- Which camera company has the most potential right now to make the perfect camera? The big 3 Canon, Sony, Nikon? Or an underdog Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus (LOL). We are testing the Nikon Z6 III vs Sony A7S III with the same adapted lenses for F mount, Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 and Zeiss Planar 85mm f1.4. Does Nikon have enough dynamic range? stick to canon, SONY SOOCKS BLACK ARSE
Kasey, you 'should' name this video like a clickbate: "Which camera companu should YOU byu in 2024" =)
Kasey, could you show your software workflow? How you edit your videos, how BIG are files from RAW and from Sony a7SIII?
One video to cover all major spots on how-to make videos.
You stepped on holy ground of Panasonic and now they punished your feets with sharpener rocks.
Sacrificing the comfort of your feet to get an interesting shot is appreciated.
Never heard a word you said. I spent 16 minutes and 38 seconds trying to figure out what that 'thing' on the left is/was.
The answer is Panasonic.
I have to admit I like the way you evolve from filters, lens, camera systems (and diets) and admit it. “Tried it, liked it but now I don’t.” 👍
I never bought anything else than panasonic and i never will. A brandnew gh7 is mine now 😎
Black pro mist/glitter glass filters remind me of early 90s soap operas. I'll never understand why they bother buying $4000 cameras and $2000 lenses only to put a filter on it to make it look like it's a $400 10 year old camera. These are the same ad-fluencers claiming only full frame is professional because smaller sensors "have too much noise," and yet, they apply fake cheap-looking film grain to alllll of their footage. The cognitive dissonance is bonkers.
Check out how they filmed The Curse, similar approach
Its the lens not the camera that creates the bloom edgy boy. Difference is you can apply that bloom on any lens with a filter and take it off if you don’t want to.
It's to replicate the cinema cam look. They are softer and more pleasing on skin tones. Most mirrorless are too sharp and digital looking, so I get why people use them.
@@cameraconspiracies But is it really replicating the cinema cam look, though? I honestly don't see cheesy 90's soap opera looking blooming highlights in many movies. Mission Impossible, Mad Max, The Matrix... these movies don't have blooming highlights. I recently watched Asteroid City and re-watched Moonrise Kingdom, both by Wes Anderson. No blooming highlights anywhere and he's filming on actual film so at least his film grain is legit.
I prefer to look into claims rather than repeating old wives tails told by ad-fluencers who are trying to sell you their black pro mist/flitter glass filters or are doing sponsored segments for these filters. I don't see blooming highlights in the vast majority of movies. Maybe movies from the 70's like Murder On The Orient Express. That movie has crazy blooming highlights, halation and loca!
@@yousefcreative It's in a ton of movies, and used to soften skin.
Almost time to add one of those auto track gadgets so you can pace back and forth while ranting. I'm not quite sure what to make of this focal distance. It's not the cinema but neither is it vlogging. It's kind of like the crazy guy ranting in a field distance. Very appropriate.
You out of this world, Panasonic or BlackMagicDesign, Just get better image processing (less) and slighty better color science and theyre the best camera with the best stab ever.
BMD have the best color science after Arri and best image after Red and Arri (maybe just Arri ?) imo but no autofocus and stab..... Just buy BMD and Panasonic and this will the best cameras ever.
Panasonic dishonnest and buying Sony ? Sony is the worst compagny ever, they make psychic weapons for the CIA and more
I for one can't tell the difference between your 4K and 6K footage on my cell phone.
try a 32" cell phone
No phone has 4k screen except for sony you won’t able to tell any difference
@@sn_vidsmy Google Pixel 7 Pro has a 2K+ display (3160 x 1440). It should be able to detect at least a little difference in clarity. I see no reason for most people to record at above 4K, and certainly not to render above 4K.
6k looks much much better on a big screen. Not everyone is a phone junkie a@@JohnDrummondPhoto
That’s the rub, I’d say 90% of content is on a mobile device…so 4k is more than enough.
