In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
"Why didn't you stop me you dick?" had me wheezing
Strange to assume it was cumulative though
It is a VERY good question...
The cry of many a Taskmaster contestant!
@@joshuataylor3550 well if it has to be one continuous slide, Hugh would have actually only slid like 10cm, as he always came to a complete stop between his tugs, separating his mini slides. I really love this series, but it grinds my gears that the precise definitions of the tasks often don't depend on the accurate definitions of the words that the definitions are made of or any scientific approach, but on one human being named taskmaster that changes definitions depending on how he feels like
Noel on high heels on that board is beautiful.
Noel is beautiful
I was expecting proper heels...
They are boots
He is a scaly man fish
I want a suit like Noel's 😂
My first thought was to get pulled by car while on a sled.
That would be a pull, not a slide. The sleeping bag effort should have been disqualified!
That's my take on it
3 top wasn't really a slide, I would say at least Mel and especially Lolly and Joe were entertaining.
You can do multiple things at once. She was sliding along the ground as they pulled her.
@@TigerEyeVA
It's still sliding in my opinion. I don't think it matters where the energy of the sliding comes from. If you make a slide, you get pulled down by gravity and you slide down. If you make a wet horizontal surface, you have to push yourself off the ground to make yourself slide. Even though she was being pulled, she was sliding over the floor. A sled also slides even though it's being pulled. As long as it isn't crawling, walking or rolling, it's sliding.
Hugh has definitely killed a man
and mel will too, maybe not intentionally.
Reminds me of Creed, but a smilier version
"Well, I'll just need... lots of knives..."
While filming this, or just generally?
@@Myzelfa both probably
They put in the most amount of effort and got the worst result 😂
sounds like a metaphor on life....
"Work smart not work hard"
Mel’s take on this task is excellent, but Joe and Lolly’s attempts make me laugh the hardest.
The editing in this show is brilliant
@@arb9010 it’s just a great show! I’m so mad I didn’t discover it sooner!
@@chayimweinstock443 i know, but editing is a big part of this show

"Action without friction" yet ironically she didnt move a muscle and had a ton of friction
"Action without friction" sounds like a slogan for lubricant ads
My pinky finger is the length of "a scaled model of the Titanic" as well.
@Yes Yes Niiice.
Mel had such wholesome energy here
She was like this the whole way through. My favourite time was when they took Alex’s shoes and socks and he said “my feet are cold” so she ran over and wrapped them. “He said his feet were cold!”
They made a compilation of Mel doing everything and still being cheerful
She is so amazingly lovely. Love the bits where she takes part.
"well over a metre" is the type of praise I deserve 👌
😂👍
As someone 1,5m, I'm going to use this next time someone leans down and goes "how short are you?"
1:48 “Butter?” “Butter.” A man of confidence.
Mad props to Noel for doing it in heels 😂😂
Its Noel, he always be doing it in heels ;p
Huh, Noel came perfectly dressed for a slip and slide and then he rode his board on high heels instead. Not where I saw this going 😆
This may be the perfectly assembled cast. You have your creative one who takes the task serious and finds clever ways to win, you have your young energetic personality who can get the audience to go wild simply by smiling at the camera, you have your naive one who constantly has the worst ideas but they give 100% anyway, your giddy older woman who is so positive about everything you can’t help but smile, and then to top it all off you have Noel Fielding. Perfect cast.
Under 'Clever ways to win' I would have expected someone to do the Electric Slide for 20 minutes and measure how far their body has moved while making each square of the dance.
E
After seeing him bonking his head while leaving the shed, Hugh is definitely related to a Stormtrooper.
And definitely not related to vader since vader’s head fazes through the tops of doorways.
undoubtedly the cutest series cast, theyre all so wholesome
i’d 100% agree if Acaster was in there
@@haysdixon6227 to be fair though, Hugh might as well be James’ dad being that they’re both Kettering lads
I had totally forgotten Mel's solution and I frigging love her.
Mel's got that *bosh* energy
It’s a friendly bosh energy
that shot of hugh sliding into the frame is just... brilliant.
Lolly giving herself a standing ovation after her own slide is the most amazing thing i’ve ever seen. Shes truly an icon in every way.
Every task being defeated by asking other people who are nice enough to help you is such an odd concept.
why?! work smart, not hard
For me if it's not against the rules then it's fine. They're all allowed to have someone help them just like how they could ask Alex as an extra hand or the staffs giving them props so it's fair and the idea came from the contestants themselves. It is just one way to solve the tasks.
It's a metaphor for the human need for cooperation
"Action without friction" will be my new catchphrase from now on XD
Perfect headline for a dating ad.
Mel would be the absolute best hype man/woman for anyone she is around. What a true delight of a human being.
I'm just now noticing that Noel wore HEELS FOR ALL THE TASKS
Lolly got a running start, just to stop right before the tarp 😂
One could argue that not every attempt was an actual slide.
"Definition: Slide = move smoothly along a surface while maintaining continuous contact with it."
