“Do I love Life .... every part of Life?...” Honestly.... NO! I don’t recall ever asking this question when I was younger. Now at 63, it resonates in me daily. But I’m learning to be with sickness, with no relationship, no money, etc. .... no matter what it is. Learning to be with things instead of running away. Difficult to do? Not really ... I just “think” to much. Having no money is easy. Thinking about it is the hard part. ..... Sadhu 3X!

Whenever I get sick or sustain an injury from physical exertion, I give it loving kindness. A tennis knee injury that I’ve had for many years ... gone! Blood pressure too high ?? ... rather than taking medication, I talk to my body with loving kindness, tell it how sorry I am for running it ragged, give my body a massage, listen to the sounds it gives off, feel every bit of sensation it radiates. When I breath, I imagine filling my lunges with healthy artery-opening oxygen. I say things like ... “may my blood be enriched with this life giving breath, may it fill my brain and opening up any clogged arteries.”

I really enjoyed this. I've dealt with troubled times for the last 4 years, previously I thought life was great and I am young and healthy. Now I've lost the person that I loved the most, to cancer, and I'm not as healthy because of stress. I like his way of inviting the monster in, I think it is the best way to go. Also his opinion on euthanasia really hits the right mark for me.

I remember listening to one of Ajahn Brahm's talks. He spoke about death and recalled going with his father as a young man to some exhibition or fair, and they just had such a wonderful day he wished it never ended. But as his father was passing away, he remembered that day, and thought about time, and letting things and people go, as that wonderful day couldn't have gone on forever, time passes and gives way to new things. Can anyone help me locate that talk? Thanks

AB 🙏😊 But there's a whole range of emotions in humans. And if you're going to mention "love" then it's counter part must also be given equanimity of expression: "hate". Or Joy & Disappointment if you prefer. Balance.

I like the climate change question but the answer is “be the change you want to be in the world.” Meaning you can’t do shit about it, so either stop complaining or shut up and do something lol. I guess that’s as good as it gets! Our children will suffer but we just have to tell them the same thing. Shut up and accept it or stop buying big houses 😂