Pentax . . . Just Do It 📷
Sony ZV E1! Excited to see the best lens for it
I don’t know that much about cameras but I do know your Video quality is pretty much the best and b roll stuff is amazing
Kasey wants faster and faster fps on his cams. I'm starting to think he's actually secretly The Flash. Btw, would love you to make a video about FOMO. You do talk gear but that's your job and I think you'd be one of the few CZcamsrs sane enough to talk people down off the FOMO ledge.
When I was a kid I could walk on burning hot asphalt and sharp gravel in my bare feet without a care in the world. I didn't have sandal tan lines on my feet though.
Now I don't have tan lines on my feet but rough carpet is unpleasant to walk on with my bare feet. Guess I need to start grounding.
Thanks for the great story! I was curious about your childhood feet, and you answered all of my questions!
@@tkc5793 Just spent all day at the beach or the pool. I was really fortunate. We didn't have any money but my parents never let us really know it. Beach was free, pool membership was cheap "babysitting"
In this video the Zeiss lens definitely best image quality. Ever so slightly prefer the Nikon colours over Sony, but really splitting hairs. I wouldn't let the difference in colours in this video sway my decision.
On my TV, the Nikon destroyed the Sony in every aspect
The scenery today was not it, the PoP was too soft.
😅
I challenge you to film in graffiti alley, like the ones on Queen St. were Rick Mercer would film his rants for "This Hour has 22 minutes" - I want to see how well it contrasts with plaid shirts lol
Thanks,
Also, I miss the squirrels 😊
Try the Sony 20mm 2.8 APSC lens on the ZV-E1. Awesome compact setup.
The Ronin 4d 8k is the perfect vlogging camera lol. Dji is making some cool stuff though for real. I can see them making a handheld FF in the future. Their lidar is actually becoming pretty good with updates as well.
Your best looking footage to date was done when Yiu tested the S511x, and then again on the G911...Bees and horses I believe. Panasonic probably doesn't send you cameras because you dropped the S511x in the floor and then included that in the footage... Is that what's keeping you from getting back to your best footage?
I agree.....
I rewatched that S5 II X video a couple of months ago.. and was blown away by how good the footage looked :D
I see you love making videos. Try cinema cameras. No Nikon yet, but Sony and Canon have some cool options. EOS C70 for example has 16+ stops DR, built-in ND, 16:9 sensor and many other tasty features
Nikon sky is more blue.
Good comparisons on this video, but the lack of the gold standard to compare against (BMPCC OG) means that it could have been better. :)
The Z6iii seemed to be a tiny bit colder and maybe a touch less magenta, but other than that I thought they were both really nice.
4:39 is it the same lens for S-log and N-log? I couldn't track which you were using in each, I rewound a couple of times and didn't catch it. They look really darn close. Nikon has a bit more sharpness in the field that was in focus (I think you did a great job with both) but I wonder if it is due to the higher megapixel sensor on the Nikon capturing more. Still the old Sony stands up remarkably well for 12mp and years older. It's wild!
Again, the Sony WB is too warm. You should use a grey card to set exposure and white balance. You're using Markus Pix' zebra hack but he's a film-maker who understands exposure. The grey card is actually faster and more accurate if you use it correctly.
They're both too warm. Figured it's the Voigtey glass.
@@944play The Sony is worse because it has has magenta skies. Using a grey card will neutralise the colour cast, whether it's from the wrong WB setting or lens coatings.
They are both warm but you’re blaming Sony, WB has nothing to do with exposure.
@@JojoJoget Yes, it does. Underexposure leads to oversaturation and vice versa. To set WB correctly, you must first set exposure correctly. With a grey card, you first spot meter exposure, then you spot meter WB. It will always yield correct results.
Cripple hammer will find you and turn you into a GIF
The Zeiss 32mm f1.8 for Fuji is great, but is definitely overpriced at MSRP. You can find them for a lot cheaper on the used market.
