Just Sing.
Any Josie and the pussycats songs
I like The Archies and Josie and the pussycats.
My favorite fictional song is Glory of love, by Peter Catera. Karate Kid 2.
I bought the soundtrack to That Thing You Do because of that song. I really like that entire soundtrack. But that song is the best 'fake movie' song I've heard in a long time.
I cannot believe that the Hex Girls did not make an appearance on this list. Such an iconic song.
That was my jam!
No hex girls? truly a tragedy.
Scooby dooby doo, where are you? why isn't Hex Girls here.
They're a real band
@@sam_bagging6028 they are?! awsome!
"That thing You do" is my favourite fake movie song. I wish The Wonders was true band so I can see them live.
It really sounds like a 60s pop song.
You mean the O’Needers ?
Hehehehe
@@Leftists_are_Losers yes 😂
More than just an 'honourable mention'!!!
Definitely needs to be more than an honorable mention!
I wanted to see at least an honorable mention for “Super Nova Girl” from Zenon! 😂
Zoom zoom zoom!
Yes!!!!!!
So glad it was mentioned, came here to say this!! Haha
Came to see it as well
Honestly the entire Josie & the Pussycats album (including the DuJour) songs is one of my favorites! I can listen to the whole thing straight through. Very infectious.
I never knew “Scotty Doesn’t Know” wasn’t a real song until this very moment 😂 I grew up listening to it like it was a real ass song 😢
Same 😂
It’s on my playlist!! lol
Love that song and movie. Watched it at least a dozen times lol
seems like... @roxyortiz8819 doesn't know
It`s real song from band "Lustra"
You forgot these great ones:
Christmas is all around - from Love Actually
Big Bottom- Spinal Tap
I want to grow old with you- The Weeding Singer
School of Rock - School of Rock
Absolutely for School of Rock "ooh ooh Sha la la" and the ad-libs were awesome!!
While I totally love Love, Actually, I don't really think Xmas Is All Around Us qualifies, since it's just a lyrics swap.
I want to grow old with you is amazing, and the ones from school of rock, too
Hell Hole Spinal Tap
I Love want to grow old with you butthe other original from that movie: somebody kill me always manages to cheer me up when I am down.
I immediately thought of "Sheet of Egyptian Cotton" from Uptown Girls.....those na na nas are always in my head.
"Molly smiles" is nice too
@@RoPiDe when I saw the title of this video I automatically thought "Molly Smiles" was going to be #1! I can't believe it's not on here at all! That song is so beautiful
Scooby Doo and the Witches Ghost - -HEX GIRLS! - “earth, wind, fire and air”
Belle - BELLE- “U”
Jennifer’s Body - LOW SHOULDER- “through the trees”
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - THE WEIRD SISTERS “do the hippogriff”
"That Thing You Do" is hands down the best fake song from a movie, alongside anything by Josie and the Pussycats - both films deserve so much more love 💕
I completely agree!
Yup. I was like "Honorable Mention my ass"
Both songs were actually written by the same guy!: Adam Schlesinger
Lies again? Does this mean these fake songs were not official soundtracks?
Adam also wrote the Hugh Grant song Pop Goes my Heart
"Pop! Goes My Heart" is just an honorable mention? Travesty! Come on, it's perfection. Definitely deserved to be in the Top 10 (with a mention of the terrific "Way Back into Love"). Also, where is the Oscar-winning "Falling Slowly?" It's stunning and should have made the list.
I wholeheartedly agree. All of the songs in that movie were gold. I even liked the Kora songs lol
Agree. "Pop! There Goes My Heart", "That Thing You Do" and "Pretend to be Nice" are the top three. Those the only ones that like actual real world #1 singles.
How “That Thing You Do” was just an honorable mention also baffles me. And how was The Diva Dance not mentioned at all? Crazy.
Definitely shoupdve been #1 on this and I stand 10 toes down on that one
Needed to be number 1!
I really thought Eddie and the Cruisers "Dark Side" would have made this list. It has become so low-key popular that I hear it on the classic rock radio and love it!
