- An audio version of inta sowkhyamani nE rendered by the great Sri K.V. Narayanaswamy. Tani Avartanam to follow. The concert was held in Thiruvanmiyur in December 2001.
Vocal: Palghat Sri K.V. Narayanaswamy
Violin: Sri S. Varadarajan
Mridangam: Unknown
Ghatam: Sri Sivaramakrishnan - Hudba
His voice is always the same! No matter how old he was!! This was in 2001.. The Best kapi ever. His gamakas and sangathis... No one can ever accomplish that.
KVN had the great ability to bring purity, classism and peace in his music. His diction ( uchharippu) was impeccable. A great master. Never rushed or resorted to unwanted brigaas or sangathis. Listening to his concerts did bring in a lot of peace of mind. A great vidwan who will remain in music lovers mind for ever.
very true.
Very true. Extremely relaxed development of the ragam in the kriti rendition neraval and Kalpana swara patterns.
One of the finest, greatest kaapi renditions......all time great...
Amazing musicianship by His Highness Neraval Narayanaswany. Just shows how well you can accomplish without indulging excessive theatrics. Varadarajan, KV Prasad and Sivaramakrishnan admirable support. We will never find a replacement for KVN.
This should have billion views. Mridangam during 14:20 - 14:35 VOW !!!!
What beautiful Kaapi and What Sowkhyam! One and only KVN Mama! We miss him 15 years after he left us. Wonderful accompaniments as well. Thanks for sharing. It is indeed KV Prasad on Mridangam. 100% it is KVP. Varadarajan on violin is so pleasing.
Aha Legend K V Narayana Swami On Fire 🔥🔥
No one will be able to sing this song better than Sri KVN.
Takes me to the seventh heaven! What an artist - one in a million; hope the spiritual soil of India would produce many more of such geniuses for the future generations to celebrate, enjoy and follow humbly remembering the giant like KVN sir on whose shoulders they would be standing you. Jai Hind
The perfect way of rendering kaapi owsome rendering .The mruthangam player just singing the keerthana in mruthangam....
This is not one of the best rendering of this raga but THE best. The pace, nuances, the accompaniment, all are excellent. I would love to listen to this sitting on an easy chair with my feet popped up on my bed and ofcourse closing my eyes and drift to another world.
yes
Yes aptly described
very well put......
There is a recording of MDR singing kapi which is out of this world
Well said
I love Sri KVN, and his disciple Sri Pattabhirama Pandit. Just listening really motivates you to become a better musician yourself. :)
Pattabhi is yet to reach SOWKYA of KVN
No words, EXcellent 🥰
Sri K V Prasad Sir-Mridangam
Internet and CZcams is like a varaprasadam for for real music lovers we are. In aanandaparavasyam somo of the aitms presented by few divyagayakas and players Mrudangm and violins
great singing. Mirudangam is lovely playing.
Without tears flowing down our we can not listen to this evergreen rendition..our koi punyam
Yes sir. Absolutely yes. Perhaps the best rendition.
ஆயிரம் தடவை கேட்டாச்சு. இன்னும் ஆயிரம் பாக்கி....தெளிவான, தெவிட்டாத இசையின் உச்சம் இது....👌
The 'MRIDHANGAM' is so well tuned giving out melodious sound....enhances the excellent rendition of the keertana by Sri KVN. the violin adds exuberance to the music. Sri KVN was an inimitable classicist in his own right with a penchant for creating heavenly music.!! listening to him, interspersed as it were with quality accompanists....the experience could be DIVINE beyond one;s expectations.
You must listen to Sri H V Srivatsan sometime. He has perfectly imbibed the spirit of The Master, Sri KVN's music, like none other.
Palaghat Narayanaswami always gave very beautiful rendition on Kappi/Karnataka Kappi. God bestowed up on him this rare talent
No words! The divine music of KVN cannot be described, only deeply experienced!
What a Kapi.good rendition by kin and Mira all is also very fine. The accompaniments are also good. Who has played mirudangam. Very fine to hear. Unforgettable one. I am always hearing this song.
Really wonderful singer, ALMIGHTY’s gift
Excellent!. Thanks for uploading.
Relaxed Kapi at its best. Thanks for posting this gem.
Perfection in every way. Beyond words.
The rendition of kapi raga thiagarajar keerthanai and Nita always I charanam are fantastic, the accompaniments are also fine
The best kapi I have heard. Very soulful.
Simply superb rendering!!!
what a beautiful rendition of the krithi and a scintillating thani
enlighting soothing rendition
Excellent mridangam.....
among other things a great neraval. This is definitive rendering of the composition!. tnx 4 sharing!
perfect kaapppi........
Thanks mate! What a Kapi! in 2001 as your post says. He was not with us in May 2002. What an irrepairable loss! My eyes, poignant, as my mind wallows in the standards that he is setting out, the seeking for the perfect note, the glide, the delineation of Rishabha from the Gandharam... As he improvises in the tara shayi, the audience breaks into applause at one point.....The blend of aggression and sowkyam.... Long live mate, for the Degree Coffee! :)
absolutely.....i agree.....connoisseurs will agree.... of real CARNATIC STYLE of music making at its 'apex'...?
This serene rendering transports one to a state of meditation....all time favourite....Koti Namaskarams
Wow amazing.
Simply great!! nothing to say...Thanks for uploading this song. God bless.
IndhaSowkyamu can not be sung any better way. only K.V.N COULD DO

I listen to it almost every night before sleeping off. A timeless masterpiece and soothing to the limit possible . What a legend !
Varadarajan's violin is so selfless!!
Amazing violin. So much of discipline in following the vocalist
Raga --- Kaapi
I agree with you - this sounds like Sri K V Prasad's. Sri Sivaraman's chapu, arai chapu, gati bedam are distinctive - missing those in this piece! Enjoyable all the same as Sri Prasad has done a great job, as has the Ghatam vidwan.

I agree with your assessment. Sri UKS's chapu and arai-chapu are very distinctive - missing those as well as his usual gati bedam in this piece. Additionally, some of the sequences (sollukkattu) are more of Sri Prasad's style. Very enjoyable all the same! The Ghatam vidwan has done a very good job as well.
I think you are right :) Thanks for the clarification

Mrudangam played by Padmavibhushan Sri Umalyapuram Sivaraman
No his play will be little bit harsh
Welcome :) I think KV Prasad is on the mridangam. I remember having bought this CD from Charsur, a friend borrowed and it never came back :)

Oh what a rendering! PUTUT RAO
can we have the raga alapana too ?
Is Ghatam by Sivaramakrishnan? I haven't heard a mridangam vidwan by that name :-)
It is indeed a great joy to relish K.V.Narayanaswamy's soul stirring recitals bringing out the beauty of each raga and conveying the composer's message with full of bhava.
Shocking dislike by 28 people.R they Joking?
You are wrong Suhas! :) It is Sri K V Prasad on the mridangam.

Who are the two losers who disliked this ?? KVN will always be the knight of Carnatic Music !!!
yes.music appreciation is...''Poorva-Jalma- Punya-Phala.''......it will not happen in all people.!!
Isn't it Palghat Raghu on Mridangam? Blind guess, but there's a good chance that I'll be right. :)
