*Approach 1*
1.Focous on finishing syllabus till sept mid or sept end.
Syllabus means :
Theory part
Solved example, pyqs,
solve questions topicwise in which you are not confident .
Notes making
Major notes- make during lecture
Short notes- for revision, much important
2.Quick Revision:
Cyclic revision - revise everyday with short notes complete year
3. In October
Major revision -take time, think about formula and derivations that do you know everything about this if not, read derivations that how did it come.
If you have time,solve question bank
4. From November
Solve numerical as much, learn from mistakes
*Approach 2:*
One major change:
you will solve question bank or test series in parallel till Nov . Your syllabus will complete late by the end of oct or nov but you will do better and you will have 2 months time for full length test.
Approach 2 is hectic so it's not advisable for working person .
Don't waste time to read irrelevant topics.

I started preparing for gate from beginning of 3rd year
I got 421 rank and cracked multiple psu's like ntpc,npcil,nalco,dvc,nhpc and finally chosen ntpc.

@ExergicGATE Hello sir actually I'm in 1st year ME. And I am a student who does up down from one city to another, it generally waste 4 hrs of my day and at home I have to study my college exams also. So I can only manage my sleep to get 2hrs for gate preparation. So in 2 hrs can I do what you are saying and if not please explain me please sir.

Well it depends upon how relevant the question is. If irrelevant, skip it. But if it is something relevant, you can spend 10-15 mins for such selected questions.

Sir my query is different, as my son is in 4th year of mechanical engineering. And just 6 months left. He is intelligent, but like other children, he too got distracted by online games and webseries. He's not serious about his gate prepration. I watched your' best sequence.. video and shared to him, and asked to plan his study accordingly.. but he's not serious at all. I don't know how to motivate him for study
Make him cut off from distractions, keep an eye on him..

Yes it can be difficult to control distractions and stay focused on your goal. You can talk to him in detail about it and make him realize the importance of this time. He can play Games and watch WebSeries his entire life after he gets a decent job.
