This show was the number one anime on My Anime List for many years only recently having been bumped to #2 by Frieren. It is a great story. And Winry is one of my favorites in the cast.
Ok, it's not a spoiler now. Pinako is a heavy smoker, heavy drinker. She's hands down the coolest woman you wish you knew. She sassed Mustang when he barged in, and admited to drinking with Mr Ho. Do NOT mess with Pinako.

There are plenty of feel-good moments like this to balance out all the despair. This show is a full-on _ride_ .
