    Hymns are the faith we profess as those have placed our faith in Jesu, the lover of our soul. This world is NOT our home and coming soon, Jesu shall return to take us away from this sin-stricken evil world. My Dear brothers and sisters, let us hold on to our faith and not allow ourselves to tinted with such vices going on everywhere even in the churches where some Pastors turn a blind eye to these things or even twist scripture to support it. May Jesu bless us all.

      What is so awesome about this, is that we, as Blood-washed Christians, will get to meet him. I’m currently working on this song with both my Bb & C trumpets. Thank you to Charles Wesley and the Welsh composer Robert Williams, for this hymn!!

    There are hymns that just move me to tears, but there are many that sound so much like a funeral dirge that I can't hear the joy of praise. If my son can come closer to Christ through a Christian rap song than an old hymn then PRAISE GOD for that rap song. I prefer berry flavors over citrus but that doesn't make citrus bad or wrong. If you prefer older hymns over the modern versions that doesn't make them bad or wrong. Its a matter of preference. The key to worship is where your heart is.

    • @ElizabethStaeheli
      @ElizabethStaeheli Před 2 měsíci

      Are you sure of that? Rap can take the heart slowly away from the truth. Music is powerful on its own. We must watch our children closely and be aware that the music of the world is a Pied Piper, even if it dresses up in Christian garb.

    I totally agree. The church is gradually slipping away from the hymn that anchored the Chritian faith. Now, the church has killed the ORGAN, and introuduce drums, chorus music that sounds like 'night club' beats and popular worldly music. God help us, we have become the Laodicea church when John wrote about in the book of Revelation. Apostasy has set into the church and is choking the spiritual life out of her. Jesus come quickly!!!! Come...heavenly dove with all they quickening power.

    yes rodney. I am like you. I moved from one church to the other because the awful modern hymns that we were made to sing. I am a musician (violinist) but i didn't realize it then, i was barely familiar with the old hymns. When i was re-introduced to the old hymns, it was such an emotional moment for me that i had tears in my eyes. For all intents and purposes, it was a religious experience.

    Please quote the scripture. What about "Husbands love your wives"? What about the scripture allowing runaway slaves to stay free, or the admonition for masters to treat their servants with respect? As for the earth, what about figurative language in poetry? Why can't we speak of the sun arising and going down in the heavens and still understand that scientifically it is the earth that revolves? People have used scripture to justify many things by not grasping the character of Him who wrote it.

    Science DOES change, as new insight is attained. It is, by its very nature, always in flux. It attempts to explain our universe, but it cannot fully explain "us", as there is more to humanness than the dry facts which science measures and quantifies. Myth, art, hope, self sacrifice, beauty, music, etc., make us human too, and religions touch on all of these. Religions have no monopoly on lying or profiteering, nor have they a monopoly on arrogance and stupidity. Your comments attest to that.