I prefer Tender Years but On the Dark Side is great too
Anything from that soundtrack- were great!
Although that song was probably found in a song collection and added to the movie, Mr. Par'e's lip sync performance was worthy of "fake" respect.
Yep. HUGE oversight.
A Star is Born has been made FOUR times (5 if you count the TV adaptation). The original with Janet Gaynor and Frederick March in 1937, the 1954 remake with Judy Garland and James Mason, the 1976 version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, and the 2018 film with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. The TV adaptation aired in 1951 and starred Kathleen Crowley and Conrad Nagel.
@ladycatsinger:they might not be counting the tv series adaptions for it though since they said it was the third remake of the 1937 one so they could just be going based off for movie adaptions for it.
@ladycatsinger:they could easily just be going based off actual remakes of the 1937 movie since the original one isn’t a remake since it’s an original one the only remakes would be the 1954 one, 1976 one and the 2018 one for movies making the 2018 movie the third movie remake of the original 1937 movie. Since they most likely wouldn’t be counting tv series ones also it would be three because the original one doesn’t count as a remake
@ladycatsinger:also it would be just 3 movie remakes if they are counting just for movie remakes and not the total number of remakes overall since the tv series one only counts as 4 remakes since the original one isn’t a remake. And out of those remakes there’s only 3 remakes for movies
@ladycatsinger:the video is taking about how many remakes the original movie has which is 3 remakes for movies and not how many times overall the storyline has remade. Since the tv series would be a separate from the movies as a remake
@ladycatsingr:they are most likely saying how many times it’s been remade as a movie which would only be 3 times
Take Me Away from Freaky Friday isn't a fake song written for the movie, it's a cover from an Australian pop/rock girl group, called Lash.
Came here to say this ❤
yep same here
😃
Heck yes... googling them now.
Thank you. I was so annoyed lol
the movie version is sm better tho
Josie and the Pussycats was ahead of its time - and criminally underrated - glad to see them rated so high on this list and kudos for also mentioning Du Jour. Such an amazing movie!
Josie and the Pussycats was one of my fave movies for so long. The first movie I ever owned on DVD when I got my first DVD player.
Dujour is hilarious. Especially "Back Door Lover"
Literally every song in that movie. Du Jour is phenomenal. Agreed, JatP is a criminally underrated movie. All of the product placement was done without approval of the companies. It wasn't sponsored!
When JatP came out, I spent frustrating weeks trying to get people I knew to see it. "No, really, it's actually very good!" No dice.
Du Jour means family!
@@sarahs7623 I swear I still say this about once a week. Nobody understands.
I love "Can't Fight the Moonlight" by LeAnn Rimes in Coyote Ugly. And "Through the Trees" by Low Shoulder in Jennifer's Body 😊
Cant fight the moonlight is a real song that Leeanne Rimes releasing in real life.. It was just the theme song for the movie
Ya they played that on the radio... Alot
Can't Fight the Moonlight is a real song sung by a real artist released in the real world 💯
omg yes low shoulder my beloved little emo satanists!!!!! 😂😂😂
Can't fight the moonlight is on Spotify
My Hometown from EuroVision was the first song that popped into my mind when the list was announced. I’m sad it didn’t make the official list but was delighted to see Stand Out from A Goofy Movie! Great list
"That Thing You Do" should have been more than an honorable mention!
Ikr!???
Having "That Thing You Do" and "Pop Goes My Heart" as honorable mentions is an absolute travesty.
No kidding. That Thing You Do would’ve for sure been a hit in the 1960s.
Pop Goes My Heart is a masterpiece
*That’s what I thought!!!*
She did it to stir the pot. Gets more YT interactions that way. Like a CZcams math problem with a wrong answer...people are more likely to interact when it's wrong, than if the math is right.
Thank you for saving me from watching the video. I wouldn't want to give the channel to views if they're so stupid they don't realize those should be competing for first place and second.
