I've been doing this same thing since the 1990s. What I do is write down the stops, #1 to X then the rolls with the number. I write down the bank for each number. If the rolls are productive, I know where I got them from to go back again and if it's total duds I'll give them some time before going back.
If you don't have an account you can do usually $20-$50.
I'd do the same thing with a day off and fill a box of cent nickel dime and quarter like that then search on the weekend when I got time and nothing better to do.
Covid shut me down though, haven't hunted much since "the great coin shortage" in my area....
Of course ther was more silver in quarters and dimes in the 1990s still.

The light quarter was most likely dime stock and is quite a good find.. If you don't want it, send it to me.😊 While the reference books do not have this date, the wrong stock could be used on any date. "W" mints are always awesome finds. If you don't already have "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change" reference book, I strongly suggest you get it.

The S Mint NIFCs are lower mintage than Ws, but they were all sold mint direct and they all will be uncirculated nice, for a long long time. The Ws get more love because of that. You can't just put up a whole roll of Ws like you can with S mintmarks.

Go in, tell them "look I don't have an account but i really need a roll of quarters for laundry can you help me out please?". Most tellers will do that without an issue at all at any bank. You can't keep doing it though.
I'd say get an account, stop in regularly, talk to tellers and be friendly, talk to the manager, ect. Once you're known and can walk in and they recognize you then ask for coin but stick to $100 at first. Work your way up from there.

There is a slight possibility. Some people knowing that would be the final year of that design, but not knowing how many actually would be minted, may have experimented in making fakes. I also feel it could be some type of a thin planchet error.
