Y'all I'm a huge Notre Dame fan but honestly, this was one of the best games I have ever seen and one of the best games that will ever be played despite the outcome, wow, what an incredible game. All in all though, GO IRISH! 2009 CHAMPS!

Everyone talks about the Texas vs USC game.. it was great, but For me this is the greatest college game I’ve ever watched on tv. Mind me, I’m 30 years old lol

This was one of the best games I've ever seen. SC's genius to fake the clock play & sneak in caught the Irish off guard. took guts to try that. Don't know if it's legal in college to get help but Reggie Bush gave Leinart a big push lol
i am still heartbroken, its so easy to say that the refs gave the ball an awful spot, or that reggie push just pushed lineart in, but that 4th and 9 was the play of the game

i was coming back from Bc watching Josh beekman play when i turned it on to see the first half. im a diehard irish fan, but i have to say this is always going to be one for the record books as a top 10 greatest college football games ever. Anyways this could be NDs year, dont see why not. we could see a replay of '05 with different results. GO IRISH!!!

Not only was the push illegal but USC called a timeout when they had none left so that also should have been a penalty. ND played such a great game. Best game EVER! go IRISH!

@jpsartrean one or two things probably happend....the refs made half hearted signals to stop the clo...and let's be honest a game like that, the scoreboard operator was probably watching the game...not too many games have the twists and turns this one had

@dwm1812 The sad outcome of this game for ND was that on the strength of this "moral" victory, Charlie Weiss was signed for 10 years.
Once Charlie had recruited his "own" players he had a losing record against the usual cupcake schedule. USC, MSU, and UM are the only consistently tough games. The irish should go 9-3 in their worst years. Not under Charlie. He found a way to lose in every conceivable way.
This game was lost when Jarrod caught the 70 yd pass on 4th and 9 with 1:20 to play.

whats frustrating when you watch this is thinking how it left so much motivation for the 06 game and they got their asses lit up, im not saying the didnt try as hard in that game as they did this one but obviously this team was better because they excuted plays and actually made something happen on defense..unlike the recent 38-whatever embarresments and the 44-24 flop when they were saying they want in on the national championship
