Hello, I live in Canada and the basement in my house is wet and moldy and during the summertime, my basement smells musty, thus I would be interested to organize some kind of ventilation using such a heat recovery unit. I am just wondering if these systems available to be purchased in Canada?

A simple extractor fan would initially help massively, constantly running on trickle - buy branded for quality. Should lower RH very quickly. A LOT cheaper as well

I don't understand how this recovers heat...it just looks like it vents it in.

I read the instructions and it says that it flipps the fan direction every few minutes. So first it sucks the air out and then pulls new air in.

@@Chupria well last time i saw one of these maybe diferent company, it does suck and blow, but the air inside tube is preheated by air going out inside many tubes, some go out some go in. Than it takes air inside its blowing not cold, but preheated. Unless its wromg type. The one i saw is called mini recuperator it looks same

HRU-WALL does not recovers heat. it just sucks out warm air and blows in cold air. HRU-WALL needs to be banned.