I'd have to agree with you on at least Mel's attempt. It was more of her being dragged than slid.
@@cesariojpn Well the two first attempts were not actual slides at all, basically you could count only the first nudge. At least Mel was sliding while dragged but the last two ones were basically real slides or attempts to slide.
Mel is awesome, but Mel did not slide, she was hauled around...although the task did not specify "slide by means of your own power rather than volition".
The contact has to be continuous, but there's no specification that the motion has to be. One could argue the definition of "move smoothly", I suppose, but it seems to indicate that the motion, when present, must be smooth, not that it must be continuous.
@@michaelccozens Well if something is not moving then it's not sliding, or it slides and stops and slides again. So I don't consider that a smooth moving, more like jerking or tugging.
Lolly is always so positive I love it haha
"Vince Vaughn on Owen Wilson on Ben Stiller on an unlit barbecue" sounds like fundamental unit of pretty much any measurement system in existence.
Lolly is just cartoonishly adorable :)
This is clearly friction without action instead. I feel lied to.
3:20 technically any length is the length of a scale model of the Titanic
That's the joke

Not a bad choice. My all time favorite is Season 7 tho ❤️ it was amazing chaos
Also loved season 7
7 was definitely good but without my boy Hugh it just wasn't as good
james acaster is one of the best contestants
@@spaghettigum amen!
This is my first time watching this show.
Is it always like this, that it's about "who can bend the rules (or find the loopholes) the most" ?
pretty much
There are no rules mate. Just unclear instructions which the contestants have to be clever enough to use it to their advantage
@@ehabfysel5354 there are rules. what is written on the paper is the rules. But they often go outside the box, and make different meaning to those words. Sometimes they get point, sometimes they get disqualified.
e.g. getting dragged is not sliding in the eyes of most people; I'd argue that a slide starts when it stops being powered. Otherwise you could say that the car slides on the road... etc... But they allowed it for some reason when Mel was dragged.
Bet when in another episode Hugh did not *take* the things out of the sleeping bag, he just let them *fall out* of it, they disqualified him.
So this is what bugs me, the inconsistency, when is it bending the rules and when is it breaking...
@@panda4247 Damn, I have just started watching (binging) the show since the last couple of days. Lots to learn for me I guess😂
@@panda4247 The inconsistency shouldn't bother you. It's a _comedy_ show. Nobody actually cares about the competition, it's just funny people being funny.
Im a simple man, I see the tasknaster has uploaded a video with Noel in the thumbnail, i click
I would’ve done The Electric Slide for like a mile lolol
I like when the CZcams ad is right when the TV ad would be.
I'd say only Joe and Lolli slid...the others pulled themselves along or were dragged along by someone else.
I would say Mel still slid. You can get on a sled and get pulled by a car and that's still sliding. That slide probably ended when they stopped and turned around. The other two just scooted.
Yup Sled-Dog is a race when dogs pull/sliding the "driver" for over 1km. And I believe its categorized as "sliding".
Sliding just means one surface moving over another in continuous contact.
I'd argue Mel was dragged and didn't slide but bonus points for creativity
I like how the British haven't fully adopted the metric system in everyday colloqial use. Miles.
they still use mph on the road
Mile is a metric unit too though (1500m)
I prefer the Scandinavian mile, makes more sense from a metric standpoint (10 000m, or 10km. Feels more... metric).
@@spaghettigum 40 thousand km?
@@vitor613 nah im just stupid its 400 kms
@@ricebeansrockroll882 Sure, but is it really metric if it's not in increments of exponents of 10? That's the whole point of the system.
Lolly’s shoes never disappoints 🥺♥️
Hmm... my questions is: Do Hugh's and Noel's valiant 19 and 14-metre attempts count? Because I would not consider them single continuous slides, rather series of small, interrupted ones.
yes
you can tell because if you watch the video, Greg Davies doesn't question either
They didn't leave the sled/boogie board so I would call it one slide
I'm disappointed they didn't dissect 'slide' too!
Surely Hugh and Noel are only shuffling forwards on a board. You wouldn't say a curling stone 'slid' across the floor if it had to be influenced after every few centimetres of movement to secure another few cm of movement. A playground slide that you would slide down in 25 stages of movement with a a few stationary seconds between each wouldn't deliver to anyone who came there wanting to enjoy a slide either!
Shoddy judgment, this :(
The main variable with such technicalities is the Task master himself. I'm with you on this one but everything depends on the task master's own interpretation.
@@ashharijaywardena
I’m with you! Both Hugh and Noel are shuffling. Slides are smooth by nature. Mel was on the right track when she referenced lack of friction. Sliding is not a stop-and-go movement. Too bad none of the other contestants argued that in the studio.
Need Mel's words of encouragement as my morning motivator
Mel is so awesome, she has the best attitude!!! Noel cracks me up, he is so funny.
God that thumbnail looks cool
OMG, Lolly on the show, cackling and pointing at her own splat is delightful.
