      It would destroy Haulover I’m the captain of hull #1 took boat from Fort Lauderdale to Texas this boat eats anything and everything the sea can throw your way…The gunnels are high and billing and releasing Marlin can be tricky but totally doable. Went 12 for 22 on Blue Marlin and Two white Marlin last summer. This boat fishes and fishes incredibly well we fished hard and ran long out 120+ nautical miles most trips, no problem when all the other guys were stuck at the dock. This is by far the best hull design I’ve ever seen for the size, price, fuel efficiency….. nothing compares. Period.

    Probably one of the best looking cats out there. Beautiful lines with some cool innovative features and priced fair. I like the long water line which could equal for a better ride vs other cats in its size range. Is it possible to shorten the front bench some and then add a bench seats across the front section. A pair of flip down seats in front of the live wells would also be another good feature. By chance have you run any with the Merc 300's and as to the X dimension have you played with this and props to get better speeds. I was hoping for a little more top end speed (60-65mph) for a boat with this build quality and twin stepped. Look forward to checking them out.

    • @hammeryachts5838
      @hammeryachts5838 Před 3 lety +1

      Hello Jeff, Your comments are spot on. The more vertical bow reduces pitching / slamming as there is more resistance. Combine that with the wave piercing bow and you can be assured of a smooth ride.
      If you contact me through peter@hammeryachts.com I will send you some pictures / drawings of the U shaped seating forward.
      We have 3 options for the forward deck area:
      1) just the bench forward of the console, which leaves the foredeck wide open, great for fishing
      2) bench and coffin box / lounger.
      3) bench and U shaped seating around the gunnel, turning the HammerCat more into a day-boat.
      As we build semi-custom, we can easily add flip down seats aft.

      there are many factors that work together in sea-keeping ability of a vessel: the center of gravity, (the tanks are in the pontoons, low, and no weight on top), the wet surface / beam of the boat (12' x 35') and the hull shape. The HammerCat 35 has a very nice motion, both at rest as well underway in heavy seas.

      Not necessarily, it all comes down to Horsepower vs Weight ratio.
      Less weight means you need less horsepower to get to the same speed, with the added benefit of reducing your fuel consumption.
      More horsepower would only mean that your top speed is a bit higher.

    Nice boat. But producing a fishing boat like that, It MUST come with at least one large pressurized baitwell. I'd say at least 50 gallons, A pressurized bait well can't be an option on these boats, because no true fisherman is going to buy a fishing boat like that that doesn't have a large pressurized baitwell that's going to keep his VERY expensive live bait alive while running out 50 miles or more offshore. Not knocking the boat, just speaking facts.

    • @hammeryachts5838
      @hammeryachts5838 Před 3 lety +1

      We have 2 x 65 gallon bait wells. The owner of this HammerCat preferred to have 2 x 65 Gl cool boxes instead so did not install the sea-chest system.

    A true “next gen” would be using Cox diesel outboards and or be thinking of a diesel electric power option. This seems like your run of the mill boomer dream company/boat builder, not anything truly next generation.

      please look up "COX Hammer Yachts", there is a CZcams video on our channel featuring a HammerCat 35 with Cox outboard diesels. As for 'next generation', we are one of the very few builders that exclusively use epoxy composites / carbon fiber, and have a modern underwater body / double stepped hull and wave piercing bow. It is quite "next gen" not to have quad engines, and only use twin engines on a large platform such as the HammerCat 35.

    • @hammeryachts5838
      @hammeryachts5838 Před 3 lety +2

      The bow is not ugly, it is just unlike what your are used to. The typical sloping bow that has been common for the past 25 years is simply not efficient and has no resistance when the bow comes down in the water after going through a wave. With the wave piercing bow entry and the steep bow line on the HammerCat , there is more waterline and a finer balance. The HammerCat 35 defines the next generation power catamarans .

      If you fish around Southern California this would be great for getting to the islands in the morning and back to Long Beach in the afternoon, or hitting up the kelp beds just offshore whenever you feel like it. Given the deck space, you can easily use it for lobster season and fit the 10 pot limit without tripping over yourself. It's expensive, yes, but that's presumably because it's not a simple fiberglass boat. Is this a boat you would use in Maine or Alaska? Probably not; however, for Southern California (or the keys) I can definitely see it used. The center consoles give better deck space and the ability to walk around instead of having to keep using your bow thruster to spin the boat is great for smaller boats.