I chuckled at Scotty Doesn't Know because last weekend I went to a concert and between sets they played it on the speakers. 😂
The lack of Spinal Tap broke my heart
"No one knows who they were, or... what they were doing,
But their legacy remains

@@erilaz7 these go to 11... bahahahahaha
How in the world is School of Rock not in here? 😒🙄
Right?
No vacancy!
You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core! Lmao. Love that movie. Or even Pick of destiny should've been on here.
I know right?
oh wtf. they really missed the ball with this one
“That Thing You Do” and “Way Back Into Love” from Music & Lyrics should’ve been 1 and 2. They defined each movie and are extremely catchy. Perfectly represented the eras of the movies.
Both were written by the same person! Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne!
Who passed away a few years ago from Covid 😢
@@TohmLev Yeah. A tragic loss :(
I agree, also where are School of Rock songs?
Exactly.
That Thing You Do deserves to be on the actual list way more than half of the top-10. Somebody Kill Me from Wedding Singer should’ve at least been an honorable mention.
I love all of the songs Keira Knightley sings in Begin again, I feel like it deserved at least an honorable mention?
how did the main song from School of Rock not make it!? That song is ICONIC! Easily would be my #1 on this list
Came here to say this! I mean.. not even an honorable mention??? Ridiculous.
Im glad I'm not the only one who thinks this list is sh!+
Are you talking about “It’s a Long Way To the Top” or “Teacher’s Pet”? The first one is an actual song by AC/DC.
@@jonsalgado585 they said "main song". The ACDC song was not the main song
@@The.Office.Alliance.dude a lot of the songs on this list weren’t written for their movies. “Main song” can be intrupted in a lot of ways main song can also mean the first song you think of after watching a movie. Like never enough by Loren wasn’t written for the greatest showman and would be the first song people would think of, take me away is by the Australian girl lash and wasn’t written for freaky Friday,Scotty doesn’t know is a real song by the band lustra and was also probably not written for it’s movie. Since alot of the songs are cover songs from movies that have fake bands singing the songs in the movies but the song itself existed long before the movies came out.
Fifth element- the Diva song! I always have chills💙
I love that song.
Good one!
Thank you! I came here to look for this comment & if it wasn't here, I'd flip lol
Dewey Cox sitting in the background like, "Am I a joke to you?"
It's not a movie, but I've been obsessed with the entire Aurora album from Daisy Jones and the Six since it came out.
Same here
yup
At least 3 of the songs in this list (That Thing You Do and the Josie&tP and Music and Lyrics songs) were by Adam Schlesinger, who was in the band Fountains of Wayne and wrote many of the songs in the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He died of Covid in April 2020, and more people should know just how brilliant he was.
I've had Josie & P soundtrack on cd forever, the whole thing is great!
The actresses did back up vocals and Josie's part was done by the lead singer from the band "Letters to Cleo"
That explains why the musicality and style of That Thing You Do is so close to Stacy's Mom... Both songs I love.
@@JD86Vintage yeah and that's probably partly bc there's common cords to pop music, I know, but he also just knew different genres back to front. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's music really shows off how incredible his range is
Really? Thanks for posting this! I had no idea!
Thanks for posting. What a brilliant creative force. And what a loss. So sorry for his family and friends. He’s left a beautiful legacy to us all.
The fact that 'That Thing You Do!' only got an honorable mention when it was the impetus for the entire movie AND was played multiple times in the movie is criminal!
CRIMINAL!!!!!
especially since it was one of the few songs in this video that made it onto the Billboard Top 100.
Severely! That shouldn't just be an honorable mention!
Fever Dog was written by Nancy Wilson and Peter Frampton. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam played lead guitar. Marti Frederikson provided vocals
I absolutely love movie soundtracks of so-called fake song hits . I own a vast collection of movie soundtracks on CD ( no download BS for me because I need the hard copies in my hand), & there's so many that you're showing that I already own the soundtracks of, & then there are ones that I haven't seen or heard of before but soon will own, so Thank you for this video/music clip because you've just help increase my music collection!! ❤💯
The way I just screamed‼️ “Pretend to be nice” and “3 small words” from Josie and the Pussycats are literally on my playlist 😂❤
SAME!! I listen to the whole album all the time!! Including DuJour 😂😂
Don't forget "BackdoorLover" by Du Jour...
