I feel like Cap should be swole, like most comics, but that is just my opinion
I think they’re either deliberately following the movie version because that’s what is most iconic and known… or it’s because they’re aiming more for of the grounded look. Characters in Uncharted didn’t ever look too big (that I can recall). I mean the main villain in Uncharted 4 had a Steve Buscemi vibe as opposed to someone super beefy.