Hey Kasey, I use the XT5 (70-300) for birds and wildlife, AND PLANESPOTTING, and also I recently started shooting on vintage film cameras like the Olympus OM-1 and OM-10. I would appreciate if you'd roast me a bit for this. Thank you.
Masochist detected
Manual focus, I guess?
@@krakrug3958 manual everything lol
You are lot nicer to people 😀
😂😂 just I like ur body language 😂😂
I laughed and giggled watching this video,
sometimes I even turned the sound on
Nice fanny pack btw. I’ve been wanting to get one. Tired of shit in my pockets!!
Not even barefoot hiking can compensate for Sony white balance.
I am looking to buy my first camera and can't decide at all. I will be going places on my bike so needs to be somewhat light and compact. I want to shoot flowers, trees, nature stuffs. I am tight and don't want to spend a lot on lenses. Should i just go for a dslr? Or maybe an olympus omd em1 ii. THe problem is i like bokeh
The audio isn't as good in today's video? - the E1 is fantastic :)
I stopped shooting in SLOG3 too. I also switched to, gasp, 8-bit! 😮 If you shoot with PP off, you don’t need 10-bit.
Not enough Toneh. I can tell it's a lake and trees behind you.
The shadows kinda gave away the DR.
I'll never get that time back
Canon V10! Please compare original stabe to firmware update stabe! The update made it so much better! It’s a great pocket cam. ❤
This subject is very interesting and engaging. 8:04 Consider adapting a Kipon 0.8x focal reducer to a Fujifilm GFX medium format camera, which would provide a field of vision similar to 645 on video. This allows you to use lenses from Pentax 6x7, Hasselblad 6x6, Pentacon Six, and Mamiya 645, as long as you can focus manually.
who would give a damn, he wants that camera to only have a 12mp sensor, total junk at that size and that resolution. It would be like filling in pixels with a crayon
Kainok....hahaha! You are a hero.
I'm happy he is using Nikon again and has said... some... favorable things about the system. This validates my choice to use Nikon and I can enjoy watching the channel again. I will however boycott watching any more content if I feel my system of choice is not getting an acceptable level of recognition.
Love the shirt, thanks.
Zf better DR, if rolling shutter is not a problem
A two dollar pair of flip-flops from the bargain bin would save us all from your torture walking on jagged rocks. Some might say contact with mother earth heals us and makes us live longer. But when you think about us, the maximum contact we have with the earth is when we are dead and buried. Mist filters have a purpose in real life. If your subject is an older person who is not fond of their own hard-won wrinkles, then the mist filter smooths them out. They have entire lenses for that, in fact and I even have one. The Canon 135mm f2,8 soft focus. It also makes a sort of "fairy-glow" around the subject. It is true that sharp contrast is sacrificed on the alter of vanity, but some people want to look a little younger, and not a little more realistic.
I want 40 stop oversampled 20 stop dynamic range! 😆
hi kasey, what if you open up the nikon z6iii and remove the mechanism for the dial?
You have more confidence in me than I do lol.
Fuji is a pharma company now
I am very picky about cameras. I have working cameras from Panasonic, Olympus. Kodak, Lomography. Nikon, Sony, Canon, Pentax, Exakta, Minolta, Zorki, Graflex, Ricoh, Bronica, Fujifilm, Polaroid, DJI, GoPro, and Agfa. In digital my favorite is Panasonic Lumix, and in film my favorite is probably Nikon. The only camera I really dislike is the Exakta Varex VX, and the one I most love is probably the Panasonic G9. The one I shot on for the most years is the Pentax MX, but it is only a so/so camera beside the Nikon FA. My best photographs were taken on the Minolta Autocord, and I have taken bad photographs on every camera I own. Having said that. I have also taken wonderful photographs on every camera I own. Except for that d*rn Exakta Varex VX. Hate that camera, but it looks good. I am saving up to get the GH7. I don't know that I will get another one after the GH7.