@@caronstout354 adding now
LONG TAILS AND EARS FOR HATS!! 😻😺😻
I love the whole soundtrack!!!!
It may be a totally different genre, but “Man of Constant Sorrow” from O Brother, Where Art Thou? is actually just an amazing song. Same goes for Falling Slowly from Once.
Constant sorrow is a very old song, though, not created for a movie
I think that was a cover, many of the songs in the film were
Falling Slowly even won an Oscar
I think people forget Falling Slowly want a song before Once. It's so iconic now.
Man of Constant Sorrow is a traditional folk song, not an original.
I liked "I Love You All" from the movie "Frank". It was especially impressive because the actors actually performed the song. They even played it live on TV while promoting the film.
I keep getting back to those Songs as well. Not even a mention😮
I want to hear ja ja ding dong again after hearing this list. EuroVision had some many great songs, I had to buy the soundtrack. Popstar soundtrack works as an additional Lonely Island album. Thanks for the list. Reminded me of some great songs both on and off the list!
I like “Stand Out” but “Eye to Eye" was probably better in my opinion.
THANK YOU!!!
I was literally about to comment that
Came here to say the same thing
Agreed!
I agree eye to eye was better
I think that's abundantly obvious!!
Anyone else have no clue Haley Duff sang Isabella’s part in Lizzie? Mind blown. At 30, I can still proudly sing every single word.
What??? Everybody knows It... Even my Indian ass from India knows it when it first came out 😂
My name is also Carly and I'm 33 and had NO IDEA! I have to re watch it again 😍
I found out like over a year ago & i'm about to be 33🤯
The fact That Thing you Do is an honorable mention completely invalidates this list
Anything from Music and Lyrics should have been #1
How was "That Thing You Do" only an honorable mention?!? That entire soundtrack was fantastic!
Pop goes my heart should have gotten more than just an honorable mention 🤩💖 same goes for Husavik (it’s breathtaking)
Agreed! All of the songs from Music and Lyrics are hilarious!!
Absolutely on both counts
I actually prefer Way Back Into love... without the sticky and steamy indian intro obviously 😅 But Don't Write me Off Yet is really cute...
But then there's come dance with me tonight and of course, welcome to booty town 😂
So actually the whole soundtrack is pretty good.
@@JD86Vintage not to forget the first try of recording way back into love 😉 „this song is intended for human ears“ 🤣
@@JD86Vintagecompletely agree!! The music is all so good in that movie!!
I cannot believe “That Thing You Do” was just an honorable mention 😮
Literally number one
There were so many good songs in that movie, and the movie itself is on my top 10.
@@FantasyremixI actually said to myself while watching that if it wasn’t number one I’d riot. So now I riot.
I think they did an honorable mention for it just so they wouldn’t do have anymore songs with numbers and explanations in the video
Same
“Nobody like you” from turning red is such a bop! 😂😂
Great... and nice job.
How did super nova girl from Zenon not make the list, or even a mention?!?!
I was looking for this comment! I loved that movie so much!
Right?! That song is my jam to this day lol
Came to the comments to say this! I literally listen to supernova girl on the regular, lol.
Proto Zoa!
My Thoughts EXACTLY!!
I can't believe there were no songs from This Is Spinal Tap or A Mighty Wind or The Ruttles! Almost every song in those three movies deserves to be on this list!
Big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
This. Yes! This is the worst video of "Top 10" fake movie songs since it doesn't include Spinal Tap at all, and somehow Freaky Friday and Lizzie McGuire were on the list and That Thing You Do was only an honorable mention.
What about OH Brother where art thou?
@@JohnCalk True!
You forgot one of the most iconic 80s ones. "St. Elmo's Fire" from St. Elmo's Fire sung in the movie by John Parr. The song was such a hit because of the movie that it went to #1 on US Billboard charts.
Songs that were in movies aren't the same as "fake songs"
"Someone's watching over me" from raise ur voice! I LOVED that song & the movie meaning behind it.
