Two Baby Seals Joined Together By Fishing Line And Hook

- These two seals must have been in indescribable pain. They were not only wrapped up in the same piece of fishing line, one of them also had a fishing hook pierced through his mouth. No matter how hard they tried to shake it off or break away from each other, every movement would have hurt themselves and each other even more. Every movement would have tightened the fishing line around their necks even more until their untimely passing. They are seals, they are not able to coordinate their movements and their shared entanglement would have hindered them from finding their mothers. The OCN rescuers Wally, Kat and Antoine got to them just on time and they watch the two seals jump back into the ocean - alive and rescued. 🦭

It’s a curse because it makes them severely harm each other.
It’s a blessing because they were easier to catch that way.
It sucks. But the both of them got incredibly lucky.

I always love how each of you talks gently and compassionately to the seals. Naude's "it's okay, it's okay" , Tony's "go puppy go go go!", Wally's " oh, what a shame". Kat & Denzil's quiet, ready assistance. You all show compassion in different ways and I think that's what keeps people watching.

I love the way Tony talks to these “puppies!” I love how he says “you don’t need this anymore.” Love watching the beautiful work these guys do!
His sand side manner is my favorite, too.
Why does it seem he’s the most likely to get bit? I think it’s because he throws himself into every rescue completely and puts the animals before himself.
Is Tony a father? I thought they had said he wasn't, I remember they said Denzel is a new father of a little boy (I think) just a few months old now, and I don't think Wally is a father either. I could be wrong about Tony and Wally, but I'm pretty sure I heard them say Tony isn't a father; it was in their Q&A from November of last year. But about Wally, I can't recall what was said. Anyways, kids or no kids, Tony is amazing when it comes to talking to the pups and the older seals. I love hearing him talk to the pups; it's so calming, soothing, and just so sweet. He's such a great man, well-spoken, well-mannered, seems like a genuine person/friend from what I see in the videos. Whoever is or becomes his lifetime partner is or will be a very lucky individual. Their lives would have Very short. Especially the one with the hook and line around it’s flippers, the other one would have been dragging the dead one for a while. This rescue saved both their lives.

Noooo! These puppies are So little and so vulnerable. To see Puppy #1 strangling on the line was horrible but he was rescued quite quickly. Puppy #2 was a good patient and thankfully that hook had no barb and was easily removed.
Great tactics and OCN are using the water to your advantage a bit more now when necessary.
It's lovely to see Kat involved, literally hands on, in the rescue of Puppy #2.

It's always bad when the adult seals get lines, hooks, or other rubbish around them or stuck in them, but it's always that much worse when a little seal pup has it happen to them. Great rescue team. OCN always rocks 👍👍

Wow....did this rescue lift my spirits today. I am shut in disabled...get very down. Then I see a little sea baby who is in worse shape....actually hopeless! Until it's rescue angels appear on the beach and in the water to save them. Thank you for giving life to those two little sweeties.

This was really fast considering how bad those hooks are and the damage they can cause. I don't want to imagine the day when you witness a full size bull getting one of these things, that's going to be seriously hard to solve. Gj OCN.

I know I felt so bad. And the back flippers too, wound up so tight! With the other seals pulling on the net (either to try to set them free, for fun, or just curiosity) must’ve hurt so bad! Poor babies! So glad these guys are there to help make a difference in positively impacting a seals life or straight up saving it, in this case! God bless them!

And then I come here and watch what you guys are doing, and I feel proud of you guys and your work, and it rejuvenates my faith that there is still some hope for us. Sometimes your videos and the work you do is the only thing that redeems my faith in humanity

Omg....I just watched this on my 65" TV screen, holding my breath!!! I was thinking it should have been on Animal Planet, instead of CZcams!! Extra kudos for Tony's water attempt, along with Kat's assisting! It's difficult work, but removing entanglements and hooks must feel euphoric!
