- Ever seen a Nimble Nomad? Probably not. Here's a cruise around Jupiter with local captain Peter Leo aboard his "VAMOOSE". Check it out.
If you live in Jupiter, leave a comment below. And if you can subscribe to the channel it helps spread the video around the internet. Also, I have another channel, Jupiter Inlet Boats, featuring boating action in and around the Jupiter Inlet as well as other local inlets like Palm Beach, Haulover as well as my trips to the Miami River.

Thank you Richard, and special thanks to your friend Peter for sharing Vamoose with us.
Many aren't familiar with the Nomad but it holds a special place for those that are. As Peter mentioned, the legendary Ted Hood designed the Nomad and other Nimble models as well. He designed them for Nimble Boats founder Jerry Koch, a yachtsman, boatbuilder and cable news executive that left TV to build boats full-time as Nimble Boats. The two had an established relationship since Ted had designed boats for Jerry in the past.
With only around 132 Nomads built, there's not a ton of Nomad content online. Your contribution added significantly to the trove. Thank you again, and please pass along my appreciation to Peter.
Wow, what a great comment. My wife and I went for another all afternoon cruise with Peter and I’ve got more footage coming. I didn’t talk too much about the boat but you’ll see plenty of it.
Thank you, this showed many things about the Nimble, and joy of cruising! Great job!
I was just out in the boat again on Friday and have miles of footage coming. Stay tuned.
What a great boat! THANK YOU FOR SHARING =)
This video did not do the VAMOOSE justice! It’s a world unto itself and a blast. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What a great guy and a great boat. You sure made me want to buy a Nimble Nomad. I wish Peter had a CZcams channel and posted some of his adventures with the Vamoose. By the way, this was a very well-made video. I subscribed.
Well thank you. I just took another all afternoon cruise with him and will have that coming soon. Stay tuned and thanks for the sub. BTW He is the guy that discovered the Jupiter shipwreck.
That boat is fantastic! All those windows are perfect. How heavy is that SUCKER and how far will she go on full tanks? LOVE THAT LITTLE CRUISER!!! 🌞🏝️🛥️😎🤙
The boat is very light, 24 ft., and the capt. trailers it all over. It is the greatest for just cruising around although it takes it to the islands too. Check the channel for the second video on the VAMOOSE. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@RichardSites Will do. I will look up the details on the boat. Very cool video. 👍
Very cool, like a pocket tug. Wish I could a seen a little of the galley setup and sleeping arrangement.
I made another video of the boat and one of these days I’ll get around to editing it.
Excellent Video !
Peter, please consider more short videos of your adventures on Vamoose. I would really like to see lots more about your trips to the Bahamas and crossing the Gulf Stream.
Oh, the background music is a but annoying and makes it harder to hear.
Thanks again !

Haha was out paddle boarding a week or two ago at the Tuesday Night Race League (you can easily spot me with the little kids on board) and we always love going past the Vamoose! And then I think we even caught you guys out for a cruise a little after that! Had to try and find out what I could about these epic little trawlers!
The boat is made by Nimble Nomad near Tampa. Right now it is on a trailer at Hobe Sound Marine and sitting by US 1 if you are up that way. Thanks for commenting.
Adventurous guy from the sound of it❤️🔥
Absolutely he is.
I hope that when all those grotesque condos are blown out to sea soon, this great boat survives.
Yeah, it's a special boat.
I absolutely LOVE this boat! I saw you out on the Loxahatchee a week ago and took a photo. Didn’t know it was your boat until I discovered this video.
It's not my boat, it belongs to a friend. BUT, he has pulled it to have the engines worked on and I just saw it yesterday sitting next to US 1 on a trailer at Hobe Sound Marine. You can see it there. I have part 2 of the trip to Trapper Nelson's coming soon.
@@RichardSites Nice video work on the first one. Looking forward to the second. I’ve been up to Trappers several times with our pontoon boat.
Cool
@@RichardSites Just found the drone video we shot on the Loxahatchee in 2015 when we got our new pontoon boat. czcams.com/video/s4pLCvcSV40/video.html
Nicely done. And nice hat!
Thanks
This is my idea of a youtube boat ride, thanks
You can't help but smile the whole time you're aboard that boat, it is so much fun. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I would love to come up there and explore. I'm from michigan, we have similar lakes, just not that vast. Thanks again.
I just bought a 91 NOMAD and currently refitting her. Hope to have her in the water by 4-22
If you are in Florida, we should make a video!! You might also be interested in my other channel: Jupiter Inlet Boats.
@@RichardSites I am just outside of Amarillo, Texas and a long way from water! Out cruising ground will be Lake Texoma this summer.
Can I ask what you paid? looking at a 24'
Nice video, except I wish people wouldn't put music in the video distracting and nature sounds would be much more appealing. Have a nice day🙂
Thanks for watching
Great video, could you do another one showing the entire inside including berth? Supposedly there is a company that has weekly rentals of a Nomad on the Erie Canal.
I don't get aboard the vessel very often.
Rideau Canal is beautiful. Done it numerous times.
Cool
Hermoso barco

You did not give a tour of the inside of this cute boat.. it is really unique for the tiny tug.
Another day
🙂
Thanks for watching
What size is your outboard and do you know your approximate mpg.
He has a new Honda 70 horsepower and the boat only cruises at 6 mph so I'm sure the mileage is very high. Thanks for watching and commenting. BTW I've got another Vamoose tour filmed waiting to be edited and another interesting boat tour coming up in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
Most NOMAD came with a 3 cyl 50 hp Honda. Mine has it and in my first use, it used 6.5 gallons in ten hours. Not bad!
A full displacement boat with a top speed of 6 knots would probably be much more economical with a smaller engine but 4 bladed prop with lower pitch. $0 would more than enough.
Thanks
Should have read 40 hp would be more than enough.@@RichardSites
Not versatile enough hull design for New England Waters.
You're probably right..
It is a butt ugly boat ,but I already want one ! LOL !
They're pretty hard to come by
Love the shirt! Coinjock is not far from me. ;)