I’d ‘slide’ into somebodies DM’s halfway around the world, that’s pretty far 🤣🧐
My immediate thought was grab onto the back of a car
I’d just stick in some earphones and do the ‘Cha Cha slide’ as far as I can before getting bored 😋
What a silly, fun show Taskmaster is! I have to become a child again to really enjoy it, a pleasant experience.
Wish someone would've thought of trying of just sliding their hand on a surface in circles and see how far that idea would fly. The hand would be sliding and would count as them.
Taskmaster be damned, I want to do Mel's slide just for myself for fun, that looked amazing.
"Action without friction" sounds like a slogan for lube, if anything.
Also, my immediate thought was to somehow get something attached to a car and just have the car pull me. Just go as far as you want with that.
That "hello" at 0:14 sounds like the one in the intro to How Far We've Come by Matchbox Twenty
Best series by far!
'If there was no friction, you'd just go forever,'
Wind Resistance: Am I a joke to you?
hdjsj always love joe and lolly
When Hugh bumped his head I felt that... He really used his head during this challenge!
I love this show so much I watch the ads!
Just popping in to say that furthest is time; farthest is distance.
Or really furthest is anything other than distance.
I would probably do the electric slide dance for 20 minutes making sure to go in a single direction.
7:07 “you’d think she’d have this in the bag”
pahahahahahahaha
Series 8 please!!!
Farthest. Farther is distance. Further is more.
Noel's cheeky little face at 3:33.
awesome task 😂😂
Now we need a debate on dragging vs sliding lol
Sliding without friction isn’t possible in space either. In order to be called sliding an object has to be moving along a surface with contact. As long as there is a force making the object have contact with a surface there will be friction. Not having gravity or air doesn’t have anything to do with it Greg
And he used to be a teacher! Shocking! But I think he probably got air resistance and friction mixed up in his mind and didn't stop to think about what he was saying.
Notification Gang.
But for real, I can't for this series' finale on the 17th. It's an extremely tight race between Daisy and Richard.
I'm planning to keep going with Taskmaster NZ, and then perhaps Norway and Sweden.
Best quote ever.. oh we should have gone into space!
Controversial opinion: Mel didn’t slide, she was dragged
nor did noel and hugh slide, i say they scooted their way around. they really only slid for some centimeters at a time
Her body was sliding. Hugh and Noel were more controversial
The Cambridge Dictionary defines sliding as "to (cause to) move easily and without interruption over a surface". Think Mel did slide, as it was uninterrupted movement. Don't think Noel and Hugh had an accurate slide measurement though
The very same dictionary defines drag (v.) as “to move something by pulling it along a surface, usually the ground”. That’s much closer to what moved Mel around than the definition of sliding, which implies self-propulsion
@@untexan sure, but you drag something my sliding all or part of it
You can still have friction in space doe...
Ride an ice block down a paved hill.
Work smarter, not harder
NOEL IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL
guy in yellow has the weirdest shaped head ive ever seen
"Action with no friction" sounds like a condom slogan
Exactly my thoughts 😂
That thing in the yellow creeps me right out!
Before watching the video, I would've gone to an airport and started a power slide at the start of one of those moving walkways.
Yeah, I was going to say ... Air is technically a fluid and also causes friction .. So a slide can't be without friction, because you would need a vacuum to do that lol
its seems the answer is always to make someone else make it for you. quite the principle
Fun fact: every positive length is the length of a scale model of the titanic.
That intro was kinda banging
Me: Powerslides in a 400hp BMW
Rest of the world: ugh one of those idiots again who thinks owning a car is the same as having a personality.
@@sandoumir4348
Me: "who is this moron commenting random crap on my comment trying to make a joke"
Apparently, space makes things frictionless. Who knew?
What is the difference between being dragged and sliding?
Mel: There is none!
Let's be honest, it's not the first time he's greased himself up with butter and cream. Probably an expert at it at this point
Technically they should have said "farthest" if they wanted a distance. "Furthest" is figurative, so someone could have just described their whole career as coasting.
I spent a good hour wondering who Noel's voice reminds me of... Until 8 realized that he sounds just like James Currie from Sorted xD
I would run as far as I could and then slide half a meter, thus sliding the furthest from the house.
Red sled tied after car... full gear
I was fully expecting someone to ask to be pulled behind a car
im old Gregg!!
1:15 Hold on, did he say there is no sliding friction in space??
I'm upset that nobody mentioned there being a fraction too much friction.
Bloody Pommies, not knowing who Tim Finn is.
I would have brought that surfboard to the river near the house and well, surf!
I'd write "The Furthest" on a piece of paper and slide it across the table
Half expected somebody to race to the nearest water slide (though I suppose the chance of any being within range are low)
dmso… action without friction
you also don't move at all without friction
Once you impart further impulse, it is no longer a slide. Joe and Lolly are the winners.
There was no specification that the slide had to be continuous; just that they had one "attempt" to slide as far as possible in 20 minutes. As long as you don't change the method of locomotion, you're still adding to your slide.