Love the channel! I am an amateur in every sense, amateur photographer, amateur diet, amateur opinion. I bought a used XT3 and upgraded my old X20 (2013). I take pictures of stupid things, but I have a lot of fun fumbling the dials. It's nice being a Labrador with a camera.
I have to admit too, whilst I own both the z9 and z8, nothing gives me more fun and joy than taking the Zf with a Voigtländer MF lens and just going out on to the streets, having fun. Or even my ancient 60mm 2.8d macro lens.
So so good to fiddle with the exposure knobs and dials, brings the fun back to photography. At least imho.
Lumix is the future of cameras, when Sony changes its E mount, and it has to its reached the limit of that mount. Sony will go to an L mount system. L mount will become the future mount of all cameras. Lumix actually bring up regular updates for firmware and has a huge choice of lenses, more features and its priced to sell.
Sony buyout to the moon, when you switched to the Nikon, I preferred the look of the Sony. Sound like the Sony and I had better sound too
Wait, 4k RAW in the Z6iii doesn't have a 1.5x crop? How is it RAW then?
Through lies and misinformation :)
believe it or not RAW is not standardised and that in turn means that anything goes 🤷♂️
News Flash - massive Z6iii recall! They found Listeria in the RAW images.
You walking on those rocks takes me back to last week when I was on the rocky shore of Lake Superior. I could barely even walk on the damn pebbles. I've never had tough feet, but that was ridiculous! SMH
WOW what a story!
sHaKinG mY heAd!
@@tkc5793, I'm glad I added purpose to your life. You clearly needed it.
I use a Fuji xt5 with the 150 - 600, what’s the best wildlife settings for videography in your opinion ?
How can the companies make the same lenses? Isn't the glass a natural product with its own uniqueness on each individual lens?
Voigtlander is a great stuff, but imo requires some color correction
I was lucky to buy it in 2020 for something like $280
wow, that Nikon makes you look like you're using a wireless mic. LOL
Is it true that you've never experienced dreams involving cameras or digital devices? Have you ever had a dream in which your cameras played a role?
Would you buy a Sony if it could do 4k 240 but at the cost of the sky being even less blue?
GH7 every day video. S9 action camera. G9ii telephoto. S1R portraits (to upgrade to the S1rii beast that is coming one day... maybe today). And S1hii.
Sony, the sky is blue!!!
The Nikon looks SO much better!!!!!
"douche-tuber light " LOL gonna use that
nice sandal tan 👍
OM System is the only answer 🗿
I found a amazing lens with loads of 3d pop nice colors and super compact size. And it was only $25 blew my mind. industar 50-2 m42 Mount. 50mm f3.5 .
No way he will use Communist glass.
But is it radioactive?
That's where the magic comes from 😅
@@ItsWillLee no as far as I'm aware none of the industar lens are radioactive.
3D pop 2 minutes in nice zeiss and Sony
I know you hate the Sigma 500mm T5.6 but what I see from others‘ footages, the OSS seems to be fairly stable. I don‘t think the Sony IBIS can contribute that much to a synced IBIS at 500mm. Maybe Camera Canada has got your back? Cheers!
Gonna be hard to beat my Nikon wildlife setup.
@@cameraconspiracies but deep inside you know that you have to give it a try… ;)

Buy Fuji and hire someone to fix their AF and add a couple FF cameras...
Where is your Voigtlander posted for sale?
I wanna buy it 😈
Yes! 💪♥️
I paused 20 seconds in....whatever lens you shot this scene on, that's the one....back to the show.
Are you planning to buy a company?
Thank you for not buying Canon, much appreciated 👍😎 You should really buy Panny Boy 😝🖐
Sony. All day. Thanks for the edits at the end! Plus I was all excited because I thought this was another roast session. 😢
Finally couldn't take those rocks and switched to your Jerusalem Cruisers.
