Using Kerocine or other oil as a midium makes your painting dull and Matt. Only use camelin lincid oil to mix the paint. More turpentine with lincid oil also makes the painting Matt. Use 70 -30 lincid and turpentine (camel only) reshow

Thanks for the information. I am using 80-20 mixture of refined turp and linseed oil, both from Camel, a jel settles at the bottom of the bottle. Is it OK? Refined linseed oil smells very badly. I got some odourless mineral spirit, same thing happened when I added 20% linseed oil to it. Otherwise I am satisfied with this mixture. Gamsol is expensive, I have to come back to turp.
Another problem I am facing. Black colour, ivery black or combination of burnt umber & ultramarine blue take lot of time for drying. Could it be related to the mediums I am using.

Camel camli-gel oil painting medium is supposed to be a cheaper (Rs 160 for 100 ml) Indian substitute for Liquin. Have you ever tried it? How is it compared to Liquin?

Hi, I have problem using oil paints. As the background is wet then how do i add a layer above it? It getting mixed eith the background and also what is the best way to clean brush for a fresh color? Any help?
The next layer you use should be thicker than the background layer.

Please note that turpentine is a bit dangerous for our health. If you use it, then ensure that your room is very much ventilated or your are outdoor. Some people have breathing problems after inhaling turpentine vapours/smell. There are many videos on internet where expert artists suggest alternatives to turpentine.