“Take Me Away” was actually a song released two years before Freaky Friday by an Australian band, Lash.
So as an Aussie, when I first saw that scene, I thought “Hey, I know this song!”
Was about to write this too.
see how bad they do their research?
@@saemikneu meh, a band that released one album over 7 years and split nearly 20 years ago is hardly relevant enough to be so dramatic about. If you do 90% of your work correct, then 10% incorrect, are you a compete idiot? The people coming for you would be that over nothing. It took me 3 links from the soundtrack to find it out, so not difficult, but also not as obvious as any musician would make it. They were incorrect but you are a little too dramatic, they're still doing better than you just because they don't know who a defunct band is.
was just about to put 'im pretty sure the freaky Friday song is a cover of a real song' and at least 2 people beat me to it
Then it’s disqualified
The thing that makes That Thing You Do so genius is how,in addition to being extremely catchy,it perfectly replicates the syle of The Beatles' early days. I could totally have believed that they'd written it.
The entire soundtrack to "Josie and the Pussycats" is absolutely legendary.
Husavik always moves me to tears. It's such a beautiful piece.
Other honorable mentions
"The Zing Song" - "Hotel Transylvania" (2012)
"BBC" - "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" (1997)
"Good Tonight" - "The Bad Guys" (2022)
"Peaches" - "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (2023)
"Everything is Awesome" - "The LEGO Movie" Franchise (2014-)
"Who is Your Favorite Fearless Hero?" - "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" (2022)
"Nobody Like U" - "Turning Red" (2022)
Yes!!!
peaches is my ringtone 😂
I think though those don’t count as ‘fake songs’, they are just songs played during the films.
MISSUS.... WILL YA.....
@@johnbiggscr Everything is Awesome I think could count, because it's heard on the radio in the movie.
The whole Eurovision Song Contest: The Fire Sage Story soundtrack should have made the list !
PLAY JAJA DING DONG!!!!

Lion of Love could easily win most years
Ja ja ding dong
This!
So good!
These are good! I also enjoy the 4 Town songs from Turning Red (it is so weird hearing them when I go do groceries, like they play one of them on the radio regularly).
How can Eddie and the Cruisers not make the list? On the Dark Side was a huge hit and the entire album is gold.
Agreed I burned out three cassets
Absolutely agree!!! I adore Eddie & the Cruisers and both soundtracks are 🔥. I actually listen to them on the daily.
Agreed. It was the first one I thought of.
I was thinking the same thing.
💯💯could not agree more!!!
"That Thing You Do" was robbed from being included. Brilliant song.
I love it 🥰. Good & Silver
Hey Now is truly the biggest song of my childhood followed closely by all the Disney Channel stars singing A Dream is a Wish
That Thing You Do should’ve been number 1. That entire album is perfection
So many good songs and just a perfect movie!
Husavik is SO underrated. It's such a beautiful song. Gives me goosebumps every time ❤
Yes, i heard not so great things about that movie before watching it but the song at the end actually makes it for me. A song that somehow makes me weirdly nostalgic and homesick for a place I have never lived 😂
So happy sing street made the list… time to go watch that absolute masterpiece of a movie again!!!
Pop goes my heart is my jam. I literally downloaded it. Saved it to my fave.
Husavik deserves more than an honorable mention. Guarantee it's only there because of Will Ferrell, but the song is actually well composed and Molly Sanden has a phenomenal voice.
An actual good use of the honorable mention would have been for the Dracula musical song from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
As a huge Eurovision fan I totally agree, I personally think it would have done really well at the actual Eurovision (if it was under 3 minutes).
Please do a second list! This is fun 😁 Thanks!
1. "Sugarhigh" from Empire Records.
2. "Come On" from 10 Things I Hate About You😊
3. "U + Me = Us" from MTV mock show 2gether
4. "Let's Go to the Mall" from How I Met Your Mother
Love “Sugar High”!
Scrolled through the comments to find a "Sugar High" reference. Damn the man!
