This sounds like so many pop R'n'B songs that were in the charts between 2003 and 2005 (think Christina Milian or Mariah Carey in her 'Emancipation of Mimi' era). Whether that makes it retro or just very dated is a question only the scholars in the Oxford Philosophy Department can answer - who will doubtlessly be watching.
Surely if they were _trying_ to win, they wouldn't have shopped a song for Silia that was already rejected by other broadcasters.

I am glad they don't give space to Luxembourg here. To me personally, the song itself is objectively not that bad, but Tali dedicated the song "to her brother who is in IDF" means she dedicated it to the country which is committing war crimes.

Andrew was one of my favorite songs from last year and I still listen to it. I didn't love this one, but I thought it was okay. This just seemed like a throw away pop song you'd hear on the radio.

This is a classic song that I will rank low because of lack of depth and originality but can be a deserved Q because she'll eat on stage and it's a serviceable enough song to be a vehicle for that.
Silia is a total triple threat! The reason she was walking a lot in the video (I feel) is she’s teasing us, and she’s gonna bring it with power on the night and unleash the dancer within 😂 have high hopes for this, but then Greece release their song last night, and it’s good! Like really good! So happy my country is back on form after last year!

This song should have remained in the drawing board because it is not good at all.
It wasn't "supposed" to be Greece's song, but it was on the shortlist in the internal selection. The writers shopped it around to Cyprus I guess.

Wait till you hear Greece. It's not what you're expecting (but it's brilliant).
I commented about this in the original video and I will comment this again. Even how many times I hear this song, I cannot remember the beat and rhythm AT ALL. I don't remember the lyrics at all and this is AFTER IMMEDIATELY LISTENING TO IT. It is too generic. Compare that to Greece which immediately grabs you whether you like it or hate it.
Also, thank you for explaining why you don't want to review Luxembourg.

It's just a shame cause this was supposed to be the greek entry last year and in 2023 it would've made top 5 but this year the competition is SO STRONG that it might not even qualify... That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it tho

@@Dashew of course! There is more to this story though, and a lot of further speculation and rumours surrounding Israel's involvement in Luxembourg's entry this year. For us at least, we felt uncomfortable when Tali dedicated her national final win to her brother who is currently serving in the IDF. With a song called "Fighter" and lyrics about going forth and "conquering" it's easy to see why people are questioning Luxembourg's entry this year. There are further rumours and allegations less easy to verify, but this dedication creates a context for the song that we feel may be breaking the rules of the competition. So we've decided not to react to the song for now.
@@Novympia Thanks for the explanation! In all likelihood her brother doesn't have a say in whether he is in the IDF or not, since IDF is compulsory in Israel. I'll try to look up the other allegations.
A song with these lyrics does not need to be dedicated to him however. At best, Tali is ignorant and naive in this situation, at worst she's complicit to something larger. It's a messy situation that's created a large amount of hysteria online and so for now we'd rather not cover Luxembourg on our channel.
This is probably the first entry this year I really like. Her outfit is on point. She's what I expect from a pop diva.
This one is just so basic that I feel like there's nothing to latch onto. It's a typical Cyprus girlbop that's been watered down to the point there's no personality left. I've loved most of Cyprus' recent stuff, so I'm not trying to be snooty or anything about this, but it's just a shiny pile of nothing.
I've found this really hard to get into, it's so generic and not special. It started out around 20th but kept dropping because I kept not being able to remember the melody. It is currently second last for me

KONTOPOULOS who Is the composer of the song was convicted for plagiarism in 2023 by the Greek Supreme Court. Furthermore, his song (LIAR) was rejected by Greece in 2023 and by Russia in 2021 so it is a HARD NO from EUROPE ... and 0 POINTS to CYPRUS!👎👎

What do Novympia think of Israel being included despite committing genocide. 25,000 deaths and making Gaza the most dangerous place in the world for children. Surely this shouldn't be ignored, Russia was banned for Ukrainian genocide. Do Eurovision only care when white Europeans are being butchered?
This is too important to be ignored, I enjoy Eurovision but this issue really has spoiled the whole thing for many of us.