Please buy OM Systems. They need vision like yours. But you're going to have to hire some imaging engineers, because I don' think Olympus sold them anything but marketing material. They're like protohumans dancing and fighting around a mysterious obelisk they couldn't possibly understand, but to which they owe everything.
Owning a camera company? Who does this guy think he is, Mitsubishi?
12mp medium format? LOL the photo sites would be so damn large that the image would be nothing but fuzz and look like total shit
All the good cameras are logitech webcams.
Stick with Nikon works with sigma 60-600mm can't beat that range!
If you buy Nikon you have to be careful to not be too successful or Sony won't sell you sensors anymore.
Kasey, the TZM-02 with Voigtländer please 🙏
I don't have any M glass.
@@cameraconspiracies gotcha. Thought the Voigty stuff was adapted
Everyone knows the answer for a video shooter is Sony
Banks on Z8 are great, and upgreadable!
For photography, I am switching to APSC. I am stuck between choosing the a6700 vs XT5. I am not a professional who shoots at weddings or events.
I reckon you can’t go wrong with either of them. What are you mainly shooting?
@@blade1535 I plan to use the camera for street shots, any bar during big games, family friends. But mostly street photography.
Nobody makes better content than this great man🙌🏽
Standard is better at first glance than S log BUT, Maybe S Log could be better to color grade seems there is room to play with, but both color science make your skin look like you have a ugly yellow/orange teint (Obvious on feet, it's really ugly) Did you set the white balance though ? With the Markus Technique
That's Sony A7S III jaundice. Hoping ZVE1 fixes that. All were at daylight white balance this video.
@@cameraconspiracies You could just do a lut for the A7SIII jaunice
After much deliberation I went with the Fuji X-T50 w 16-50 kit lens. I wanted small and packable. High mp for photos. I wish it had a fully articulating screen, but oh well! I also know there are compromises with the video. I am not a pro. This is for my own artistic satisfaction. Suggestion on Fuji lens for sick Tonehs?
Nikon looks green to me.
As an owner of WAY too many cameras and I've shot them all at least at some point in my life. I like Sony and Nikon the best honestly. I love the lens selection on E-Mount and autofocus. For Nikon the best feature that I love and use the most are the Shooting Banks and Custom Settings Banks. They make changing from any genre to another a complete breeze, pretty much instantly. I shoot with the Nikon Z9 but the banks are the same on the Z8. Just saying... This solves the weird left hand push-button, fingernail-breaking mode dial issue.
But those cameras don't have 240p, even though they do 8k 60p raw lol. And no flippy screen.
@@cameraconspiracies oh ya... i didnt consider the vlogging and slow-mo. Touche my man.
Fujifilm has the most potential. If they announce a full frame system and fix the autofocus, they would take over big time. Also I would like them to release a line of manual lenses.
They went medium format, they'll never release full frame in the middle of their 2 systems.
Bloody hell as much as I love this channel I have to be happy with X-H1, X-T1, D3S, D7100 and Olympus EM1-MKii Screw video I’m a photographer but I can still get stuff done with older gear. Owning 3 systems with some good glass is has worked out less expensive than getting into any new gear. I’ve never been able to afford a brand new high end body. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Photographer is happy even when given old cameras like nex6 or a6000. Not much has changed except faster AF
Videography demands a lot of feature to make life easier. IBIS, AFC, mic input, HDMI, 10bit, etc
0:17 how about you buy a SHOE COMPANY. It looks great though; 4:49 Not only did you switch cameras, you also switched shirts! Just like you, owning two very similar shirts with a slightly different color; 9:20 I would buy Voightlander and order them to release a new rangerfinder-like camera that's compatible with their glass, and a full frame compact camera (something between RX1, Q3 and X100VI)
Nikon has better image look, sorry
Why are you wearing my wife's pants