LET's GO the the Mall EVERYBODY!!!
I was waiting for Empire Records!
focus word: movie. How would they be in a part 2? They would be in a different video.
My two favorites are "sugar high" from empire records and "degenerated" from airheads, both are covers but are done awesome.
"in my hometown" literally made me cry the first time i heard it, and again when you played a clip from it
Another contender: "Forgettful Lucy" from 50 First Dates. Adam Sandler's improv, singing, and rom com roles are highly underrated.
Also, "Never Enough" from "Greatest Showman"
Haha I actually had “Grow Old With You” from The Wedding Singer in my head during this whole video. He definitely deserves an honorable mention somewhere!
Not sure 'Greatest Showman' counts - it's a musical, so none of the songs are fake!
@@MsSteelphoenix But it's also the only song in the movie that is preformed as a song within the movie. You know? All of the other songs happen where dialogue could have worked just as well, but she performs that song on stage. It's a song in the movie, as well as in the musical medium.
@@IzzyKawaiichi I think this is another example of why they need to better define what they mean by "fake songs." Like "Backdoor Lover" and "Pretend to be Nice" from Josie and the Pussycats are treated like huge pop hits within the world of the movie but were not released as actual "radio play" singles in the real world. That tracks for me as a "fake song." But songs from musicals don't feel the same for me in that the songs are the point of the entire show/movie. Like not a single song here from a Disney musical, right? I realize that "Shallow" kind of fits my former definition, however given that it was intended to be released as a single from the jump (and was, and did well) that moves it out of "fake song" territory for me.
@@IzzyKawaiichi the concept of the video is songs that are not real songs, not original movie soundtracks, you are misinterpreting it, greatest showman songs were released, it is the same as choosing let it go, that would be just as dumb.
There's no way "That Thing You Do" shouldn't be in the top 3 on this list.🤘
Totally down with everyone else with That Thing you Do... But also Pitch Perfect 3, Evermoist: How a Heart Breaks! 💜
Bro my sister introduced me to Scotty Doesn't Know, now I'm IN LOVEEE
I can't believe Scotty Doesn't Know is only #10! Easily one of my favorite songs, not just favorite fake song.
On a side note, there is a good one you missed from a somewhat obscure movie called Adam & Steve. The song comes up near the end called "Sh!t Happens", which is basically a country line dance sung by a drag queen about one of the main plot points of the story.
Another great missed one id from the Eddie & The Cruisers movie, called On The Dark Side.
true
Aslong as the drag queen is there to be made into a joke and as a way to ridicule the LGBTQ cult and not a way to indoctrinate children with the woke agenda.
* screaming* HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!!! *cries *
My all time favourite song from any film or series ever is from a swedish movie called Livet Enligt Rosa (Life According to Rosa) that's called "To Win My Love" and it's sung by Anna Maria Espinosa. Great film, great song.
"That Thing You Do" was so well done that when the movie came out I went to the CD department to get the soundtrack and was looking under the "W" section for the Wonders because they seemed like a real band. Great movie and soundtrack. Sing Street is great too.
The songs from Music and Lyrics are FIRE. Pure 80s flashback genius.
Backdoor lover 😅 oh jeez 😂 even as a teen I laughed my ass off of that line...
Rachel said in an interview that she, Tara and Rosario actually learned the instruments, sang and played the 3 songs in the movie. FWIW.
Songs from "This is Spinal Tap" and "A Mighty Wind" should have at least gotten an honorable mention.
Everything from Spinal Tap is classic

This Is Spinal Tap was the first thought I had - glad I wasn’t the first!
it gives me the impression they are planning a part 2 and already have them aside but people usually refuse to understand common sense and rush to feeling superior with passive agression.
"Scotty Doesn't Know" is just the start of the wonderfully fun film that is "Eurotrip." It's got a ton of hilarious moments. People are missing out by not watching it.
Whoop that trick get em! That thing you do. Music and lyrics. Eye to eye.
No School Of Rock, Lemonade Mouth or Pixel Perfect 😔
I think Disney channel songs are real
I agree that Lemonade Mouth should have been on the List!
I’m pretty sure “Ultraviolet” was created for Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, and if so that song should be on this list. I also saw someone else in the comments say “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” from Coyote Ugly, and I wholeheartedly agree with that, too.
I said Ultraviolet too
I was looking for that one
That song has been around before that movie. Singer Joanna Pacitti sang it on Amanda Byne's sitcom What I Like About You.
Can't Fight the Moonlight is Piper Perabo lip syncing to LeAnn Rimes though
I really like your list. How could you miss the iconic Spinal Tap?
The 2009 movie Bandslam had some fun songs too. Some fresh covers and some originals. “Pretend” and “Someone to Fall Back On” from that movie is a good one.
Music & Lyrics is a great movie! Loved the music from that too, but LOVED Way back into love, especially the performance of it at the end of the movie.
yes! Love it! That is one of my favorite movies -- so many funny lines and great songs.
Yes Way Back Into Love would have been a mega hit
Way Back into Love is a great made for movie song.
The sexy Buddha version is hilarious! 😂
@@DodonaWind it definitely gave Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera spoof vibes for sure. Lol
"That Thing You Do" should've been in the top 10. Other than that, good list!
yeah I feel like that should have been more than an honorable mention. That was the first one I thought of lol
@@cuttlefishagain me too
Agreed! And “Stand Out” should have been higher!
The song Scotty Doesn't Know, was written and performed by the American rock band Lustra in 2004. The song was written for the movie, but was later included on the full length lp Left For Dead.
I love the songs from the main band in Rock Star, I forget the band name but it's honestly so good haha!
I'm sorry, how are we defining "fake songs" here? "Shallow" was a real hit. It was nominated for an Oscar for "Best Song." It spent almost a full year on the Billboard Hot 100 chart! It's a brilliant song and both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper give a jaw-dropping performance on that track. It's as real as it gets so having it be #1 on this list feels.....dumb?
Also: every song in "Josie and the Pussycats" is a banger.
I think they mean original songs. Made FOR the movies
@@LaynaCastro maybe so! But my point stands - it's not clear so here we all are down in the comments trying to parse why this song was on the list but not that one. It would just be helpful if they would clearly define what criteria they are using when they establish their lists.
Or maybe they don't want to because it keeps us all doing exactly what we're doing - chatting in the comments trying to guess what they mean LOL. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think a "fake song" is an original song produced for a movie, and performed by a fake band in the movie.
How did that thing you do only get an honorable mention. It actually hit the charts.
Walk Hard : The Dewey Cox Story had amazing songs, should have definitely been on the list.
"Friends" from a movie band Dragon Sound 🤘catchy and sweet
Pop Goes My Heart is the best. I still laugh over the time my friends and I went to a restaurant after we saw the movie and we stood in the parking lot doing the dance before we went in…and didn’t notice that we were in front of the restaurant’s windows full of diners staring at us. We didn’t even care - we just laughed harder. I love that movie and video!
Oh: “On the Dark Side” from Eddie and the Cruisers was pretty great too.
While it may not be as well known, I love "Falling Slowly" from "Once." (Unless Glen Hansford & Marketa Inglova, or the Frames recorded it first, before it was used in the movie). It's a beautiful song with a lovely harmony.
100% agree. It should've been on the list!
One of the best movies I've ever seen - hands down. All of the songs are incredible. It's Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - I'm thinking this was a voice to text post. 🙂
@@Speed-Of-Light-By-Meter LOL thank you for the corrections. Not voice-to-text, probably just a tired mind, not great memory and possibly just crap at typing! 😁
@@GoddessPallasAthena I totally understand all of those scenarios. 🙂
Yes!!
Garrett Hedlund’s song “Chances Are” from the movie Country Strong is good enough to play on country radio, and I’m still mad it isn’t on Spotify.
“Kick it Into Gear” from “The Country Bears”! That song slaps even to this day. Such an underrated movie.
I think That Thing You Do should have been the top choice. It would have definitely been a MASSIVE hit if it had been released in the 1960s.
